We love Maui Sunset. Perfect for families and relaxation. Well appointed condos and incredible staff. You wont be disappointed.

Our family stayed here for a week and it was a fantastic experience!Lets start with the unit itself, 517B - it was clean, spacious, had all beach equipment (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and sand toys), and had an incredible view.The grounds itself was very well kept. Pool has nice sized and cleaned daily. There were plenty of activities to check out as well.Its a beach front complex although the beach is not a swimming Beach; you can still enjoy it.

Staying for a week in Kihei while my wife attends a conference in Wailea. We booked a condo in the Maui Sunset and have been happy with it. Note that all units are individually owned so the interiors and amenities inside will vary. The one we are is pretty basic but has everything you need for a pleasant stay.Good sized 1BR / 1BA unit. Only downside on the unit is that the awesome ocean view balcony is in the LR while the BR is on the opposite side. There is a sliding glass door in the BR but it opens to the common walk way that everyone uses to access their units. Even leaving the balcony door open at night doesnt allow for much ocean noise. It is quiet but we like to hear the ocean at night.The complex (2 buildings with common area & pool between them) is awesome. The grounds are well cared for. There are 6 gas grilles for use by the guests that are all in very good working order and seem to be scrubbed every morning. Pool is also well maintained.All in all a good value in Maui. Good location and a good price.

Older facility, but well maintained, newer kitchen and appliances. Comfortable bed. The office has been closed, but we have been able to communicate with staff through e mail and phone calls. Well equipped kitchen. Home away from home.

Conveniently located. A short drive into plenty of options in town, and a nice easy drive around the island. The grounds were very nice. The concierge had the best deals we could find on the island for all our fun outings. Perfect for sunsets on the west side. Even saw turtles beaching for the night.

What a great place to enjoy Maui! We could see the whales playing in the ocean from our room. Very friendly staff and nice swimming pool and hot tub. This is our second time staying here. Very nice.

I was there for a 4 day work trip. Unit was very clean and comfortable. Very quiet and did not hear other guests banging around. Excellent value for the price. Convenient location with grocery store and restaurants within 5 minutes.

My family and I really enjoyed this property. We stayed in a one bedroom condo with partial ocean view and it was perfect! The condo was clean and had all kitchen and beach essentials for our stay. Staff from the reception area, cleaning crew and security guards were nice and friendly throughout our stay. The property is located right on the ocean front. The beach has a private feel to it, great for sunsets! Its within walking distance to some restaurants, bars, grocery store and shopping center. We cant wait to visit again in 2020!

We have spent a number of vacations in condos and this was one of our best experiences. It is a very nice place to stay. Our suite was clean and well equipped. This is an older building, but it was very well maintained and was well built. The location is great, but some folks might prefer to head into town before swimming in the ocean, though this is not necessary.There was something wrong with the Wifi and the handle for the front door and no easy way to get them fixed, otherwise, nothing but pluses.

So Far soooo good folks! Definitely recommend this place. The kitchen has saved us time and money. The view is spectacular. The grass area and pool area are great for kids. The beach is right in front of property. We are still here! Ill update once Im home!

We went through Maui Sunset Condos “Hawaii Life Vacations” agency to book the trip. The week before we were set to go, Covid hit and shut down the country. The agency would not work with us so soon into the shutdown, we re scheduled for late August. Well now the Governor extended the 14-day mandatory quarantine and once again...after months of everyone dealing with the shutdown, the agency again refuses to work with us and will only give us minimal amount of our money back. I can’t believe in these times that a company will be so selfish as to keep money from a trip they know is completely out of the control of the patron. Save your money and go with a place that uses an agency that will work with you.

Great location. Doesn’t look good from the exterior but rooms are very nice and spacious. Ocean view rooms have a great view. The common lawn between the buildings is really nice.Short walk to some shopping areas. Overall very pleased with our stay in Unit 419.

They dont call it Maui Sunset for no reason. Perfect location for a fabulous sunset view and to get to anything else you need. Every evening at sundown is a true event, and occasionally becomes a mini festival. While each condo is different per the respective owner, the staff is excellent and the grounds are wonderful. It is not The Ritz, it just a nice quiet laid back home away from home; the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. A great respite from reality and from your daily Maui adventures.

Beautiful views but not good for swimming due to reef.

Love the location and grounds of Maui Sunset. Grounds maintenance is the best. Nice pool and easy beach access. Unit was as advertised- living space and kitchen are well laid out and comfortable, bedrooms and bathrooms a bit small. Unit was not 100% clean but when notified manager quickly addressed. Proper clean supplies and some kitchen items were missing. There was no blender and knives were extremely dull (no sharpener).

