We went to the art studio for first Friday and to enjoy the we love our pets series. Our 5 year old daughter had submitted a painting and was thrilled to have it displayed in a real art studio. The studio is gorgeous and boasts so much character from the moment you walk in. They had light refreshments which were complimentary and also some vendors there you could purchase items from (cupcakes, pet toys, accessories, etc.)

We had the wedding reception here came out so beautiful. The set up and serves was delightful. Thank you April for everything you are beautiful person

Although the exhibit was over early we went to view I must give credit to Lena who went out of her way to show us around and make us feel comfortable of our visit. I have been there before for exhibits that I enjoyed and will certainly return. Once again thanks for making our visit enjoyable.

What started as a disappointed visit turned into a very nice one. We went to see a photo display that was listed as being there until end a JanUpon our arrival we were informed it had already ended. Lena ask is if we would like to tour the studio. She proceeded to provide a very informable and enjoyable tour.Thank for turning a negative trip to a positive trip..

I have to say April and her staff, especially James are the best. They did a fantastic job in organizing my Birthday party there last December, and they did it all within 5 weeks, unbelievable. The place was beautifully decorated, and she has the most fabulous table linen collection Ive ever seen. She did everything that was asked of her and then some. The party was enjoyed by all that attended, and i would definitely call on her again.Thanks April...

Nice little studio really good for intimate events

We had our daughters wedding at MAS two weekends ago and I am still getting emails from guests who loved the venue. It was a later wedding and we had time to enjoy downtown Lancaster then celebrate with us in the evening. I couldnt think of a better place to have a wedding. Thank you April!

We approached Mulberry Art Studios within 5 months of our wedding date, and we were absolutely blown away with their service. April, Lynda, and the entire staff did everything they could to make sure our day was perfect. They were a delight to work with, and the venue has so much to offer! Its a beautiful venue, and they allow access to so many of their decorations/centerpieces, that very little was required of us in terms of decorating the place ourselves. They also provided a very personal touch; from making sure their lobby colors matched our wedding colors, to providing my wife and I with an AMAZING team of workers that met our every need. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone, and we would definitely utilize their services again in the future!

Nice venue but people who run the place were odd and walked around during the party. An improvement in hospitality and professionalism may help for better experiences in the future.

Went to a wedding here. It was beautiful and very well done. Worth a look just to walk around inside. Very cool architecture and some excellent art.

Went on fist Friday art was nice there was snack food and wine.

Great place to gather and have a function

The Spanish man that cleans is crazy. Be careful. He lives in the basement of the center. Hes racist, and goes around talking about how he hates gay people..Just plain rude. Even with complaints from customers, other employees and her own husband, the owner, April doesnt get rid of him. Even when paying customers and paying artists request him not to be there (because he makes everyone uncomfortable) the OWNER disregards your request. Be careful.

Beautiful place, a little overpriced for renting it out. Some of the staff is rude but the owner is extremely nice. I would recommend for events for the beautiful atmosphere and the owner is very talented in making your event amazing, just be aware you will be paying a pretty penny.

Beautiful place to have a gathering

Do not use the Mulberry Party Center, err, sorry, Mulberry Art Studios for any event. Heres why...April Koppenhaver has run this place as a party venue for years and years. She puts as little money into it as she can and charges all the traffic will bear. Your money will be better spent at a place that has things like, real parking, a real, licensed bar (well get into in a moment) and can clean their building.The Lancaster Bureau of Police are regular guests at April unlicensed party palace. She doesnt have or suggest security so when her events are over attended, be they dance parties or drunken weddings, the guests spill onto the street and trouble ensues. Shell lie, its what April does and say this never happens. But your event is likely the next one the Police will be called in on.The problems are many and the real crux of the issue is, Aprils business is something called Mulberry Real Estate. She bought these buildings years ago, on the cheap and has slapped paint, in some cases on them and is not renting them as though they are new, updated venues for parties, dances, drunken festivals, concerts, you name it. I know, I lived not fifty feet from April and her antics for thirteen years.Some of the spaces are visually nice but overall, the building isnt and the way theyll run your event leaves you open to liability and all kinds of troubles.Since Mulberry Arts Studio isnt a bar or a restaurant April can skirt the laws and tell you can bring in whatever you want to eat or drink. But it also means that there are no standards or cleanliness or regulations on the booze to make sure the party stays in control. Your guests will on not thank you when they get food poisoning because of Mulberry Arts Studios lack of standards.In the end, there are lots of great venues downtown. Avoid the problem you will encounter with April, her oftentimes wacky staff and her crumbling collection of buildings. Rent another venue and you will be much happier. And in not dealing with April, youll find that promises will be kept and youll be told the truth and not Aprils constant stream of BS.Avoid Mulberry Art Studios. Youll be glad you did.

Everyone tells us how beautiful our wedding was, and I have to say that most of the credit goes to Mulberry Art Studios. They did above and beyond what we asked for as far as decorations and setting up for the guests. The people who work at MAS are very friendly.That being said, we do have some fairly major complaints with respect to the customer service at MAS.First, trying to get a hold of anyone at MAS was very frustrating. The only times anyone got back to us in a timely manner (i.e. within 24-48 hours) was: 1) when we were initially considering to book with MAS, and 2) on the week of our wedding. Most of the time we had to call back several times before we got someone who could answer our questions. Or, they would tell us that someone would call us back, but no one ever would.Second, there were several times when we set up appointments to meet with a specific person at MAS but they werent there. They would either give us a proxy who could not actually help us with what we specifically said we needed, or no one was there to help us at all.Finally, the process of paying for the event itself was very confusing and stressful. When we signed our contract no one properly explained the fee process. We were given one amount in our contract with little to no explanation as to what this amount meant. We found out after the wedding (when they sent us the bill) that the amount on the contract did not include the cost of some services and linens etc. That would have been fine, except that we felt blindsided when we realized we owed them several hundred dollars more than we expected.Previously, we said they went above and beyond what we asked for. When we met with them, we asked for a certain number of linens. MAS used extra linens to make our wedding beautiful. They did not tell us this would incur additional charges. They also charged us for removing lights that we did not want, rather than telling us that it would cost us to take them away.We took a very laid back approach to our wedding. All in all, we were very pleased with MAS on the day of our wedding. However, the details leading up to and following the wedding make it hard to give more than a mediocre review.We do not believe that the problems we experienced with MAS were an attempt to take advantage of us. It seems more likely that the way MAS is run is very disorganized. They are very good at making a beautiful venue. Its the numbers, the schedules and the money that are poorly managed.

I came here for a concert on the second floor, so didnt see much of the art studio itself. But the atmosphere was awesome!

April will sell you false hopes and dreams. She wont deliver half of her promise. Make sure you check the refrigerator before putting anything in it, it was absolutely disgusting. There were mice running around and the man that cleans up is rude to anyone who walks through the front door. The other employees fear him. Hes racist, judgmental and hates gay people and will have no problem stating so. Wish I wouldve known the disappointment I was going to have by booking here. Be careful and MAKE SURE everything is in writing. April will always find a way to cover her own ass FIRST.
