I got my first chance to try this place out in nearly twenty years of going to grossmont mall, having seen it most of if not my whole life and not walking inside. I have to say the whole process was so much fun, and really easy to start, for someone who struggles with stick figure drawings. The employees are more than happy to help you out and the final product came out way better than I ever thought possible!

Its always a joy to visit! The staff is nice, helpful, and were over worked yesterday - lol! Im sure the price of the ceramics cover a multitude of expenses, but expect to pay around $6 - $10 a person, and $40 - $70 for bigger pieces. They conveniently have a bottom row of smaller, more affordable pieces at kiddo level. They also have stencils and stamps for those of us that need it!Great family time or date night destination!

I love it here. It is laid back. You buy a ceramic object. You choose the paint you want to use to decorate your mug, piggy bank, ornament, etc. and you sit down and paint with your group of friends. You can take in snacks and drinks and enjoy.

There was a long line to check out with our items, only 1 register open. But the kids had a great time, plenty of paint so you could get what you wanted, but no one available to really assist or even just point us in the right direction. We got our own brushes, our own water, our own towels etc. Once you pay for your item to be painted, you are pretty much on your own. Which is fine, its just different from other ceramic painting experiences weve had.

Fun place! Nice to spending time relaxing with friends and family and do something together. We get to paint, drink wine, and make a mess and the place cleans up, glazes, bakes and gives you something you can use. I like to paint a recent memory and a date onto my item, like a time capsule.

Then go to the counter and leave you masterpiece and pick it up after 5 days. You wont believe thats your creation.

Update: I have updated my review from 1 to 3 stars... because the owner called to express his concern and let me know that he had a meeting with the staff regarding customer service. He was very apologetic and compassionate about the situation. It was not my intention to get anyone fired, but to bring attention to Management that this occurred. I will be returning to give them another try! I hope you will do the same.I have been here several times, and although I enjoy the painting, the staff has generally been less than attentive. Yesterday - the coldest day this year, not to mention the rain - I went in to have some painting therapy. The double front doors were secured to the open position and the single back door was also propped open. It was 50* in there! I remarked how cold it was and asked to close the doors. I was met with a blank stare... I asked again, can I close this door? The response was less than friendly... oh ya go ahead.Everyone who came in said the same thing its so cold in here! but the staff never moved to close the front double doors as the cold wind came whistling through. Its rather difficult to paint while wearing a coat with a scarf. We had to leave without finishing our projects.Very poor customer service! Complete disregard for the customers comfort.

Great place to go for a family fun day. The choices are numerous and we always have a great time painting the ceramics. It is a little pricey so its not something we can do on a regular basis. Also, we dont seem to get a lot of help from the staff. They leave you to your own devices so the first couple times were a challenge. And if its busy youll find it hard to find seating and it takes forever just to pay for your order. And youll be waiting to get paint because the setup is not conducive to crowds.

Recently came here with a friend after we got the Groupon deal. We spent almost two hours here, just painting, visiting, having a nice time. Everything is pretty much self serve, from the paint to the materials. If you’ve never been there before you may want to talk to someone about where things are. For example, We found out AFTER we were done that there were specific instructions for stencils that would have made application a lot easier and nicer. All in all, it was a good experience, and something different. It looks like a great place for kids (lots of kids were there), but probably older kids are better, unless you don’t really care what the final product looks like. The last time I was here I brought my 3 year old son and he had a blast, but his dinosaur was pretty much a patchwork rainbow. they have late hours too, so if you need to go a little later in the day, you can.Keep in mind that you have to paint in one session, leave the stuff there, and then come back once the items have been fired.

Ive only been here once. I painted a mug which was about $18 I think. I had to take pictures of the paints I used so I wouldnt forget when I needed to get more. You can take the bottles to your table but Id rather just take pics so as to be considerate of others who want to use the same colors. Art is a good way to decompress and forget about things for a little bit. Saturday afternoons are super busy!

I love this place I go there all the time! The pieces are a little pricey (usually around 12-20$) but I would consider that reasonable because they dont charge for paint or the firing process. All the employees are very nice and helpful when needed. They mostly leave you alone except to offer more clean water but I think thats nice in a place where artists want to be independent. It can get a little loud and crowded but thats only because its such a cool place to do art and hang out!!

Disappointing to say the least. The first time I went there, I painted a large deviled egg tray for Easter. When I went to pick it up, it had been loaded in the kiln wrong and broke. Not only was it loaded wrong once, but twice...the first time it stuck to the kiln...the second time it actually broke. They offered to order a new one and paint it. That was fine with me. It was done on Easter (too late...it was in the afternoon). When I went to pick it up it was all wrapped...I was a little suspicious why they wouldnt have it for me to see it. When I got outside I immediately unwrapped it and they had painted it in the wrong colors! Seriously? I am so frustrated...would I ever go back? No way!!!

The prices are on the bottom of the ceramicsEverything comes included in the price which is cool because you dont have to pay for the paints or the table like other ceramic shopsIts a five day turn around and they hold the ceramics for 2 months before giving customers a call just in case they go out of town or have a busy schedule. Within those five days theyll fire the item in one of their kilns and make sure its up to the shops standards, so that means if the glaze doesnt stick they can refire it without inconveniencing the customer. When you come to pick up the items will be under your last name so its very quick and easy.Staff will help with whatever you need and yes it does get busy but if you ask you shall receive. So just talk to the employees! Theyll be happy to help.
