Always have plenty of frozen fish food available as well as wood and rocks for scaping a tank but never any black worms. Some employees can be a little condescending with how to care for the fish but i understand why however they should really work on how to educate someone vs talking down to an individual. Good selection of fish BUT i do see a lot of ill fish, i understand that they come from large farms but quarantining them before selling them would be very much appreciated. They do however have a really great selection of plants! I will continue to go to this store though some improvements can be made.

This place is the s knees. Great place to stop and pick up some of those big olsquishy horn worms.This particular time we bought a little fishypoo as well, hes the pretty one in the pictures. The puffer fish is one that was in a tank there and I must say all of their creatures look FANTASTIC!!!

That Fish Place might be a nice brick and mortar store based with good reviews but online order of aquarium plants is quite problematic. I found That Fish Place looking for aquarium plants that are reasonably close to where I live. My local LFS is not that good and we have no other choices.Based in Lancaster, I knew that would be a day or two tops of ground shipping to me so I decided to check them out.First the good parts: my plants arrived quickly, within a day once the order got straightened out. The plants were well packaged, good quality and healthy, as good as I might get anywhere else.The huge problem was with ordering. Ive never seen anything like it. Online it will tell you what is in stock and what is not, like any other site you order from. However none of that matters. I completed and paid for my order of in-stock items only to get an email a couple days later that literally half of my stuff was actually not in stock. Some items they could not give me the quantity I ordered (e.g. we only have 1 of the 2 you ordered) and others were just out of stock. I dont understand that at all except that maybe for them, your order is more like a wish list. You order, and pay for it, but then you have to wait for them to contact you and tell you what they actually have and then adjust your order. Thats a big PITA to have a delayed two step process to order plants, and not the experience you will get from other online aquarium plant vendors.Worse, when my order came, it was incorrect from what they said they could deliver and what was on the packing slip. It had extras of one plant that they said were limited and did not come with things they said they did have and charged me for (I ordered 5 anubias plants, which they confirmed they had, charged me for and was on the packing slip but I only got 2). I didnt bother trying to get it straight with them after I received the plants. I figured I would just write-off the experience and not order from them again.So in summary, I see a lot of good reviews for them but they appear to be mostly from locals visiting the store. For internet purchases of plants they are too unreliable to order from. Their online inventory seems to have no relation to what they actually have and are able to ship. It is all a big shame, I really wanted to like them!

They have so many live critters we just stop to walk through and see everything. The fish room alone can captivate you for an hour or more. We love stopping here anytime we are in Lancaster.

Ample items for various pets. Great discounts if youre a member. Plenty of parking. The fish stock room is hit or miss but overall a great place to shop.

I have 4 dogs and 5 cats. One of those dogs is a new puppy. I found everything I needed and then some lol. That fish place was clean and tidy and the staff was wonderful. Social distancing is being practiced and it was an enjoyable experience all around.

I came in for the first time last Thursday morning. We just moved here and a friend suggested I visit. We own a few reptiles so I came in to get crickets and a mouse for our snake. Everything was very clean and and nice looking so I was impressed. The staff on the other hand were not friendly or helpful in the slightest! It took me 5 minutes to get noticed waiting at the counter in a room with no other costumers while one of the employees was taking care of animals and the other girl was playing on their phone, seemingly unaware that I was even there. Even after I got noticed the employees seemed annoyed that I needed help. I was extremely disappointed and hope next time the service isn’t so terrible.

I went here with my girlfriend to get a hamster and the associate we worked with (Alyssa) helped us out with everything we could ever need. She was super knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. You can tell that the people working there really care about the animals in their care. Our hamster is still happy and healthy a few days later! I was also very impressed with how they handled keeping everyone safe during this pandemic. High quality place to get everything you could ever need for your pets!

It’s about an hour away and I haven’t been there but I have ordered online and I’m very impressed. The bulb the extremely way packaged to the point it was so protected it was hard to get out. The shipping took 2 days 1 day to process and 1 day delivery. It was like amazon prime but with better packaging and way cheaper. I’m very impressed this and can’t wait to make the trip up there and see the store

I bought my pet ball python named Snassafras at this pet store on September 28th 2019 and I love him! ️ he’s the most docile snake I’ve ever interacted with! I was told he was abandoned and had been in poor health not being able to shed his eye caps properly. The pet store must of really took good care of him because by the time I gave him a home he’s one healthy snake and hasn’t had any health complaints for the entire year I’ve owned him! The anniversary of adopting him is coming up so soon!

We always enjoy going here. We have dogs, cats, hermit crabs and a new addition 2 rats. In the past we have also bought ferrets many years ago here. Lately they are out of alot of items we need so we been ordering on Amazon. But if its in stocks we always buy there first.

