The food was way overpriced and not good. The first set of fries that came out tasted cold and hard. The server even tried one and was not impressed. My sons pretzel Dogs came way overcooked. I had Philly Sliders. They came cold with the buns being hard. I asked for a replacement with reg burger sliders. Pretty sure they werent happy I complained, considering the way they came out. Service is extremely slow. I have been sitting here for 30 min trying to get a refill on my water. Im sure this will cost me a lot of money for terrible food.

Lots of broken games, it ate up our credits and staff was pretty sure people were intentionally breaking games. The staff was unavailable or completely absent when we needed them for questions or help. The baby changing station was completely unusable, it looked as if someone tried using it as a seat. This left my husband forced to hold the table up with his knee. My family still had a fun time, thats why I am giving a three. However its very disappointing to see that this establishment has really gone down hill since opening what, two years ago?

Pretty great. Some of the food seems kind of pricey at first glance, but when it gets to your table you realize that its due to how much you get. I personally enjoy the nachos quite a bit. Games are exciting and there always seems to be a new one to try out there. Due to covid-19, some of the games arent available for social distancing, yet it does not seem to take away from the enjoyment factor of the place. The game technicians are friendly and always willing to lend a hand to those in need, the servers and bartenders are pretty friendly and always try to get things to your table as quickly as possible. I have to say that I am rather impressed at how the covid situation has not taken away from the value of the restaurant, bar, or arcade area nearly as much as you would think; especially while still maintaining great health practices.

Loved the food, although some of it was a little spicy for me. It was a little pricy but it was well worth the fun! I will be returning later on even if it is just to play games in the arcade area.

Everything here is so delicious! The food is always hot and fresh and the cocktails are awesome. The games are fun and they have much to choose from for people of all ages. If you have the chance, try the impossible burger - tastes just like a real hamburger!

Used to be my favorite place to go but now service is so bad... i took my girlfriend and we both got separate cards to play games hers wasn’t working and mines worked for 1 game that I did not play because my girl card wasn’t working, I then waited in line for 15 minutes to get a refund just for the manager to tell me he could refund me for 1 card but not the other EVEN THO I was there for literally 15 minutes and did not play a single game I scanned my card and then walked off but it’s good I’ll never be back ... Fun Bar/Restaurant/Arcade. This is not the best arcade, bar, or restaurant in the area but Id youre looking for all 3 this is the spot. I think they offer pretty good value combining the meal with points you can use to play the games. The food does not stand out to me but nothing I had was bad. I did like the cheese curds here and the menu is typical pub food.The arcade side is the best part of the experience. They had a large variety of games with a preference for the higher tech games. They have a bunch of larger than life versions of popular phone app games. My favorite type is definitely the coin pushers but they have something for everyone. Great place to bring kids.

Lots of game choices, theyre trying to keep all games to one party i.e. you can play with your date, you cant play with random stranger you met at the bar

New Dave and Busters opened In Madison today. Portion size on the Chicken Tortilla soup was a little small, but the Bowl size is only $1 extra, so Ill do that next time; flavor was very good. Mac and Cheese and Short Rib Stacker also had very good flavor; could have used a little more sauce since it was a little dry. Picture doesnt show that the stack was very high with a huge portion of tater tots. Nice ambiance in the regular restaurant area, sound level in the sports bar section was a little loud for me.

We brought 18 people with us, we called ahead to let them know. Server Lizzy has a horrible attitude and just nasty to guest. Food was wrong, missing, or mixed up. The manager when informed of our issues, basically told us it was our fault and not much she could do. We will never return to this location.

I’m an arcade fanatic and love to go here. That being said, this particular location leaves a lot to be desired. Often times you will wait 5-10 minutes just for a bartender to serve you a pint. I wouldn’t bother ordering food here, you will wait about 45 minutes just to get a couple appetizers even when the place is just about dead. Games are often broken or missing the proper amount of accessories (balls, bean bags, etc.) to allow you to actually enjoy the games.

Came for a birthday party, 12 year old and 8 year old both had fun! $20 game cards (plus unlimited arcade games that dont earn tickets) were more than enough to keep the kids happy and get them some cheap toys and candy from the ticket shop. The food was decent party appetizers, the service seemed good (eavesdropping on the parents of the party). The whole place was clean, bright games in an appropriately dim space, a bit loud, but in a fun way. And parents can get a drink! Overall, a great experience.

