First live show since Feb or March thanks to covid-19. Spaced seating appropriate. Good sound. Lovely lobby and stair case and common area. Only downside is the old time seating... If you are tall, your legs will be too long to sit comfortably... That was a bummer I must confess.

It’s a beautiful theater with comfortable seats and a lot of legroom. Driving to the theatre is a bit of a headache because traffic is so backed up going through the parking gates. Getting in to the theater is another hassle due to lack of signage and staff to redirect people. Lobby is small. Concessions are right at the door when you enter so crowd flow gets a bit of a challenge again. It needs a bit of restructuring to ease the flow of crowd. Otherwise, it’s a great theater!!

What a fantastic little theater. I really enjoyed the motifs and hominess that felt while there. Whether you are on the first level, second, or balcony seating you are never too far from the stage. It also allows the performers to be a little more personable with the crowd, in my opinion. The staff were very kind and quick to help with questions and direction. I look forward to returning next year.

Had a wonderful time at The Folly Theater last night. Beautiful venue, however I hope that you may begin starting the shows reminding guests that the auditorium is built for acoustics, therefore the sounds of whispering and gum chewing carry. While these things detracted from our experience, the venue itself was great.

Beautiful little theater set in close to other venues. The music sound stage is delightful and sure to please regardless of where you might actually be sitting. If you are at a music session then all seats are good seats.

Very unique venue. Loved the architecture inside. Here a caution: dont get seats down near the stage that are on the far left or far right (orchestra left or orchestra right) nearest to the outside wall. Reason? You will be sitting under the overhanging seats above you and have limited view of the back of the stage area (like for video screen or play activity near the back of the stage).

Sound in the upper balcony was still nice and crisp, and the view not too obstructed if you stay out of the first row. Stacey Kent was worth seeing any day, and ticket prices were very reasonable.

An excellent smaller venue for the more intimate shows. The bathroom was kept clean and the bar stocked well. The only issue I ran into was the security staff didnt know much about how the show was going to run until everything happened. Once something happened, we got hearded around.

Way to complete botch a VIP presale. Logged in to get my Letterkenny live tickets only to be priced gouged with an exorbitant $162 fee per ticket on what was already a $225 package. Apparently this was an error. So the folks who prepared and were on time for the presale and willing to spend a thousand dollars missed out. I was VIP at the show in Chicago this summer. So much for the present I was buying for my friends. You are 5 blocks from my flat. Bad form. Doubt you can even get close to making it right.

This is a great venue! It offers a smaller auditorium than the Sprint Center, Kauffman Center, etc. that feels very intimate and eclectic. The theatre is older, but has a newer/refreshed lobby with modernized bathrooms. Overall, it is just a great place to catch a performance. The staff is friendly and welcoming and there is ample parking in the garage immediately adjacent to the theatre. The only issue with parking is there is not a handicap accessible way to enter/exit the parking garage without using the entrance/exit for vehicles. This creates a possible safety concern. The walkway out of the garage leads to stairs outside the door. However, I have not had any issues with cars not yielding to pedestrian/handicap traffic. And, the garage is not owned by the theatre so I imagine there is not much more the theatre can do to make it more accessible.Overall, I would highly recommend this venue!

We enjoyed live music, A Night of Tango, by Bach Aria in this historic theater. Built in 1900, its a gorgeously maintained and preserved Kansas City landmark. Reading a series of framed articles about the transition the theater underwent throughout the years is an interesting way to spend intermission. Street parking is not so accessible or convenient in the immediate vicinity. I recommend allowing for a few extra minutes to get your vehicle situated, or use the streetcar.

The Folly Theater is a beautiful old-time theater, recently renovated. This was our second event there. This time was to see John McEuan and the String Wizards. Excellent show, beautiful venue. SCC was great, the building is nice, interior is cool looking. But the seats have no knee room and are way too narrow, smaller than airline seats. Left side row O 16-19 should just be removed they put a sound box in right behind here and foolishly moved the seats in this row forward to make room for it, only little kids could sit comfortably in these 4 seats. Awful seating experience, we left early because we couldnt take it any longer.

Saw Central Standard barbershop Christmas concert and the place is beautiful! Good acoustics and in-house sound. Parking was $8 in the garage up the block which is fairly reasonable if you plan on spending a few hours in the area. Concessions are served with coffee, beer, and wine. Sat up in the balcony right in front of the overhang wall and there was NO leg room (I am 511). My wife and I had to move seats - other than that, it is a great place!

Small intimate theater for lectures, small concerts. Venue is beautiful, historic. Drink concession area is a total mess, just inside the main entrance. This is a fantastically well cared for venue in historic downtown KC. The seating was comfortable, the decor, while dated, was pristine and felt like stepping back in time. I would recommend arriving early, and booking ahead for seats as the front of house space for ticketing is minimal and was quite crowded when we arrived. Acoustics are great for the smaller show we went to.

Lovely re-do of the lobby and facility. Two gripes:1. No elevator...tough for access to the cheap seats if you are physically challenged.2. They only accept cash for drinks, water, coffee & cookies (the last 3 were $2 EA last night). The $8 parking wiped out my cash so no treats for me!
