We are headed back to Chinook Shores for the fifth time next week. This place is perfectly set up for fishing for salmon, halibut, or rock fish. The lodging is top notch as well as the boat and fishing gear. The pictures shown are from our trip in 2012. Got some really nice halibut and the salmon fishing was so hot that we ran out of space on the boat because of all the salmon we caught!

Trip was awesome! All of the staff made every effort to make our stay comfortable. Jeff and Nadra are exceptionally nice people and hosts. They genuinely want their guests to have a good time. The boats and gear is great and the whole experience takes place in a magnificent setting. We will soon be booking our fifth consecutive trip for next year!

Jeff and his crew run a world class fishing resort, and do a great job making sure everyone catches fish! We went home with more than we could have possibly imagined. What really stuck out to me was just how cheerful his staff always was. Being surrounded by the same old geezer fisherman all the time I could see it get old, but everyone was always super accommodating. Cant wait to go back!

Great facilities and equipment. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Limited out quickly on Kings and Halibut. Book early, they fill up fast. If it is your first time request a guide for your first couple days.

WE opened their season with our very first visit this June and were overwhelmed by the welcoming staff. They are more than thorough in taking care of our needs and wants. They are ENTHUSIASTIC which is a very rare situation for any resort staff. The fishing was both fun and the waters surprising. We caught two King Salmon (one 25 pound, one 18 pound) our first day out and it was within easy sight of the resort docks. Cabins are extraordinary, well designed and POLISHED. We are in our 70s and totally unfamiliar with the waters. Yet we had no trouble taking our own 20 ft. boat and finding the exact locations where fishing was best and already market on our GPS sonar equipment. Easy to use and fun to do it ourselves!! Even good crabbing. An we finished our last day out with King Salmon limits!!

I had a party of three friends and we stayed at Chinook Shores in early August 2014. We booked the self guided package. The cabins were quite a bit nicer then we expected. The boat was in great shape and ran well. Jeff and his staff were very helpful in putting us on the fish. The fishing was quite good. If you are looking for a nice place to stay, that provides quality equipment, and has friendly and helpful staff this is the place you should book.

Top notch fishing destination spot. The accommodations are great. The crew is polite, accommodating and very helpful, as well as fun and personable. Jeff and Nadra, the owners, are wonderful folks and just great to be around. Jeff came up to our cabin every evening, had beer with us, and checked in to see how we were doing and offered useful advice and was, not only willing but, happpy to suggest and make sure we had the proper gear and tackle to make our fishing as successful as it could be. Looking forward to returning the next time Im fishing Southeast Alaska.

Picturesque location. Great for the entire family. 17 hours of fishing if you wish. For those who dont wish to fish as long, Ketchican is a historic city with great shops and sites. The accommodations are perfect for 6 with a kitchen. Nadra, Jeff and the entire staff are friendly and professional. Jeff will direct you too, and will set up your on board GPS to fishing spots for salmon, halibut, and various varity of rock cods. Thanks againFrom the SF Bay Area and Texas gang.

Nice views give this place more than a 1 rating. Other than that, owners were complacent on maintenance and safety issues creating physical hazards. They charged us almost $400 for floor scratches caused by their couch on soft wood floors (incredible). Further, most of the windows are broken and do not open or close completely. Further, the owners refused to address icy road conditions on a very steep grade causing a bad fall and near broken hip for me. Fortunately, I landed on my oranges which broke my fall. This place has so much potential. Too bad the owners are so stingy.

My brother and I took my two boys to Chinook Shores for a week long fishing trip. We had been talking about doing this for years and finally pulled it together. We could not be more pleased with our choice to make Chinook Shores Lodge our destination for this once in a lifetime trip. From the very beginning we knew we were in for a treat. The owners have invested in fantastic equipment with new boats and quality gear. The cabins are very very nice and well set up. The view is absolutely amazing! Each person on staff here at Chinook Shores is ready to go the extra mile to make sure your stay is exactly what you want. Sumati was waiting to pick us up from the airport and even agreed to take us to a few stops to pick up supplies before arriving at our cabin. McKinley and Kylee prepared the days catch with care and precision. It was so cool to watch these experts work. The best part was seeing them correct my brother on the different species of Salmon. Too funny! TJ was extremely knowledgeable and helped us decide where to fish each day and was very helpful getting our equipment prepared perfectly. Finally, the hosts Jeff and Nadra were absolutely awesome and made us feel like part of the family. Thank you Chinook Shores team, you helped us experience a trip of a lifetime. We will be back!
