The ad says free & open to the public with RSVP .. nothing about donations accepted or suggested donation.. So we assumed it was something funded by somebody or some org with enough for everybody to enjoy ..; all they have to do is add in small letters suggested donation on the ad which we saw in Malibu Times ... We literally do not take our purse & wallet when we go to events if we do not expect it requires any money. But when we arrived the 2 guys hit us up at the door ... would you like to help us out...it costs $1000 to put on the event.. .And we would be GLAD to throw some dollars in the jar (he informed us they take credit card too) ..IF we had known it was expected ...suddenly they made us feel like cheapskates. We said we would go back to the car to get our purse & wallet but of course we would actually have to go back home . We did not return . Any non-profit org who is putting on an event normally adds suggested donation of.. .. & everybody knows what this means . They need to do this rather than embarrass people at the door. PEOPLE, they expect a donation. Which is fine. Just say so up front ON THE AD ...dont wait til we get to the door.

This is a big beautiful room that is kind of hidden from the street.