They have a guy that walks around and chats with your table. It was nice considering the place was empty due to COVID.

The experience would have been far improved if the staff had better service-orientated attitudes. Bartenders had poor service and were downright surly. Drinks were good, but I felt like an obligation to the bartender, who appeared not happy to work. Multiple misfunctions occurred on gaming machines and the front desk employees was not overly helpful. When the game tech did arrive to help (he was tied up in another area through no fault of his own), he was good and friendly. The employee running the prize section was also friendly. Those two individuals were the redeeming factors of the staff.

Visited for the first time for a birthday. The greeters were nice and cordial, but thats really where the service ends. At the front desk.Bartenders who took care of the power cards(which a stack was grabbed then was subsequently tossed on the bar top at my group). After asking to put money on said card, wasnt given an explanation of the chips buying system, but was asked why didnt I look at the sheet explaining it halfway across the bar. Ultimately I paid with cash, then walked away.The games were fun and enjoyable, but the fun times were ruined by the same bartender who thought I took a receipt I was supposed to sign like I paid with card. I paid with cash like 5 minutes prior. Just an, Oh. after I responded.Ill be recommending that we go to Geeks Mania up the street if a group of us want to play games with a friendlier atmosphere.

Our kids absolutely love this place. The appetizers are great and it’s a fun environment. Happy we have one in madison now. The prizes could be better but the kids don’t seem to care.

This service here is horrible! We went on a Saturday at 2pm and stood in line, waiting to be seated, for 45 minutes with only 2 people already there waiting in line. We were there to meet another group, who were already seated and eating so I asked a person who stopped at the desk we were waiting at if we could be seated soon since our other people were already in the dining area, eating. She said we could go in, otherwise we would be waiting for who knows how much longer. It was unclear if she was the hostess, a server, or had another role there. It was difficult to know who was supposed to be seating people. That dining area (on the left) had about half the seating open at cleaned tables so it made no sense why people werent being seated. There was a huge line behind us as well and it looked like a manager who walked out to the dining area and didnt even seem concerned about the huge line with no host/hostess handling the situation. We were seated and my sister asked two times for a high chair. It was never brought to us. The waiter took our drink order and after 10 minutes brought drinks for two of the 6 people and one was only about 4/5 full. Our other group had eaten and they said it was extremely slow service and not worth the high prices in the menu. The food would have been good if it was hot when they received their meals I was told. One person in their group was still waiting for his food 45 minutes after ordering. Our waiter never came back to take our food order after dropping off the 2 drinks so after 15 minutes we decided to not eat there and we left to get game tickets and just do that part of the visit for my nieces birthday. I dont have any personal knowledge of how the food or drinks were and I wont probably ever be back. So, we went back to standing in line to get a card to play games with. My nephew saw the advertising for buying online to skip standing in line, plus it was 30% off for more tokens so it sounded like a good idea. He said they took his money but didnt give him the tokens. He wound up in line getting a card anyway. They did refund his money online but he was left not understanding what had happened. Played some games, which were pretty fun...giant pacman and asteroids were my favorite. I played about 8 games with my 60 tokens for $12...probably within 45 minutes or so. I just find it ridiculous standing in line for that long without any staff being concerned and wanting to provide customer service and then waiting at our table again with such poor service again. I usually give people and businesses the benefit of the doubt and try to see things from their point of view, like if they are super busy or if other customers were being jerks, when I write reviews. I dont know if it was a short staffing situation or what, but middle of the afternoon, on a Saturday, in Madison requires much better preparedness for service than was here today. Absolutely horrible 1st experience.

Went with a group of 6 co-workers on a Thursday and everything was solid! Was definitely hesitant after reading prior reviews, but we were seated right away, unlimited game cards came out quick, and we played between re-orders of wings so the short wait was a non-issue. Great value during Thursday happy hour.

We just came for the arcade, so I cant speak to the food or drinks yet. The arcade is as good as advertised - everything feels premium and is a blast to play. But if youre used to say Chuck E. Cheese, be prepared to spend more for a similar amount of time. Although there we plenty of older kids or young adults Ithe floor I had no concerns taking my 11 daughter there (she had a fantastic time). Given the cost and the types of games I dont think Id bring young school-aged kids, although nothing is unfriendly to families per se.

