Great museum, we went on the first tour of the Cobia that day, and we had a good experience with the tour guide. He made sure everyone wore face coverings, was very reassuring and made sure that everyone was doing okay. The engine exhibit was fantastic! And the gift shop had some nice stuff too.

Did not know what to expect. We were greeted by friendly faces and then had a great time thru the museum, and then onto the submarine. Great guide, who could relate to all the younger children in our group and the adults. A group of 18, from 1 to 69 in age. Will do it again when we have the chance.

Very nice museum with full size naval submarine docked outside to tour. Very informed tour guides, many that actually were stationed on this sub or a sister sub. Exhibits inside are very well displayed with plenty to look at without being crowded or overwhelming. A must see for anyone who likes history.

Outstanding experience! Our family came to see the submarine and left with a better appreciation for the history of the Great Lakes region. The museum of ships and ship building was fascinating. Highly recommended for historocal and nautical exhibits. The submarine tour was delightful. The tour guide brought the stories of servicemen alive and the fact that the submarine was operable was unbelievable.

Great experience for the whole family. My grandfather served in the Navy during WW II, so the submarine tour had a special meaning for me. However, even if you have no Navy connection, the tour and the museum are really interesting.Have little ones? No worries. They have a super neat place for them to play and learn. At one point I lost my husband and found him in the play area! So, I guess you could say it is fun for all ages. Our guide was very informative, and might I add, very patient with all of the questions that the visitors had.We were traveling home when we stopped by and spent about an hour and a half, but certainly could have spent more, if not pressed to get back on the road.

We really enjoyed this museum. Be sure you watch the short video when you arrive and while you wait for your tour of the Submarine the museum displays some great info. We even dressed up in period clothing for a quick photo shoot before taking a tour of the Sub. Dont muss the tour, it is well worth the cost of admission.

You absolutely must tour the submarine! Our guide was a college student working on a history major. What a wealth of knowledge! With his narrative, life aboard the S.S.Cobia unfolded in front us as we journeyed through this WWII hero. We learned about everyday life and unconventional routines that occur when in that small of a space for so long. The rest of the museum is filled with curiosities related to both local and global sailing history including a running steam engine 3 stories tall!

We went to the Museum for a field trip with our 7th and 8th grade students, and the experience was wonderful. We didnt have much of a chance to look through the museum and see the exhibits, but to tie in the Museum into our US history studies, Shane put together a presentation on how Manitowoc contributed to the WWII effort, and he and Sandy made it more real to the kids. The submarine is exciting and a great piece of history. Both Shane and Sandy are very knowledgeable about WWII on the Home Front, and Shane was great with the students (Sandy was too, but Shane was our group leader and spent more time interacting with the kids). Would definitely recommend!