Property is great. The condo was clean and spacious with a full kitchen and BBQs available. Was nice having beach chairs and boogie boards in the room. There isnt much of a beach but plenty of great spots close by. The staff werent too friendly. Other than that our stay was good, Id stay here again and would recommend it.

This complex is family oriented and well kept. Many unit choices to be had as well as booking methods. A few things to note. The swimming directly in front of the units isnt great. The water is shallow. A reef protects the long beach which is a great walk morning and evening. Paddle boards, and other outdoor game items for rent or use at the pool kiosk. Prices, decor, and amenities will vary by unit since they are all privately owned.

It was clean, the staff there was friendly and helpful, they have lots of amenities such as tennis lawn bowling stuff and free access to gas grills and a pretty good, but crowded pool area. More importantly, it was right on a beautiful beach with a great views of west Maui and the ocean.

Its a tiny bit dated, maybe not 5* quality. However its amazing & the best price Ive seen for the area. Havent seen any pests & the unit is very well cleaned & maintained. Its been perfect & look forward to staying here again. Location is perfect for beaches & shopping both. Middle of the island gives us the freedom to easily get anywhere else on the island. Its perfectly beautiful here in Kihea though.

Clean, ample parking, grounds and buildings maintained well, observing CDC guidelines, great place to own, rent or visit.

It was fine but I wouldn’t stay here again. It was kinda crowded so we didn’t use the pool much. The lawn was nice but there wasn’t much of a beach. Some may prefer that... we did not.

Nice location, you can walk to the beach from your room! The staff was very helpful!

The view from our 3rd floor balcony was about the only nice thing about this place. Thats sad considering we were told we upgraded to a better space (not sure why...perhaps overbooking of 1st/2nd floor spaces).First, the place was not clean...looks like only a quick cleaning is ever done as you can see buildup of dirt and gunk all over. The floor had several stains, dishes in the cabinets were not clean, the fridge and freezer were also dirty. The sheets were clean, but one had a hole in it.We saw bugs inside daily. Ants and several different critters were spotted and killed on a daily basis. The balcony furniture is also very run down. The chairs were stacked left inside for some reason. When moving outside and unstacking, I noticed one was heavily damaged and probably would have collapsed if Id sat on it! All of the chairs had significant wear, with jagged edges showing. It was obvious that this was known to the owners as there was duct tape applied at one point to try to cover it up!An odd thing with the washer and dryer was that the washer was about half the size of the dryer (dont forget to buy your laundry detergent). You also cant use the washing machine when you are not there due to property policy, but the washer is ridiculously loud! So dont count on watching tv or taking a nap/siesta and washing a hiking clothes from the morning.Lastly, the air conditioners are plugged into outlet timers. Unfortunately, these timers last only 4 hours. This becomes a problem at night and early morning as the A/C shuts off and the bedroom heats up, causing us to wake up in a pool of sweat! The A/C was also the only thing to drown out the noise, as our upgraded room was next to an exit door and trash shoot and a family of chickens on the other side of the parking lot.Been to Kihei 3 times, this was easily the worst.

Enjoyable time. All staff encountered were EXCELLENT! Well apportioned room- many details well done with a comfortable bed, full kitchen, very nice overall. Front door lock difficult to manage with the key EVERY time, up to 2 minutes, being dangerous later at night. Left a msg for prop management when leaving. Loved the beach, location, and surroundings. Awesome being able to see so many sea turtles popping up and down over a few days! Wonderful sunsets as the property name implies. Even though from So CA with our own beaches nearby, this is a great place to get away!

This place was a pleasant surprise. I’d recommend to anyone vacationing with a family on a budget. The sunsets were amazing. The staff was very helpful and be sure to use the orientation at the pool at 9:00am. The information makes it easy to plan activities.

This is the only place I stayed in Maui and it was great. The condos are reasonably priced and they have everthing you need. Direct access to the beach, a pool, tennis courts, and more!

Classic Maui condo complex with stunning views and immaculate grounds. Super friendly staff and extremely well-priced. The pool isn’t huge but it never felt crowded. Very community feel. I loved sitting on the balcony in the evenings and listening to the light chatter of families on other lanais. Well kept bbq area made grilling easy and fun. Tons of grass for kids to run around without being disruptive. Only drawback is no swimmable beach right there, tho a very nice one is waking distance. We saw fisherman, windsurfers, and turtles every day. Condos are individually owned and ours was super clean and charming with good WiFi. We will definitely be back.