Lack of service was astounding. Drinks took about 15 minutes to get after it took 10 minutes for our server to recognize she had someone seated in her section. Food ordered and they gave me the wrong steak dinner. Manager did offer to comp everything. I will not be bought but would just like to enjoy my experience. Hope others have a better time than me and my family.

We had a large party and even though they were extremely slow they had only one large booth functioning. The others were broken. I asked 2 different people, one a manager, if someone could bus the booth for us. We ended up cleaning the booth ourselves after watching 3 employees stand around doing nothing for 30 mins. We have been here for almost an hour and no one even took our drink order. If the kids werent already playing games. I would leave. I refused to even order food because I didnt want to be here for 3 more hours and not even got our food yet. I saw every single waiter standing around on their phones all night. There were only about 5 tables tops that had people and 3 more people at the bar. WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I will never go back there again.

I came here for the first time last night with my family and had a great time. I appreciate the manager that came by and talked to us for a bit, and explained how everything works, really great guy! No wonder hes been with the company for over 15 years. You dont want to lose this asset!

Wait of over an hour after we ordered and still waiting, after waiting over 30 min to order. The only reason I give one star is because the great waiter (Kyle). I will however, never return! Seriously a table seated 20 minutes ago have received their food and we are still waiting! We are only 2 people for gosh sake!

It would be great to have notification that your food is at your table. A text, a flashing, vibrating token like some bars have, a server whose only job is to find people and let them know. We checked our table twice in 30 minutes, no food. When we came back again, the food had been there long enough to get cold, and there were no utensils or napkins. Would also like it if salt and pepper werent automatically added to the fries. Pepper was too coarsely ground to come out of shaker on table. Prices are a bit steep also, especially for the alcoholic beverages.

Everyone was amazing. I brought my family out for the Packers game and we all had a blast. Our Server Anne was all over it and was very attentive to our needs. The manager checked on us frequently because my son has a severe nut allergy. He made sure my son was safe, which is the best part of the visit. Most places seem put out when I tell them my son has an allergy, they made him feel special! Great job D&B!

Ill give it 4. We did wait in line forever to get gamecards. 10 groups in line out the door and no one helped the 1 person at desk. Then we waited forever for waitress and food to come. Food was good..but then we wanted to pay and play some more but waitress never came back so we could pay bill. Finally paid at bar and left.

This was the worst restaurant experience Ive had in a very long time. Took over an hour to get seated. Which in itself isnt that big of a deal with games. However the place was so understaffed I waited 10min to try and get a drink while waiting, not even an acknowledgment that I was there, not to mention another 4-5 people waiting. Finally got out table after an hour, wait another 20-30min for drinks, and then another hour for our food. Food seemed like it may have been good but our entire groups was cold. It just seemed like an all around horribly run business. Good concept executed terribly. I wont be returning.

Fun place to take the kids during the day and have adult fun at night. I recommend going on wednesdays when the games are half price. Food can be pricey and hit or miss on quality but overall enjoyable experience.

Even though we called days ahead to give a heads up that 15 people were coming, we waited 2 hours to be seated!!It was very frustrating because we had several children and we came all the way out of town.One of the employees, I think his name is Matt, felt so bad that he offered to pay for 250 tokens out of HIS pocket (which we wouldnt dare take from him). You would think the manager would come to apologize but that never happened.Thank you Matt for softening the blow by your selfless and kind gesture.

Its a place where anybody can be anything not just a kids can that can be a kid? Its amazing. Its great. Its the food is amazing, but its a little bit on the expensive side, but its amazing greats The staffs are fun. Cool.

The kids had a blast playing all the games. We did not enjoy the food at all. The Philly cheesesteak was dry and super salty. The kids grilled cheese smelled horrible and my daughter took one bite and gagged. The pretzel hot dogs that my son and daughter got were reheated and hard to chew. They left their food. I will say the cheese curds were amazing though! I would skip the food and pay to play. Get dinner elsewhere.

I stopped in for a drink after my tan and was waiting for my friend.Leslie was a wonderful bartender. Very attentive and great conversation. But as he was holding conversations with a patron, he was attentive to all of his patrons, making sure that they were treated the same! It’s refreshing to have great customer service for a change! I have been to so many other places where their bartenders are on their phones and not engaging their customers! If I could give 10 stars I would!

