What a lovely theatre! In all my yes living here, Ive never been here.Nice, clean. Very Kind staff!Seriously the Best popcorn of any theatre around. They have serve yourself butter, fake butter or other flavor toppings for popcorn. Comfortable seating. Tall back chairs. Extremely Reasonable priced. Especially I came Tuesday. You must try it out!

We love seeing movies there. Its clean and the people are always helpful and they are open now. Everyone wears a mask and marks the seats we sit in so they can clean and staralize after we leave.

Collins Road Theater has the best prices! Their food is much better than the other theaters. The hot dogs and homemade Carmel corn is my favorite. The seats are in great shape though not as comfortable as the other theaters but it’s worth the price.

Lots of respect to the manager. He kept an eye on a group that kept talking throughout the movie. Theyre also good at engaging people and letting you know they care. And the prices are far better than anywhere else in town.

Best popcorn, an owner that is almost always there and a rewards card that lowers prices even more make CRT the choice for avid or occasional movie-goers. Cheapest movies and concessions that i have found. They play first run movies as well as older ones. During the summer they have kids movies galore. Great value.

Saw a first run movie, Avengers End Game, and had a wonderful time. Affordable experience, great food and drinks, real butter! Great staff and comfortable seats. They do surveys in person, asking what will help make a better experience. Also, they make sure no one uses their cell phones during the movie, which makes it a much more enjoyable experience! This is a great place to take kids for a movie! During events and such they even do drawings for prizes such as movies and food. Took the time to give me a new ticket for a later showing for a movie that was full and sold too many tickets for. Overall a good place for a cheap movie!

The best thing about Collins Road Theater though has to be the quality popcorn at such low prices I still cant believe when I went to a 10 am showing of Ready Player One at Marcus (my former go to theater) A Large Popcorn and Drink cost more than the entire ticket heck a small Drink on its own matched the ticket price, you cant beat the prices offered at Collins Road Theater if you havent checked this place out do yourself a favor and check it out next time you want to see a film. You Wont regret it!!!

The prices for tickets are the same as AMC on the south side. The remodelled seats are horrible. Most uncomfortable experience in a theater I can recall. The old seats were way more comfortable. My back is tore up from a 2.5 hr. Experience. On a positive note the staff, At least, were friendly!!

They have really cheap food as well as cheap tickets, and the theater itself is actually well maintained. Fun place to hangout for a few bucks. This summer they are also hosting a event where kids are free, so a great place to treat your kids a nice little surprise.Overall great place to visit for just a few bucks

The movies are high quality and the audio is supreme. The popcorn is delicious. Especially with real butter. However, the seating isnt as comfortable as other theaters Ive been in. But, that wont keep me from going there again.

Great economy theater with first run movies and self serve popcorn butter; cheap tickets and inexpensive snacks. One person can go to the movies and get snacks for half the cost of other major theaters in the area and two people for around 1/3 the cost. Lovely place.

A throwback to theaters of the early 60s. Clean, inexpensive and personable.

A long time favorite of ours. Popcorn is so tender and flavorful! Employees at ticket booth and concessions are super polite, friendly, conscientious and attentive. Theater is now showing first run movies. (But since it’s our favorite theater we never minded waiting anyway.) Great, fair prices too.

The tickets and concessions are priced better than the other two theaters in town...... Only down fall is the seating. The seats are not comfortable to sit on for the whole movie.

I love going here to watch movies with my family. Very enjoyable and cheap.

Very rude attendants, I literally got ask if I could shut my daughters light up shoes off while we were taking our seats, she even asked a family with a baby who was giggling at a kids movie if they could shut their baby up.... A man fell and they just laughed even though he hit very hard on their slick floor. Will never go back I have never been to such a poor theater. I asked for management and they were unable to find one or choose not to look for one.

Amazing popcorn! Very kid friendly, awesome prices, and the free kids movies in the summer is something my kids ALWAYS look forward to.

By far my favorite theater in Cedar Rapids. They are always friendly and they have the best prices in town. I was happy to see older movies here for their discounted prices, but now they have new releases too! The real butter on the popcorn is a huge plus for me, and their smoothie and coffee drink options make their concessions that much better. 10/10 would reccomend.

Saw Ford v Ferrari, great car movie! At times almost felt like you were in GT40. $5 Tuesday is great, pop, popcorn and ticket for less than $10!

For a ‘cheap’ local theater, they have great service and fair prices. Bathrooms are usually neat and the theater is clean. It’s a well-kept establishment.

Great place to go for a movie. Popcorn with real butter (you get to put the butter on yourself) and reasonable prices. Plus the owner is really nice and introduces the movies and often has a free drawing if you are there early enough.

The prices did raise when they went from 2nd run to 1st, but theyre still better than the other guys, and nobody else in town has real butter available. Not only that, but the concession prices are entirely reasonable, and service is great. The new (ish, now) seats are comfortable, the projectors are bright, and any problem or quibble Ive had, has always been addressed and resolved. Always happy to return to Collins Road Theaters.

The staff is very friendly and the drawings they do at the start of a movie for prizes makes it feel like a special, small town theater unlike the big one down the street that is over priced. Great value on tickets and concessions. They offer dollar refills on popcorn and drinks....which is nice! And they have real butter and popcorn seasonings. Comfortable seats and very clean. Highly recommend!

I love Collins Road Theaters! The popcorn is excellent and you get to add your own butter and flavors. They offer butter flavor topping and real butter topping. The prices are affordable for movies and concessions, unlike the big name theaters in the area. They do not have first run movies, but several have still been showing in the big name theaters when Collins Road is running them.