This store is our absolute favorite pet store ever. We recent got betta fish (4 all in separate tanks) and That Fish Place has the best supplies for fish! They have such great discounts on all their supplies. For example, an item that is $15.99 at pet smart is $7.99 at That Fish Place. We go all the time to check out all the new animals at the store and pet the sting rays. We also bought 2 hermit crabs here and they are so happy and healthy! Seriously has the best prices, customer service and workers that I have ever seen at a pet store. They have store pets along with animals for sale and up for adoption. They have so many tanks scattered around the store that are so well taken care of and beautiful. Their workers are so knowledgeable and also ready to help! Everyone needs to check out this store and bring their kids to experience this amazing place. The bird room is so cool but a little overwhelming if you aren’t used to the loud noises and birds hanging around. The cat room is adorable and there’s even little rooms you can go into to pet certain cats. The fish room is huge and has tons of fresh and saltwater fish to choose from. Haven’t seen the ponds yet but can’t wait until spring time to see them!

Ive come here in the past and I can honestly say, I feel things have improved and gotten better with time. They have a large selection of aquatic fish from freshwater and saltwater. They sell top of the line tanks. They serve all domestic home pets. Staff is friendly and helpful when called on for assistance.They also have a large parking lot yet the day I went, it was difficult to find a spot.

Let’s start off by saying do NOT purchase their “natural” dog treats! I purchased their natural dog treats with bacon thinking they were all “natural” as they mentioned, but NOPE! The amount of bacon that was contained in these treats gave my dog a seizure and me a $400+ vet bill! How can you even claim you are providing natural treats when this is the outcome of the treats?! Come to find out bacon is on the list due to the amount of sodium and fat involved to NOT give dogs, the same list that avocado, onions, and chocolate is on!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THE SO CALLED “NATURAL” TREATS FROM THESE PEOPLE! Do you even care about dogs!? I’m disgusted with this place, never going back!

Fantastic employees, knowledgeable, friendly. Though you may see some dead fish in their tanks, they do get them out as soon as someone is aware. They take care of their animals!Prices are kind of high on some things, but you get what you pay for. Wife and I drive 2 hours one way seemingly once a week because of the atmosphere and environment.

Dont park along the building of your have a low hanging bumper.... I buy all my pet supplies at this place , everyone is very friendly and helpful. Lines always move fast.

I ordered about $50 worth of plants. There was a delay of shipment for a few days while waiting for the swords, but they arrived 1 day after shipping and are in excellent condition along with the others in my order. Five stars for quality.

That Fish Place - That Pet Place is probably one of the best places to go when it comes to pet supplies. They always have a wonderful variety of all your pet basics. They could take care of their small critters a little bit better but other than that, they always seem to take really good care of their animals. They have a massive assortment of fish, salt and fresh water. They also have crustaceans, reptiles, small animals, birds, and cats. They even have a pond area where you can pet stingrays! Overall, its a really awesome place to go for pets and supplies. Much better than PetSmart!

Always new pets for the entire family food and pet needs b bought some dwarf frogs a ferret and a gecko along with the food and supplies all right there and they even provided me with some information pamphlets to help with there care..

Have always loved this place, until our last visit...we were looking to start a couple aquariums again as we are not new to it, so asked for a workers help in that dept., we were flat out told they had no aquarium kits..so we went to check out with what we had and my hubby found an entire aisle of them!! Needless to say i was upset esp since i am handicapped so walking is not easy. Lets just say we wound up getting one from walmart with EVERYTHING for less that half the price they wanted for tiny ones, and the other from petsmart again with everything, and again for a fraction of the price!!! I do not know what happened to this place but this was a terrible experience and the prices are insanely high, i passed up a lot of treats for my furbabies since i knew they were much cheaper elsewhere for the same exact items, buyers watch you pocketbooks, seems they no longer care about customer service just about the money grab:(( Very disheartening as we drove a LONG way away for the trip and were very excited, and while i am a member i do not see us buying in person ever again, something has happened to this once wonderful place, and not in a good way, on the bright side all were safety oriented and the animals were well loved and an amazing selection of fish, but with no help they lost us.

I went to this store today with my 10 year old daughter who has a medical condition that causes her to pass out. We were in the plant room inside the fish room waiting to get plants. My daughter started feeling like she was ready to pass out so I asked my dad to run and grab a cart so I could put her in it. She has previously injured herself during these episodes. I was immediately scolded from an employee about not having carts in the fish room. I said that I understand that but my daughter was ready to pass out. He got upset and continued telling me to get the cart out and what I was doing was not allowed and stomped off. I left everything I was planning to buy and we will NOT be back. Absolutely no care for my daughter at all. The kind thing to do would have been to help us out of the area and find somewhere we could sit down with her. Maybe even offer to get her a simple cup of water.... instead we were scolded as if we were terrible rule breakers.

That Fish Place is definitely worth the drive from Harrisburg! We adopted this sweet nugget August 16th. Goose is such a happy girl.

Terrible customer service from register and management. Dropped my basket with fishes and cashier hardley cared. There are some really great floor experts that will go out of their way to help but that stops at the POS.

