I am not from Kansas however, Ive read articles about this particular bar and about an individual known as Albert N. Wilson. Couple of questions that come across my mind and this maybe the Northeast speaking, but why are your bartenders selling alcohol to underage kids? Normally throughout the U.S the legal drinking limit is 21, depending if a State decreases that restriction. I also looked up your State restrictions and Kansas State age limit is 21.So again, why did you sell alcohol or let---at the time---that 17 year old girl into your establishment?An additional side question, how many others---whether it be young ladies or gentleman--- have you let into your establishment without Identifying theyre age to enter?This club needs to be investigated!

The Jayhawk Cafe is of incalculable value to anthropogists. The fossilized vomit that has warped much of the wood allows us to recreate the diet of 16-18 year old Lawrence natives and travelling nomads known colloquially as out of state students. Using advanced crystallography techniques, we have discovered that those who drank here had diets which consisted of vodka, red bull, and bovine urine, also known as bud light. We suspect that this was a sacred ground where libations of low quality alcohol were poured in honor of a local deity known as a Kansas Jayhawk. Some have postulated that this libation ritual at times involved fornication, as used contraceptives have recently been uncovered at the site.

The Jayhawk cafe is an interesting place where your wildest and worst nightmares can come true. That being said, it harvests an unforgettable atmosphere that I will truly treasure for the rest of my life. The key is maintaining a sense of purpose, dignity and consciousness. Like any good game of chess, you have right and wrong moves and at this bar, you will more than likely do them all. Good luck, stay safe and leave your debit card at home because its going to be one hell of a ride.

Horrible people. Frat boy idiots. Cant even get a beer for an old alum on gameday... morons. Bartenders are patient because they have to deal with total dipsticks all day... but a terrible place, none the less.... grow up, yuppies

Nothing good happens at The Hawk. First, the only people in the bar are ages 18-19, so you feel like youre surrounded by children. Secondly, if you could only see the place in the light, it would inspire you to add to the vomit and other filth already all over the floor. Thirdly, whether youre male or female, there is a high chance that you will have a wasted freshman try to grind on you, or feel the clenching of a hand on your buttock. Lastly, almost every person that works there, from bouncers to bartenders to owners, is a surly and inconsiderate cretin.I have stories for days. None of them are good.

The bathrooms were disgusting and the floor was sticky...you’d think with the amount of money they rake in on the weekends from their overpriced drinks they be able to afford to clean it...or remodel since the faucet in the women’s restroom was barely hanging on by a thread...

If you’re a student at KU you have to experience it, although it isn’t exactly everyone’s style of a night out Forsure, can be chaotic but fun

The most infamous college bar in Lawrence. The Hawk is a favorite of college freshman. Dollar night is worth experiencing once.

I’m a 32 year old white man and i have read articles about a certain “Albert N. Wilson” and how he was sentenced horrendously because of this cafe, if I were African-American , I’d stay far away for sure !
