I cannot say enough good things about this place! We did a couples class and it was truly a blast. I was surprised how quickly I was able to throw my own pot! It was a great class and Lex and Ben were such patient teachers. Hands down will return next time I’m in Kingston. Would recommend this place to anyone looking to have fun and get crafty

This was my first ceramics class and I loved it. The instructor, Susan, was great. She took us through all the steps from rolling the clay to shaping our pots to decorating to glazing. Lots of personal attention. Lots of great examples. Everyone was helpful and friendly. I will be back for more!

Had such a great time with Lex yesterday doing a private lesson! It was so light and enjoyable, a very clean and fun atmosphere, and learned a lot from our one day lesson. Cant wait to return! Perfect opportunity for a date event, group party, or just trying something new in the area during the pandemic.

I have been a member if the Kingston Ceramics Studio for several years. The studio is large, sunny and well equipped, with plenty of space to spread out and do hand building or wheel thrown pottery. The studio offers a wide variety of classes, as well as open studio time for those who have mastered the basics. Working in clay is very satisfying - there are so many ways to express your creativity in this medium.

Kingston Ceramics Studio is a fantastic spot to learn ceramics skills, fire pieces and learn glazing techniques. We recently attended community clay day with the kids and it was A+The instructors were fun, patient and great with kids. We all got to throw a piece on the pottery wheel and in a few weeks we will get all our pieces back. The owner of the studio is great! Lex is helpful and knowledgeable and loves to share her passion for the ceramics arts.If you are looking for a place to make your ceramics or to learn, I can’t recommend it enough!

I was given the gift of a lesson at the Kingston Ceramics Studio. The instructor, Nathan, was extremely helpful and solicitous of my being a rank beginner. The other students in the class were also helpful, making it a very pleasant experience. Im not sure how interested I am in general in learning this craft, but it was a lot of fun. I recommend it for anyone wishing to learn how to use a pottery wheel!

The Kingston Ceramics Studio is my home away from home! The studio offers everything you need whether you are taking classes or if you are a member, which I became earlier this year after taking several classes. Every instructor is amazing in their own way, at your site if you need them but they provide you with the space and freedom you desire to create and follow your own creativity! I also had a private event there with a group of 9 and everyone that participated left happy and inspired. To anyone who is considering trying ceramics for the first time or joining as a member, dont look any further! Lex and her team are the best!

Best ceramics studio I’ve been to in the Hudson Valley. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and it’s in a beautiful space with large windows. Love that they offer so many different glazes and clay bodies. Lex the owner is a wonderful teacher; very experienced, patient and personable. So happy to have this studio in Kingston!

In 2018 I started studying with Alexis Feldheim (and all of the other great teachers and members) at Kingston Ceramic Studio, located in the Mid-Hudson Valley area of NY. In addition to learning how to throw on the wheel and hand-building, I’ve been exploring the layering of underglazes and glazes to achieve the painterly effects I strive for in my paintings and prints. The studio has been a wonderful and supportive experience in every way. Regardless of age or creative background, you couldnt ask for a better group of people to study with. I highly recommend Kingston Ceramic Studio.

I’m not one to usually write reviews, but my girlfriend and I had such an AWESOME time at our lesson with Lex that I had to leave this note (we did the basic private wheel lesson plus the second hour, which was I would also recommend). I had never even seen a pottery wheel before, while my gf had some experience. Lex started by leading us through the basics of the process, and I had my first “cylinder” going within 20 mins of arriving. There was a great mix of guidance and freedom - when I was about to totally blow up my creations Lex was there to get me back on track, but otherwise it was up to me to apply what I was learning and explore how throwing worked. Lex also did a great job changing up her teaching style for me (who needed a lot of guidance) with my girlfriend (who needed a lot less). By the end of two hours I had created a mug and two bowls that I was actually pretty proud of. Lex is going to fire and glaze them and then ship them to us (so excited to drink out of my mug!) The vibe of the studio was super relaxed, and everyone else who was there was so friendly and welcoming. We had a ton of fun, and we definitely want to come back!