Went here for my Level Up Day and had the time of my life! I definitely recommend the virtual reality ride (its made with the Unreal Engine and VERY well done!) Drinks were yummy as well! 10/10 would go back!

We waited an hour for our food. Ordered steak medium well. It was medium rare. They brought out another it was completely rare. The brussel sprouts were undercooked. Italian seasoning on chicken after requested it not be on it. After hr and half just played games and went hungry. Will not be going there again.

My first complaint would be that the bar service was painfully slow. My second complaint is the app. I downloaded the app and used that to buy tickets and play games, but it wouldnt work most of the time. When I went to the front desk, the lady working couldnt get it to work either. They did transfer my points to a card which was super helpful. We all definitely had a fun time, there were just some major inconveniences.

Service here is terrible. Took forever and had to go ask for water. Food is bland, can get better food at Culvers and much better service for that matter. Too many games out of order. Highlight of the visit was giving all the credits and tickets to a little kid that hopefully enjoyed the place. Will never be back until they close and somebody else takes over the location.

Went there for the first time today, the staff blew my expectations away! Always made sure we were having a good time and keeping us updated on our order. Props to them! Now about the food....it was delicious!! The ribs fell off the bone, the burgers were juicy, and the pasta was made just right! My experience couldnt have been better! Definitely will be going back and recommending it to all my friends and family! Oh did I mention they did this while 3 parties were going on AND the badger game!

It’s alright, nothing fancy, and I so wish the food looked like it was in the menu. The drinks are good but a bit overpriced. I’ve been here twice and the first time the chicken on my pasta was burnt and then I tried the pulled pork sandwich which did not have much taste. We came here for my birthday, just my boyfriend and I. He had never been to a D&Bs and was psyched for this! The welcoming/credit counter had only one person working it. The line began to grow and two other people jumped on to help customers. We only waited for about five minutes, which was perfectly fine. There was still nobody working the coat check in, so we decided to carry our coats around instead of taking them back to the car since it was snowing. We purchased about $120 worth of credits on our cards and began to browse the games. Im not kidding, one out of every five was broken or disgusting. The Tomb Raider game had a broken gun. The balls for skee ball felt like they were each covered in olive oil or some sort of grease, as did The Walking Dead game. The Mario game was broken, the Sonic game was broken, the rubber duck game was broken, the jumping jack game was broken, the fish bowl game was broken... get my point? Nobody was on the floor trying to fix anything, in fact, I never saw a worker from the time I bought credits until we left. When we left, there was a different girl working the counter and she had a line of like 5 families and no coat attendant to be found. We left after forty minutes and about $95 left on our cards. It was disappointing as this is my third time to a D&Bs and the first two times were great in Illinois. This experience in Madison was a hot mess. At least we can take our cards to a different D&Bs.

The staff and the games were excellent but the food left a lot to be desired we got the chicken strips and fries and the strips were kind of rubbery and one of the orders of fries was cold. The staff was fantastic tho I bought tokens thru the app and when my phone was incompatible with the system they were able to transfer my tokens to a physical card for me. Would definitely go again just maybe not for the food.

The last visit, we came in, sat down, aaand left after 10 minutes of nobody checking on us.The previous visit, the food was good but we had long waits between being checked on. Plus, even though we bought two of a drink that came with a cup, we only got one cup because they ran out. This wouldve been fine, but both drinks were full price. Cmon guys, that wouldve been an easy and cheap way to keep things even.Visit before that is the reason this is two stars. We had one waiter who left shortly after getting our drinks, another waiter who got our order and never appeared again, and then a third waiter who was actually a clearly overworked manager. She was great but we could tell she was overwhelmed because of poor staffing.The food is great, the games are fun, but whatever theyre paying staff clearly isnt enough because they dont do their jobs well and there arent enough of them. As this has been an issue every time weve visited, it is not a temporary problem and its not being worked on.

