Its the kind of place where there are way more bridges than youd ever need. Some designer must have been given a lot of time and liberty here. Lots of really good standard photog backdrops here. Park benches and whatnot. Theres a secret island in the middle that nobody knows about, past all the fancy people playing tennis. In the winter, everybody is always flocking to slip on the ice on skates. First dates and five year olds.A draft of a short short story Im working on. Feel free to donate if it moves you.

Beautiful park. Nice waterways, including historic bridges. Lots of rain gardens with pollinators. Theres a beach and boardwalk with a lighthouse. There are public restrooms near one of the playgrounds (by the lake) and another by the locks. Lots of tennis courts.

What a beautiful spot! Feel free to fish, hike, take a leisurely walk, and NO SWIMMING. This is a beautiful spot for some professional photos because of the beautiful bridge here. When I went, I saw some people painting outside, and thought, what a great idea!

The park itself is quite nice if a bit generic but the people at it were largely not wearing masks because they probably lack both common sense and empathy.

We live right across from Tenney-Lapham and I’m entirely in love with this place. Every single day no matter the season you see people out here and they are the friendliest, when you’re at this park it almost feels like you’ve gone back in time to simple days and life!

Beautiful area to take the kids, photograph, go for a walk, or just to take in nature. I came here in mid May to fish and there was plenty of action. The beach offers some of the best views of the infamous Mendota sunset. I think this place would be perfect for a weekly food truck festival.

Tenny Park is beautiful, with its many bridges, waterways, and a gorgeous view of Mendota on the pier. Be warned, the grass fields are often flooded (reason its 4 starts and not 5), if you plan to be in the grass wear shoes that can get muddy. Theres also lots of geese, but there isnt much to be done about that. Theres a sand volleyball court, tennis courts, and skating in the winter. Definitely a great place to enjoy Madisons beautiful summer, but you may find it a bit too soggy in the spring.

Tenney park and locks is an essential element of Madison. An excellent place to shore fish, the park is also a very nice place for a walk or run anytime. Good neighborhood, quite safe. Try ice skating at the pond during the winter, can be a great time.

We went on a pontoon boat ride for a friends Birthday last month and again tonight. Was perfect weather and no bugs and a lovely sunset. Check out the schedules and places at MSCR (Madison School Community Recreation) only $5 for 1.5 hrs+ free parking! The water is still high after all the rain we got last Aug so we couldnt go to Lake Monona. Loved it

I played in this park as a kid!Theres fishing here, boating, a little beach , and a newly renovated shelter that you can tmtent out! Thats wgere I used to TRY to ice skate as a kid lol! I stll love this park and my favorite thing to do as an adult is go out on the locks and watch the sunset! Theres volleyball net by beach and if you go to that smaller parking lot by beach house theres a really cool tree that looks like its an island...used to pretend we were on Gilligans island there as kids! Oh and did i mention picnicing(grilling), as well as beautiful bridges!! Its one of Madisons most beautiful parks, and I am a Madison veteran so I have been to a lot of them but none cimpares here you wont be disapointed!
