My spouse took me here for my birthday to do the sloth interaction. We met Lola and Sid and it was an unforgettable experience. Lea was awesome, she was informative and very friendly. The center was well taken care of and all the staff was very helpful. They have hourly animal talks and those are really fun. This place is awesome! We will be back!

What a beautiful place. Obviously before lockdown. Loved every bit of it. Fantastic people, enthusiastic and happy. Beautiful art, very unusual and fascinating. The location is unique with amazing views over the beach and sadly also the oil rigs. I guess if you ignore what they stand for they are beautiful out there as mini islands. The restaurant was a bit too busy on this gorgeous day. Kids playing around the art in the garden. The restaurant terrace was bustling with people. Lovely also how there is art everywhere in the historic museums building. The original building is mostly cafe/restaurant but everywhere one can find lovely art. Great story also about how the building got to be where it is now. All absolutely wonderful.

This intimate museum set to take advantage of Long Beachs pretty shoreline is a very nice way to spend part of a day. The two exhibits we saw, California Women Artists and California Design 1955, were well-curated and lovely surveys. Well be back on our next visit.

This is a smallish but charming place near the beach. The gallery spaces are well lighted and airy. Adam Harrisons show (runs through mid-January) is installed in the 2nd floor gallery which has a good view of the beach which is highly appropriate given the subject matter of some of the pieces in his exhibition called Place. Definitely worthwhile if you are in the area.

Small museum build inside of a quaint but sturdy large Craftsman-style house. The exhibit I saw December 2019 had fiber art-works (yarn and fabric) with interesting hangings and objects. The print and paper arts were fascinating to me, since I am a fan of that. If you are a fan of wonderful coffee and breakfast, Claires restaurant is attached. They serve an incredible Creme Brulee French toast and the breakfast burrito is delicious too. It is not cheap but it has quality ingredients. Ill be going back.

What a beautiful spot! Weve photographed several weddings here and the atmosphere, location, views and the accommodating staff is second to none. There are so many little hidden spots where you can get great photos and with the museum area right next door you can really get creative with the space. Not only that, the food is great and people are always there to help you. We went on an off day too and the positive energy we got from the bar tender was on another level. This place is definitely doing it right

This charming museum only has a few small galaries, but they were thoughtfully curated. When I visited they were showing lesser known gay artists. This museum has wonderful exhibits and is a nice venue when visiting Long Beach. As someone who thinks supporting art in all forms is very important to community texture, I happily bought a membership and was planning to do so each year. However, my most recent visit was very frustrating when I arrived to be told my guest had to pay. I bought the membership with the yourself and one guest free benefit. I was told it was a new policy but they would waive it this time. But thats not the point. Perhaps its in the fine print that they can switch up benefits whenever they want, but its very disappointing and a discouragement to buy another membership because I have no idea what Ill be getting should another policy change come about.

It took us less than two hours to go through this small museum, but the three shows going on during our visit were thoughtfully chosen and presented. The curator(s) clearly cares about the community and has made an effort to showcase local artists; I was really impressed by the art and the innovative way the staff used the small space and resources. While we visited, there was a class of young students (kindergarten?) enjoying a field trip. I couldnt help eavesdropping on the docent; I enjoyed listening to her guiding the students through the exhibits and inviting them to look at and think about the art in different ways. The museum has a second floor and a basement, where a childrens activity room and the restrooms are located; happily, they have an elevator to accommodate visitors with mobility issues. Do go outside to see the plastic seal sculpture next to the education building. The cafe in the back is a pleasant place to while away an hour before walking out to the beach.

Went in the evening with our family and 2 children. The staff was super rude to us and basically followed us around the whole time saying to close or no. There are obvious lines on the ground to not pass but apparently they decided we couldn’t figure that out for ourselves. We left soon after arriving due to them making us feel so uncomfortable. If they don’t want children inside it should say no kids allowed. Extremely disappointed.

The location is great and the high school art in the basement was fun. The pen drawings and etchings were interesting as was the surf photos..however...we paid. $10 and went through the whole thing in less than hour. I dont think they should charge at all and just take donations. There wasnt enough to look at for the money and as an artist I was disappointed that for the first time ever I left a museum not very inspired. I may try again when they have new exhibits and hope they expand the volume of art to display.I do look forward to trying the restaurant next door. You cant beat the views and outdoor sculptures.