Our first experience was awesome. But today my wife took me for my birthday. Got a table right away. Then sat for 15 minutes with no menus or service. The waiting staff were just standing around laughing and joking around. Several people came in and got service but we did not. My wife was very upset because she was trying to make my day special.So we left and went somewhere else and got service right away. I dont even know where to begin, this was my first visit EVER to D&B. I decided to go with my family for dinner and to play some games. We first arrived and the greeting was good. We sat at the table, and waited for someone to come over and get our drink order in. We had to go back up to the front desk and ask for a waiter. Then LIZ came over. Took our drink order, came back and took our food order. She repeated everything back, and went to get it started. She then returned about 30 minutes later with my parties food, but not mine. She then said oh my bad i must not have put yours in I then decided i didnt want to make my party wait another 30 minutes for my meal when they were ready to play and leave as we all had to work early in the morning. She rolled her eyes when i told her she didnt need to place my order in as i didnt have time to wait. I then took the survey and was contacted my Aaron, who told me he would send me coupons to make up for the horrible experience we had. After asking for my address in an email, he then BLOCKED my emails. I will not be returning to this location as the customer AND management service are horrible. It wasnt even that busy when we were there so there should have been no reason for the service we got. There is a lot more to the story that im not even going to waste my time explaining as clearly complaints get nowhere at this location.

The staff is great, especially Nikkia in the bar (management she is a keeper!) Detailed oriented, took care of us from the moment we got through the door until we left. The games are on point, spent a few hours without even realizing it. Will be back for sure, and soon!

Food was terrible. Food took forever to get and was cold when we got it. Buns were crusty and not fresh. Of the four meals we got only one person liked there food. The server was instantly peeved when no one ordered a beer or drink. Overall I couldn’t wait to leave and will never go back.

Food was great and had lots of fun with my family. The games are super fun to play, and the half price Wednesdays are a steal. Servers were helpful. Food was excellent for the price (a bit too much, but food was great). Prices are really neat. Ive been trying to get the robot kit. Id definitely reccomend this place for families.

Prizes were a little disappointing. Lack of adult options and many needed to be restocked. Most games were in good working order and the building was very clean. Wednesday half price games are great.

The food was ok, but the presentation was horrible. I ordered the Dip Trio and was thoroughly disappointed. Everything looked like it was just thrown on the tray. The white queso dip bowl was half full and there was about 6 pieces of pulled pork. Not even close to the picture in the menu. The bloody mary I ordered was good although it had a bit too much ice for the price.I didnt game while I was there but I walked around the gaming area. It seems very clean and new. There are some really neat looking games.The prize room had good energy but the prizes werent anything special. Most looked cheap.

Had the smash burger sliders it was just a SMALL burger patty cut into 4 pieces on little buns, tasted good but would recommend just getting a large burger! Games were fun but most take 6 credits per play! Fun but its not something your going to do weekly because of the prices.

First time a a Dave & Busters and had a great time! Cold beer and tasty appetizers led into a night of games.The staff was very friendly and the games were really well maintained. Plenty of high end shooters and racing games, and a good variety of ticket games as well.Definitely going back again!

I was there for an event. The event organizers had told the restaurant to expect 150, but they were horribly understaffed - I think I saw two waitresses at most. Our waitress would take orders from a few people at the table, then wander off. We had a terrible time getting her to take our food orders, and our food didnt arrive until nearly the end of the event. One of the other people at my table ordered a veggie burger without cheese. When it arrived, it was obvious the burger had been cooked with cheese, and then the cheese was scraped off. Overall, the waitress didnt even acknowledge how horribly lax the service was by apologizing. I would definitely NOT recommend this place.

Great place for food and fun. Always a blast at this gaming establishment as well as some of the best food you can get in the area. Only reason for four stars is it’s a bit pricey but for the price it’s a whole lot of fun. Keep up the great work Dave and busters.

They were Super Busy. We were Told To sit anywhere By the host at the front, all the tables were dirty. When we did sit(after 5 minutes of walking to find a clean table) we got walked past by all staff and waiters for about 10-15 minutes - no menu, no drinks, no well be with you in a second . We eventually just got up and left. Probably not a bad place but go when it is NOT BUSY.

Found out that they got rid of tokens and now they take rechargeable cards which each one costs money just for the card or you could download the app and put it directly onto your phone. I was told that I could split the tokens on my phone to different cards so I purchased $80 worth of tokens to have them then tell me that I could not split between different cards and my phone which was extremely frustrating!The employees seemed like they didnt know what was going on with the new system and then found out that I could split them through the app after I had already left. WTF? The drinks and food are way overpriced so bottom line if youve got a lot of money to blow and time to mess around it could be an OK time

Sooooo good! Ordered a blueberry lemonade alcoholic drink that was delicious! The pizza pretzel appetizer was amazing too. My sirloin steak was cooked to perfection. The manager, Aaron (Doc), was friendly and helpful. And of course the arcade was fun.... My first time at Dave & Busters, and Im definitely a fan!