Dana in the amphibian room was MOST helpful helping us with edibles for our tree frog! Actually, everyone was! This is the de facto place if you have small pets! We saw terrariums, rocks by the pound, aquariums and every accessory! We got our finches food, too, while we were there AND well just have to go back for more essentials to make our pets lives that much better.

The people there are very knowledgeable about different animals and I love the care and respect that they give the animal owners its a great place to go just for a visit

They have a little bit of several animal things. Which is nice if u have ferrets, or fish, or snakes. But they dont have alot for any 1 animal. If u need basic stuff, they might have it. If u need a large selection of something, better off going where they are animal specific.

This place is great for taking kids & buying anything aquarium/pet related. Huge store! Staff is friendly and helpful. We have bought fish for our outdoor pond and snails and other essentials with no issues. My kids always love going here too since the place is pretty hands on. You can pet stingrays, go inside the bird rescue, cat rescue, and get up close to other small animals such as rabbits and ferrets.

Fun place to go look at the animals but I will NEVER buy any pets supplies from here again. Bought clippers for my dog and when we got home and opened it we realized they had already been used. Took them back right away with the receipt and they wouldnt take it back or exchange it, said it wasnt their problem??! I had to go through the manufacturer, but would have had to pay an additional $20 in shipping with no guarantee that Id get an exchange. No thanks, not wasting any more money on this place.

They always have great cat toys for our kitties... A great place to take your kids the fish room is amazing and the bird sanctuary is awesome!

I have been going to this pet store since the early 90s and it seems like the selection of animals and reptiles and fish is nothing like it was back then. However I do know that many reptiles and fish have been outlawed and are no longer available. Tanks seemed dirtier then before and all of their Betas ( Siamese fighting fish) seem very stressed out, do to being so close together. Staff didnt seem very friendly. However with covid and all the other problems going on in this Country I understand their frustration. Overall still a great place to go.

This is my go-to pet store. It’s only about an hour’s drive for us, so we try to get there several times a year. We have 2 dogs, two cats and a reef aquarium. There’s nowhere else we can shop with confidence in well stocked shelves, nicely priced items, a vast selection of quality items, helpful, and we always find friendly, knowledgeable staff. After being held inside during the early months of the pandemic, it was so nice to get out, take our time and shop to our hearts’ content.

Very clean, they treat the animals wonderfully and they have a widest selection of pet supplies and animals to adopt! They have a local cat rescue and even a bird rescue right in the store!! They also have a stingray touch tank that is wonderful for the kids! In addition to this they often do events that are fun and educational for the children!

I was disappointed that mask-wearing was not enforced. There was a sign on the door saying that masks were required but once inside, many people had their masks down under their chin, not covering their mouth or nose. I went to purchase fish. The fish room is the location where people are in closest proximity. More than half of the customers (yes, I counted) in there had pulled their masks off their faces. After seeing 11 customers like this, I said something to a staff member. The response was a shrug of the shoulders. I will not return.

I purchased a guinea pig from this store. No health issues (pigs coming from unsanitary conditions in stores often have respiratory infections) and a very social little guy over all.

Just visited for the first time. I have traveled out of state for animal centers. I had high expectations for that fish place. Unfortunately I was greeted with some of the worst customer service I have experienced since birds mania. Whooosh! Save your money, go somewhere they’re willing to help you.

The Fish Place/Pet Place does not skimp on anything! They have a pool with rays that anyone may touch. There are many different and exotic animals and fish to see as well. The staff is excellent too. They care for your pet like they own it. I would recommend them for any animal questions.

I would like to give this place five stars but the main reason I cant is that they just never seem to have enough staff working. What staff they do have on shift, God bless them all, know about as much as a 45 second google search will teach you. They have always been nothing but helpful but I would wager that having a few folks paid more than state minimum wage would improve the experience of shopping there. Cant say a single negative thing though about the health and temperament of the bearded dragons we got from there. Going strong now for 3 and months.

Ive had mixed feelings about this place for a while due to being told about prices and discounts for floor models on the phone and then having it reversed or changed dramatically when showing up in person and my visit today solidified my opinion. I called to be SURE they had what I wanted in stock (AI Prime 16HD) and was assured that it was in stock and that there were plenty available so I drove an hour and a half to the store to get it as its the closest saltwater brick and mortar store to me. When I arrived I was told there were none in stock and that there never had been any. Its very disappointing when I try to help stores over amazon or online sources and the store further cements why Amazon does so well

I have not visited the store in person, but I have ordered online. The price for what I paid was at least 15% cheaper than I had found elsewhere. It shipped and arrived at my house quicker than Amazon. Very happy and will buy again in the future

Went to customer service to ask for my dogs flea meds. I waited 10 minutes there. Then had to wait in line to ask the person at register to go look for it. Too me holding up the line was unnecessary. When the customer service could gave gotten it. The flea meds are right next to them. So 30 minutes in store to get a box of flea meds.

I was told about this place from a grandmother that took her grandchildren there. I finally made it with my wife and our nearly 3 year old daughter. Needless to say, we all enjoyed ourselves. Great customer service.