So beautiful, theres a reason its called Maui sunset.

The biggest selling point might be the lawn they have. The grass is maintained super well and provides lots of space for everyone to do their unique activities during sunset. There is a pool open to all guests at the hotel and a concierge by the pool that has equipment for you to rent to play shuffle boarding to stand up paddle boards (those cost some money though). The rooms are all pretty decent for the cost and would recommend if you like a full kitchen.

We had a ground level condo for seven days. It was so nice to be able to let our daughter run around in the courtyard. The beach is very rocky and not good for swimming but fine for walks and sunset viewing. In other condos we stayed at there was leftover condiments for us to use but we had nothing so that was a little disappointing. They do have the usual kitchen gear and each condo seemed to be different. The pool area was very well kept.

Really nice apartments (not a hotel! So there are no room service, cleaning, towels replacement, breakfast and so on). You get your own kitchen, also we found all beach equipment like umbrella, chairs, body bird, towels and even golf clubs.

This is not a hotel and shouldnt be advertised as so. This is more like a condo/vacation rental.Pros:Having a fully equipped apartment was great.Free parking.The security guy that works when reception is closed (basically always) is super nice and friendly.Nice kitchen.Great pool.They provide with beach chairs, body boards, towels, beach umbrellas, etc.Cons:There is no cleaning/room service.Reception is only open from 9 am to 6 pm which is a pain since most tours start 6 am or even 3 am for sunrise so it was impossible to coordinate.There is no chance for early check in: Check in is at 4 pm (which is really late). Not even by paying extra; not an option.Location is average. Youll need to drive to find a good beach or restaurant. Besides McDonalds, nothing is within walking distance.

Lovely place. Good location for a family friendly stay. Just off the beach. The room was spacious and had all amenities. It was well kept. Would definitely recommend this place for a cost effective stay.

Maui Sunset is a beautiful property. Well kept & cleanOur condo was adequate & comfortable. It wasn’t as clean as it should have been. The patio was filthy dirty as were parts of the inside. Not much Hawaiian decor which I like.

Beautiful location. Rooms were ok. Cleaning service left alot to be desired though. The pool was closed for half of our stay and some of the staff was not very friendly. I would however stay again

So nice and quiet. Not a lot of foot traffic with tourists. I am here on my honeymoon ( September ) and we are loving it here. It honestly feel like he have our own apartment.

We had a one bedroom condo through this time share for three weeks with our World Mark credits.Great pool with a lift for those who have trouble entering and exiting the pool by stairs.

Location is perfect to explore island, in addition ine of the few resorts that has long a swimable beach. Plus you often see the green back turtles here.

Our condo was spacious and well equipped with a brand new carpet. The balcony had the sun all day which we loved.Only downside is no one services your room but that might have been our specific package.The communal areas were all clean. Great watching the sunset from the beach.It’s easy to get around from there. A short walk into Kihei and Ubers take 5-20 mins to arrive. You don’t need to rent a car to have a great time on Maui.

My stay was ok, not great, just ok, the smoke alarm kept beeping and I called it in threes times but nobody came to fix it. We just took the battery out. Lots of little bugs in the kitchen so we could not leave food out, not even for a few minutes. AC wasn’t working when we first arrived. Grounds were good, well maintained.

The stay was ok if you can bare with big and small roaches. AC in the livingroom wasnt cold. Was better off with the sliding door open. The lady in the front office was super rude and helpless.

Bed sheets are old. Comforter is dirty i put it on the floor the whole time. Sofa is old. Nice dining tables and chairs. Mattress is comfortable. Tub is old but shower head is good and functional. I love that there are 2 full bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen with washer and dryer. I love that there are beach chairs and beach towels. Great location. Quiet and safe property. The grounds are well maintained. Nice view of sunset from property and access to beach.

This place has insane value! Not only was the condo we stayed in awesome, but the pool, the view and everything the lawn had to offer was amazing. DEFINITELY call Connie at the concierge desk before arrival to schedule your activities!!

This place is amazing! Its right off the ocean,and right near grocery stores and starbucks for you coffee and tea drinkers!

We enjoyed our stay at the Maui Sunset. Id say it comes out as a solid 3 for us based on the unit we were in. Our unit was somewhat dated, but it was nice to have a closet full of things you might want to take to the beach (like chairs, coolers, a boogy board...obviously this would vary by unit). Each unit has a private balcony and also washer and dryer, which was great.The grounds are very well maintained with grills available and a very nice pool and hot tub. There is also a small gym and tennis courts available. Parking is free and the property does have a beach, although it gets a lot of wind. As the name of the property implies, you can witness some beautiful sunsets. We were very close to stores as well as some nice snorkeling and swimming beaches.If returning to Kihei we would definitely be happy staying here again.

