Love my parish. Monsignor Holmes is great.

I have attended several masses here over many years.(35+) I believe they still have a Saturday night service . I used to like to get the jump on Sunday - so I could sleep in Saturday AND Sunday! St. Patricks Church is an Elegant Church in the usual style of most Catholic churches, but is not over the top. Very friendly, very comfortable. The masses on Saturday evening where usually a little shorter too. (About 45min.)

Beautiful place of worship.

Most ridiculous mass I ever been to. It was the annual Bishop’s appeal. The video didn’t work and priest tediously spent 20 minutes going through the donation form during the service until we couldn’t take it any longer and we left. It was our first time there. My son moved to Madison recently and we were encouraging him to find a local church. The only concern of this church was money which is the greatest turn off to anyone ambivalent about the Catholic Church. This church supports the stereotype that all the church cares about is the almighty dollar not God.

I am an out of towner and found the 11 a.m. mass on Sunday by internet.It was a very uplifting and prayerful experience, with beautiful choir singing and a nice and heartfelt sermon by the priest.Wish I could stop by more often!

Love the peace there

So, I go here every Sunday and I love it. I and my family just became Catholic last Easter and my wife and I went through RCIA here (which is one of the church buildings that makes up Madisons Cathedral Parish. The other is Holy Redeemer.). We chose St. Patricks because the RCIA class was super solid (and we had some super serious questions) and we stayed because the Mass is so beautiful and reverent. There are two things that are drawbacks for us, though. 1. Its not close to our home on the West side, which makes for a bit of a commute. There are several other families who have commutes and so it can be tricky to build community, but there are some regular social events that help mitigate that. 2. The Mass is at 11:00. Since Im teaching Religious Ed for 2nd graders before hand, and we have 4 small kids, by the time we get done with Mass on Sundays, Im completely wiped.

This church is old and quiet. Nice place to spend a few hours in prayer.
