Admission is $14 for adults and $10 student per person. It is an outdoors sculpture museum and indoor art museum. Museum is not too big but has some wonderful pieces. The weather wasnt perfect when we went to the sculpture park.. it was hard to spot pieces with all the leaves and snow around. It would be nice to visit this place when it is a dry day. Ample free parking. Clean restrooms. Terrace with lake view.

Great place to get kids moving and exploring during these times. Easy to practice social distancing, pet (on leash) friendly, clean restrooms - only one person in space at a time, beautiful grounds, and great for picnics! I took three elementary schoolers ages seven and eight.

This park was a really great way to spend the afternoon outdoors. The art is lovely and the grounds are very well maintained.I only wish the parents who bring their kids here would please keep them off the sculptures. Throughout the park there were parents photographing children climbing all over art immediately beside signs that say PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE ART and NO CLIMBING ON THE SCULPTURES.Everything here is so nice and its a real shame to see fully-grown adults disrespecting the museum, the art, and the artists like that.

Its covid times and the outside is open. It was fun taking the grandchildren here for Nona and Ra-Ra adventures. You can even have a picnic there. There was staff walking around cleaning high touch areas. There are maintained bathrooms available. It would have been nice to have a brochure with the art info to have to read and have the children able to read. The outdoor is medium accessible for handicap.scooter limited access. The price of $15.00 a car is very, very reasonable and we did have a very nice time. There was even more sculptures than the last time we had visited. The children enjoyed seeing so e of the ones from before.

Great fun especially in nice weather. The outdoor sculptures are unique and often very large, complementing the rolling expanse of museum grounds. Modest cafe but tons of items at the gift shop. The indoor museum varies depending on the current exhibition. Not always as much of a draw as the grounds. Kids really enjoy the outdoor installations.

With a vast collection of pieces scattered thru fields, woods, rolling paths, beside a scenic lake, this is a glorious spot both to view art in the round & be out in nature. Easy distancing makes this sculpture garden perfect for the pandemic. Plus, the QR codes for most pieces offer helpful instruction & provocative suggestions.

Fantastic. One of our go-tos. Sculptures are both indoors (but not during the pandemic) and outdoors and cycle regularly. The grounds are also in great condition and are well maintained. Lots of hills, some steep. Wonderful for taking photos. We love picnicking here as it doesnt attract the riffraff that public parks and beaches do. Plenty of shaded areas.Ample paved parking with clearly marked spots.Typically spend about two hours here. Using strollers is possible, but many of the outdoor sculptures are not on paved grounds, so youll be taking your little ones off roading.

The museum inside was closed because of the pandemic, so just rating on the outside sculpture Park. The exhibits were uninteresting, uninspired, old, and lifeless. Grounds were fine, but nothing noteworthy. No maps available. Really, a walk around in the woods would have resulted in more interesting finds. Maybe 2 sculptures held some talent, the rest looked like just some construction of the artists kids drawings. And each description was pretentious and reeked of trying too hard to find meaning in some messy clump of metal or sticks.

Creative and high quality art is shown on the gorgeous museum grounds and the building has lots of works inside that are worth checking out. A true gem of a museum surrounded by a marvelous sculpture park extending over many acres and hills. The park is immaculately kept, featuring over a hundred contemporary artists’ sculptures, with a wide range of themes. One of my favorite is Paul Matisse’s immersive sound sculpture that delights every time. The deCordova is simply a most beautiful environment for long strolls amongst trees, rock gardens, waterfalls, woods, lawns, and beautiful art, during any season. Do visit the museum as well for their curated exhibitions.

Hadnt been here in years, but during covid I gained new excitement for it. Beautiful grounds and pleasant strolling among the varied artwork. Nice place to picnic, as long as you carry all your trash out with you. During covid, number of cars entering is limited and online tix are $15/car, so its probably way less crowded than in usual circumstances. Highly recommended!

A mix of interesting and unusual art spaced around lovely grounds. Fun wandering even on a cold winters day, particularly towards sunset where the light catches several pieces particularly well.It is a shame most pieces cant be touched as they beg to be interacted with. On a 40 degree day in January we were still able to appreciate the expansive grounds deCordova sits on. The indoor exhibits were interesting, though I felt myself wishing the decor called back the time period of the deCordova castle similar to the way things are handled for the interior of the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum. We kept seeing pictures of how parts used to look, but then a garden patio would be bare or a room would be white-walled to look like an exhibit hall, not a room in a castle. It was a little muddy in places due to recent weather but the views ranged from pretty to breathtaking as we moved from one outdoor installation to the next.

So many different genres/subjects of art to see! It is also nice to have both indoor and outdoor artworks to view. They allow dogs that are leashed in the sculpture park, but not the indoor museum. Please remember to clean up after your pet in order to keep this option available! The only downside to deCordova is the cafe, it is tiny, a bit pricey for average food. If you are planning to spend the day, I would suggest packing a picnic- there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy it!