Their kids movies dollar for kids free adults. Great choice of movies, clean, professional great service. Great food deals for the kids..

Love the kid free movies in the summer. Ive been going since my nephew was little, know I take my grandsons and great nephew. My good friends take their grandkids also. My mom at 82 likes going also. Prizes for numbers on your boxes or drinks is also great.

Its a cute locally ran theater. They have some great popcorn and they offer real butter which is nice. While it doesnt offer all of the new amenities that some theaters do like recliners and such, it is a very nice theater and I would highly recommend going there.

Went to see the new It movie with my boyfriend. It was my first time there. Seats werent very comfortable but was manageable. I like how the popcorn seasoning was out for use instead of being forced to purchase whole containers.

While visiting Cedar Rapids, I ran across this gem of a theater! Small, quaint and cozy remnicent of the theaters in the eighties that had two distinct sides of a theater. It just so happens to be on a Tuesday, which was $4 Dollar movie night... Excellent! Thanks for taking me back!

Real butter for those who want it. Movies are cheap, but not first run. Locally owned, so I supported this place a lot. New seating a few years ago. Other events can be had here such as summer kids movies (free) and special event showings while raising money for charity.

Always a good place to take the kiddos. My wife and I are bad and go in just to purchase the popcorn on days we want to watch a movie at home. Delish

Easily the best theater in town. With the switch to first run movies you now get to see brand new movies without having to spend a fortune at the other place that has dry customer service and completely unreasonable prices. Afternoon tickets are 5.99 + tax and evening tickets are children/adult/senior with kids being 5.99 + tax adults being 7.99 + tax and then seniors pay a little bit less by like 20 cents. Not a remarkable amount but a discount none the less! The guy in charge literally slims the prices as low as he can down to the last penny so he can keep his customers happy while still paying the electrical bill. The staff here is remarkable. They are always happy to help and they don’t make me feel embarrassed when I asked to get my large popcorn halfway filled so I can put REAL BUTTER in the middle!! They also are looking out for their customers during the movie making sure that some ignorant dingus isn’t using their phone or talking super loud during the movie. Overall just a great experience every time I go. I would much rather take my business here, to a locally owned small business where the people working there actually care about you, rather than spend an arm and a leg down the road at a big corporate theatre that just wants to nab your money behind the disguise of “big comfy recliners”. If I wanted a recliner I have one at home. I’m there for a movie not a dumb chair that they probably haven’t cleaned since they were installed. Oh, also did I forget to mention that they have SELF SERVE REAL BUTTER?! This place is the best. Do yourself a favor and never go to AMC or Marcus again.

Went here for leftover popcorn for a church function. It took several calls to finally connect with someone who understood what I was looking for and could help. The popcorn was great and our youth group was happy.

Very friendly environment here! The manager, Bruce, is very personable and will joke with you too in a gentle way. My family and I came here to see Avengers: End Game, and we left feeling well taken care of.

A great theater with cheaper concession prices than the big chains. We used to visit CRT at least once a month to watch films we missed during their first run. However, with their recent switch to first run movies, there is really no reason to go there. Frankly they simply cant compete with the product that is offered at the nearby competitor who has reclining reserved seating and a full bar. If I am going to see a film at the theater anyway, why not spend a couple extra bucks and be treated to big comfortable seats. In my views, it is tvery unfortunate that they made this change as I always felt CRT filled a hole in the film offerings in Cedar Rapids.

We come to this theater often, and have never had any problems. However, this afternoon I was disappointed. I checked the movies and times, and then asked my two granddaughters if they wanted to go to Transylvania 3. They were thrilled and said they hadnt seen it yet. When we arrived at the theater, we were told it wasnt showing yet. The person working said there must be a mistake on the site because others had asked for it as well. Luckily my granddaughters were able to be flexible and we saw Teen Titans. Unfortunately they had already seen it, but had their hearts set on seeing a movie with me. $29.00 to see a movie they had already seen seems like a waste. Of course I will continue to go there, just had a disappointing experience this time.

Not exactly the most updated theatre but seats are decent and food/drinks are cheaper than most definitely choose this over other especially for cheaper tickets. Would recommend to anyone

Quite possibly the OLNY movie theater I have ever visited that has a well-trained and friendly staff. CRT offers first-run movies at a discount (dont ask me how), a reasonably-priced concession stand, and free summer movies for kids. A community-minded business, CRT hosts the annual Cedar Rapids Film Festival.

I love the cheaper costs, the family environment, the DIY *real* butter for popcorn, but ...their Carmel corn is O.M.G. Love it. Pretty sweet staff, too!

This is a fantastic second run theater. They do a great job keeping it up and making sure it is always clean and well kept. Lots of first run theatres Ive been to look run down in comparison to Collins Road. Its always an enjoyable experience here!

I like this theater. I like the prices and I like their effort to create a good movie going experience. I especially like the real butter for the popcorn (if you go to the right spigot). But I can’t give this theater 5 stars because when you are in one theater you can hear the rumbles and explosions of the movies on each side of you. Latest development, Collins Theater is now playing First Run movies.

This is a second-run theater. Most of the movies I want to see do come here shortly after their first run. The seats are comfortable and tickets and snacks are very inexpensive. They have specials on kids movies, $4 Tuesdays, and real butter, plus the occasional drawing for prizes.

I liked it better when they showed the second run movies, but still a pretty good value.
