This place is a must visit in Lockhart. It was built before WW2 and still has many of the original structures when it it was showing vaudeville. Now it is a thriving community theater. They have done an excellent job of providing live theater with safe social distancing protocols in this difficult time.

Lovely theater with a vintage feel. Community theater at its best. Great entertainment at a very low price. Eat dinner downtown Lockhart and walk one block past the amazing Court House on the historic square to the theater.

This theater has all of the charm of long ago, with an amazing troupe of actors which provide an extra special experience. Harvey was incredible! Kudos to the entire cast, and lots of love to Terri Merritt Bennett and Steve Lawson for a memorable matinee.

Gaslight Baker is a gem in the crown of Lockhart. Its a quaint historic old theater thats home to a thriving productive community theater group. Great shows, wonderful performers, great atmosphere... and I hear they are expanding!

Movie Night! Its been 35 years since movies were last shown at the theater. Protector equipment was purchased and screen hardware installed. Lots of electrical work done. I hope this will continue. Its a fun, inexpensive night out. Join the mailing list and enjoy the movie.

This is a cute community theater. They offer concessions, including alcoholic beverages. We sat in the balcony, which had a marvelous view.

This theater is such a hidden gem just a short drive outside of the Austin city limits. We have enjoyed every performance that weve seen here and love the small town ambiance.

Excellent small town historic theater that stages plays, Vaudeville acts, USO tributes, and musical performances throughout the year. All of these productions are usually performed by local area actors and directors, and they are always high quality and excellent productions. And the stage sets and design are top quality as well. A must visit destination!

A hidden, little historic theatre in a quintessential small Texas town. We usually grab dinner and drinks on the square and catch a show. The volunteers are awesome... plus they have complimentary beer and wine! Its a great experience, and worth seeking this place out.

Professional performances at a great price. We arent talking Broadway, but the productions are very well done. They draw you in and you forget that you are watching local performers. Makes for a great evening.

It was recommended by a friend so we went for the first time to see Beckys New Car and loved it. This is a perfect place for a date night. I will definitely be back for more.

Among the most famous of Texas community theatres. The stage does Not have curtains , stage lights function for opening and closing is plays , etc. Always thought that weird but unique for the sake of pure theatrical arts.

We danced on stage at the GBT this past weekend during the Hat Rods and Hatters Car Show!!! Tammy Francis helped put it all together with many different shows all day, and it included Ruiz Dance Studios Ballet Folklorico Tonántzin! Larry, the Tech Guy, ran the music and the lights, while I directed backstage! We did it! Thank you so much for allowing us to dance in your space, and not just in your theater, but in your hearts!!!

Tonight was the opening night of Doublewide Texas. We thought it was very funny and extremely entertaining. We look forward to seeing more performances through out the 2018 season.

I love this little theater! Firstly, there is not a bad seat in the house! Secondly, what started out as supporting a friend turned into a little bit of a love affair as I absolutely adore local theater and establishments such as the Gaslight Baker.I have now seen two shows here and both were phenomenal! The first one I saw was Panic! and the most recent was A Tuna Christmas. I had bought tickets to see the opening show for a friends birthday and my stomach muscles got a full on workout as I did not stop laughing! The one-liners in this play about a tiny Texas town and its various characters Xmas adventures is very much along the lines of Steel Magnolias.The accents, costumes, personalities and sass throughout were just great!Also, neat little perk here is they have a little snack selection, decent popcorn and wine/beer for purchase by donation.Cant wait to see what is coming up next season! I am looking forward to Arsenic & Lace! Driving from Austin out here is worth it as the Theater is right off the main square, so ifs like a little Artscation from the hustle and bustle of ATX!

A gem of a theater experience!Superb entertainment is getting harder and harder to come by. This was a small town surprise! Dont let the intimate setting fool you. This cozy atmosphere delivers professional productions. Look forward to a memorable evening of theater. As a bonus, the cafe behind stays open late to accommodate attendees and performers.