This an amazing place to stay. We were expecting 3 bed room 2 bath but we got a 3 bed 3 bath. It is family friendly.

We had a great time here. very close to the beach (1 min walk) with killer ocean view. The condo is extremely family friendly, with 10pm to 8am quiet hours. we will definitely come back for our future vacations.

This resort isn’t the newest but has great views and a nice pool a little dated but we booked the trip late so it worked out great for us .

Great place to rent out for the week. Grills on the court yard are nice to grill some local caught seafood. Only thing I would change is please include some shampoo and washing soap for the washer dryer.

The resort is right on the beach with beautiful well maintained grounds. A very friendly atmosphere with lots to do if you wanted....including breakfast everyday.The condo we stayed in was quaint and nicely decorated with beautiful sunset/sunrise views from the balcony, though it could definitely use some updates. However we found it through AirBnb so thats really the condo owners responsibility and not a reflection of the resort itself.

Gorgeous grounds, good room, nice location....... but not great for a middle age big group. Quiet time after 10 means you cant sit outside in a group chatting. Our 3 year old was not allowed a flotation device in the pool.... etc. No big complaints, just wouldnt come back.

Extremely nice condos, beach and ocean view and access from the property. Tennis, surfing, shuffle board and more. Perfect for our multiple family trip. Kehei is a great small town with alot to do.

Nice wide open grounds. Very well maintained. Some of the suites are quite dated while others have been updated...depends on the owners. Try and get as much information as possible before booking.

The property was beautiful and very well kept. The condo we stayed in was pretty clean, needs a little update though. Bed was comfy and everything worked. Had a little bit of trouble checking in as the key didn’t work, but the staff were friendly and had it resolved quickly. I will be back to stay here again.

We stayed in 401 from 10-19-18 until 10-25-18 and loved every minute!! Even when we locked ourselves out one day, the agent managing the unit, David I think his name was, came right over and let us back in. Will highly recommend the Maui Sunset Resort to anyone coming to Kihei, Maui. Sure do miss it, Maine is not quite as warm!!

The condo was very nice and as described. Plenty of room for a family up settle in with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room with pull out couch.. Located right on the west coast of Maui, the ocean is just steps outside the door. A pool and hot tub are a part of the facility but were closed during our stay.

This was such a great pick to stay for our Maui vacation! It was easy to get everywhere and had great amenities for us! The staff were fantastic and the property was beautiful! Would stay again!

A friend invited us to his time share before we headed to the airport at the end of our vacation. We used the pool, hot tube and his shower in the condo. It was nice to get a shower in since we had checked out of our air b&b that morning. And its spent all day at the beach.

I flew in from Phoenix, expection my dream of a lifetime vacation. First of all given wrong type of room. Second we were given room number 205. Went into room. Couch in living room had number of stains on it, bed has stains all over it. Comfort. Stains all over curtain. Crums all over, hand prints all over mirrors. Given room 211 and bugs all over floor, air-conditioned, showers, particles of stuff all over bedroom floor, in bowls and crawling on me. This aside, filthy carpet. No one us concern about this. Supposed to stay 8 days, but sleeping in car tonight because of the infistation on

If youre looking for a quiet place to stay and enjoy your time, you wont go wrong here. They have a pool, shuffleboard, tennis courts and board rentals, but they arent called Maui Sunset just because someone in marketing thought the name was cool. Its a fantastic place to have a cocktail and watch the whales going nuts as the sun sets the ocean aflame in its descent.

Maintenance staff was excellent, night security a great guy. Great family friendly facility and all around great staff

Was there for my 3rd time 3 weeks ago.With my family. Love it there. Always stay at Maui Sunset. Everyone is so nice and everything is clean and beautiful.

Very nice grounds! Beautiful view. We enjoyed taking a short stroll across well-kept grass to a small beach. The room was pretty nice too. Comfortable patio for relaxing. Spacious room. A bit of a roach problem, but maybe thats just part of being on a tropical island?

We really enjoyed our stay at Maui Sunset. Our one bedroom condo was very large and clean. Had all the amenities of home and we were able to cook lots of meals. Great balcony overlooking a beautiful courtyard that is kept up very nicely. Overall a great place!