Really cool place to take yours kids ages 7 and up. Great games in great condition. Food is good and the bar calms those parental nerves. Just go. You’ll love it.

This is our 3rd DnB. My family and I traveled from the Rockford area for a night of food and game playing. When greeted at the door, we were told to pick a table near the bar because it was open seating. I told the hostess that all the tables were dirty and covered with food and garbage from previous families. She stated that it would be cleaned. West at a dirty table and waited 20 minutes. It was never cleaned and no one came to check on us (a manager and 3 waitresses walked past us many times). We moved to another (clean) table. We waited another 10 minutes before asked for drinks. Needless to say it took us 2 hours to get waited on and food. The games were good and the food tasted ok (mac n cheese was dry..not enough cheese and the fries were hard and old). The service was awful and we were ignored the whole time. There were times the front desk was left unattended as we waited to purchase game play cards. I do not recommend going to this Dave n Busters primarily due to the lack of management and service.

Great food, great drinks and fun games!!! Best for a family fun night. Staff was very helpful when a game didnt give me all my tickets. Cant wait to go back thanks Dave and Busters

40% of the games offline. Spoke with manager she said parts were ordered. Didnt offer anything for wasted trip and unused game play.

Its a little expensive for my liking, and the food isnt always the best (the fries are decent tho), but the gaming is awesome. For your birthday, you get unlimited blue game play, which is great if you want to have fun and not blow all your birthday cash.They also have a half off day which is great if you wanna play in the middle of the week

Great place for the family

My wife, who is 8 months pregnant, had to eat her meal with a skewer because our group of 12 was given one set of silverware to share, even after we asked multiple times for more. Our food was cold, even though it took a while to receive. Our water was room temperature. One member of our party was double charged for $25 worth of drinks and another didnt receive her food until well after everyone else had finished eating. Even her food was cold. A table next to us was even astounded at how poor we were treated.I could go on and on about how absolutely abhorrent the service was, but I imagine you get the idea.Honestly, I have never been more determined to never spend another dime somewhere.

Cool looking place but not real impressed with food or staff knowledge of menu, game cards, or Birthday options.

Ive been there twice in the last 2 months. I had never been there before and was very excited. The food? Phenomenal. Went back just to try more on the menu. The tacos are to die for.Had their long island peach tea too. It was fantastic.The first time I went I was on a date. Perfect date night.However, 2 of the games I paid for never worked and I couldnt find someone to get help.The second time I came was about a week later and I was alone.Everything I ate was still amazing. But the bartender I had was kind of rude to me at first until she warmed up to me. I still left a tip because Ive only not left a tip once in my life. But I felt like she didnt even want to be there.The bathrooms needed cleaning the second time I was there. But overall, was a blast. The games were great.Have to say on my first visit I had one of the best bartenders there ever. He was so happy to serve me and we got along great.

I have been here a few times, trying new things and have not liked any of the over priced food. They have great games but I dont like how they do their point system. Its almost impossible to actually use all of your credits. I probably wont be back.

Needs a lot of work. This place is a hit or miss on everything. I’ve gone quite a bit for happy hour and either the drinks aren’t good and the food is.... or you get good food and bad drinks. On this particular day went with my family. The wait staff took 20 mins to get to us. Then brought us cold food (which is nothing new). Although we did receive an apology, I’m seeing a pattern in dave and busters I’ve never seen in previous years. Pretty disappointing. I’ll be now limiting my trips to D&B

Birthday fun, free games on your birthday!

Wonderful way to spend the afternoon!!! Met up with a girlfriend in Madison and really had fun. Food was delicious and the Backwoods Blueberry Lemonade is my new favorite cocktail So many games to play - time few by. Will DEFINITELY be back! A must visit if you are looking for something a little different to do.

The first time I was here the server was great and food fairly decent. The second time I was with a larger party and the service was terrible, though the food was still good. Each time the games were all functional and clean, so still a fun time!I would suggest if you are with a larger party be assertive and let them know if you want to split the bill at the beginning of the meal.
