Loved visiting the Wornall house. So much Civil War and Kansas City history. The house has amazing artifacts, original wallpaper and artwork. The tours was informative and timed perfectly (about 45 minutes).Bring cash for your tour fee. They collect money at the end of the tour, and didnt specify cash only beforehand.

They should specify that their ghost tours are a tickets in advance event and that they typically sell out weeks in advance. But otherwise its a lovely facility.

Really cool experience to see where we have come from. Learned more about the region during the civil war in one tour than reading a history book could ever teach and makes it more real

Life in the mid 19th century, in REAL life. The Wornall House was built by John Wornall. It remained in the family until the 1970s. It was rehabbed to original condition has made it the most authentic reminder of the time period. It is worth the hour or so it takes to make the guided tour. I recommend calling for reservations beforehand, as they are only open a few days a week. And, pack a picnic lunch to eat on the grounds.

We went for their Christmas tour. I would have liked more history and info about the house and grounds. Our tour guide wasnt very aware of her group or the info. There were parts that we did love, such as the musical portion and the kitchen tour. If everything were like that it would have been excellent.

I tagged along on a ghost hunt here, which was fun. The staff gave us a few guidelines but otherwise let the group do whatever they wanted on the outing. Id definitely like to visit in the daytime someday to get a better look at the furniture and artwork.

The John Wornall House and Alexander Major’s House are like my second home. Everyone does a great job in bringing the history alive. Not only does both houses have Paranormal Investigations but also camps for children, Christmas events and many others. History never dies but the staff and volunteers do a great job in preserving it.

Had a very good time on this tour of the John Wornall house in KC. The docent was informative & patient. Think of what it was like to live way back in the early-to-mid 1800s, then into the Civil War, with Loose Park close by. This was the essence of this tour. Go on over to Alexander Majors and tour that house, too, for concurrent history of the area, the people, and events which shaped this region. They also have private ghost tours for groups, or an individual who is willing to shell out the bucks. Fascinating stuff, you will not be disappointed in the historical content. Thanks to the docents who offer their time!

The building is really cool, the staff is informative, and the history is interesting. You can do daytime historic tours, and sometimes they offer night time lantern guided tours talking about paranormal occurrences. The Missouri Paranormal Society also offers guided paranormal investigations where you can learn how to really investigate, and even use their equipment. Lots of times, the Wornall House offers free live music and craft events on weekdays and/or weekends!

I have called them everyday several times for the last week and never received a call back. Finally on Friday someone answered the phone. I told her I was not able to come and she said you should have called earlier!! REALLY ?????? I called everyday MULTIPLE TIMES and no answer or call back. Someone else could have came instead. I am trying to get my money back since I was unable to make it. BUT THEY WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK.
