It was nice but most of the buildings around the museum were closed due to covid. You have to make a reservation and only stay 1 hour but it is free.

First of all, free!This is a great spot to take the kids, see some art, learn some history and pet.... wait, no! So you can’t pet or feed the animals but they are still fun to look at. The farm and homestead take you right back to what it would have been like in the 1800’s and the “actors” are ready to answer your questions from the time. There’s also a gift shop if you want to take home a memory.

This place is a gem. I came to Denver for a work trip and brought my kids. I could have spent a lot more time at the Littleton Museum. There’s a lot for kids to do and it was really educational. We loved seeing the animals and seeing the differences in the historic farms after the railway was put in. I highly recommend a stop here if you love history, have kids, or just breath oxygen.

Good family fun. Takes you back to the 1800s with a home stead and a small farm, Always bountiful with animals. The lake is a great place to rest and the garden is bursting with interesting plants. The indoor part takes you through the history of littelton with interesting facts about its development. It also includes an art exhibit and a gift shop where you can purchase many fun keep sakes.

I like to come here when my kids and I need to get outside but I also dont want to go to the playground again. Its free and great for small kids. Kids who cant walk much would be better in a carrier or stroller. The outside is all dirt paths, so bring shoes and strollers you dont mind getting muddy. The farm is still active, so plants and animals change and its fun to see the changes over the seasons. The blacksmiths are fun to watch and are good at explaining what they do to kids. No food or drinks (except water) are allowed inside. There is a little play place inside the indoor museum with a kitchen.

All our family members love coming to the Littleton Museum. Its also a great place to bring your guests who live in other towns. Our 4-year old son and I mostly visit the outside animals (sheep, horses, chickens) however the inside exhibits are great as well. my hubby likes historic sites located outdoors. Would definitely recommend visiting!

My sister with her daughter came from Phoenix for a long weekend and we decided to visit the Littleton Museum. It offers a variety of entertainment for the whole family, from two living 19th-century farms, with docents and activities for children, to museum exhibits of interest to adults. There were lots to see in just a few hours. Great learning experience! Would highly recommend visiting!

My kids and I liked the 1860s homestead and the 1890s barn. Unfortunately I have to agree that the animals seem not well taken care of...it looked like the stables havent been cleaned in months and the water was dirty and green.Personally I also did not like the WWI exhibit and even found it a little offensive as Germans were portrait as the bad people... in a good exhibit about WWI it should be mentioned that WWI started because of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary by a Serbian nationalist. The first country to declare war in WWI was actually Austria-Hungary not Germany.

We are from Colorado Springs and drove up to check out the culture and it was pretty awesome for a day trip. The only thing that was a bummer was there was one gallery open for viewing which almost caused a 4 star but the redemption for the 5th was the fact that we had 5 kids and they were never bored. They definitely enjoyed the working farm and towns set up for both the 1860s and 1890s.Admission was free when we went so this was definitely worth the visit ;)

I have been going to The Littleton Museum and Farm for years now and I have always had a great experience there. I think it is a blessing to have such a good museum and farm free of charge. My two year old son absolutely loves going to the farm because farm animals are his favorite animals. Today I had a great time with my son at the farm and upon entering the museum I decided to go into the gift shop to buy some farm toys and books for my son. The gift shop is small so I made sure to have my son close to my side the entire time. There were a lot of toys and books so I took a few stuffed animals from a shelf to show him and I also showed my son a couple of books. Each time I would place the item back exactly where it came from. I also read the first two pages of about three books when the younger of the two ladies from the front desk stated in a very condescending manner to “refrain from reading the books” because “there is a reading area with plenty of books and really comfy chairs.” I have never heard that a person should not look through a book before purchasing it. I was very confused by her comment towards me and unfortunately her comment really made the experience a bit negative. I was the only person in the gift shop with every intention to spend my money on a few items, but due to her condescending comment, I decided to leave right away.

This museum is free but accepts donations. It is a wonderful representation of the 1800s with houses, school, animals, blacksmith. Animals are always fun and you can get close up. Most buildings are self guided. During the summer the garden is beautiful. Great gift shop and the indoor museum had alot of history regarding Littleton. All around great place to spend time!

I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and I always loved it!I was raised by a single mom so money was very tight and I’m so greatful that this place is/was free because it afforded me great memories of fun field trips.I always learned so much while at the museum from the volunteers and loved envisioning what it would have been like to have lived during this time.Even as an adult I still love coming here and have just as much fun as I did when I was a kid!

This place would be great if the animals were better cared for. Surprised by all the great reviews of people who bring kids here. Is that how you want your kids to treat other living beings? Its was around 90 degrees some animals had no shelter and some had no water. Some animals had water but it was very very dirty. My kids are still upset about how they saw these animals kept. Hopefully someone will read this and change some things because everything else was so cool and i loved it

Wouldnt let me enter with a camera because i had a tripod/it wasnt a small camera LOL. Wasted a trip here, even worse that they falsey advertise saying hobbyist photography is allowed. Terribly boring museum anyway, just like to walk around the lake and see the animals, but they dont want you to take pictures without paying a crazy amount. Im not making money off my pics, why should you? Absolutely ridiculous when every phone is basically a professional camera.Maybe they dont want you to see how poorly they care for their animals... Almost like they live in the 1800s (;

Hi,My name is Glenys van Aswegen and I am from South Africa. I am here visiting my daughter in Denver and we visited the museum yesterday.My first impression of the museum was great. The facility is clean and the displays are informative and very interesting.However, I was a little saddened when I walked through the farm section of the museum.It was a very hot day and the sheep were all fighting for a little shade created by the fence enclosure. There is no natural shade for these poor animals. Also their water was filthy and standing in the baking sun!!!The rams enclosure was even more distressing. He was just lying in the baking sun and his water was so contaminated with mosquito lava that I cant imagine when last it was actually cleaned.The turkeys were walking around in their very uninteresting enclosure, panting from the heat and there was no water in sight!!!The pig looked comfortable enough but even his enclosure was extremely poor and dirty.I think the Littleton Museum should take a good look at the image they are wanting to create - especially in the farmyard area.The basic requirements for keeping animals is very basic - a good enclosure, protection from the elements, fresh water and clean food.I think the museum has failed to conform with these basic requirements and feel that an animal inspection should be made to your facility.Kind regardsAnimal activist.
