Good Donald Ross track. Grounds are a shambles but the people are nice and its a very good track. In nice shape especially for the time of year.

Ripped out the dead rough from the GreatLife disaster that almost killed this Donald Ross design. All new white sand bunkers and the greens are some of the purest public ones in town. Loving the efforts going into making this Ross shine again.

Very beautiful course and super fun to play on. Well kept and not to long of holes. Only down side is not being able to drink your own beer on it. We tried but they caught us so maybe if youre more sneaky.

Great course.. fun holes, nothing crazy challenging... club house needs some updates for sure, but plays well and in good shape.

We got married here and I cant say enough good things about this place. The wedding was flawless and the people who helped us were so knowledgeable that the wedding went perfectly. I wish I could go back and do it all again.

Nice challenging course, but be aware new owner has serious integrity issues, so be careful be about making any commitments as he does not honor his. In February, he offered existing members annual plan over a three year period, then changed the deal six weeks later, wanting 2.5 mores per month and eliminating the monthly membership, which was actually an annual commitment/membership. Essentially locked all members out of seasonal deals from competing courses, while he implemented year 4 pricing levels on May 1. No riding carts are available, course is a real beast to walk. The green fees are not worth the experience and conditions you will encounter, recommend going to Swope Park instead, which is just North of this course, condition and value are better, and play similarly.

In the best shape since private days. A true Kansas City gem! Treat yourself to a Donald Ross designed course.

Tough course. Tight, tree lined fairways and many elevated, small greens. Even when you hit a fairway youre probably on a hill. Good challenge.

We brought our photo booth to the Country Club for a college graduation party and couldnt have been happier with the staff. Marshall, the assistant general manager, made sure we and the caterers had everything we needed. We were able to see how Marshall and all of his staff were super attentive to the party guests, who were having a great time. The club itself is a little older, but it is spacious and appeared to be well maintained.

We had our reception at Hillcrest and everything turned out great! The layout is open and adaptable and there is a patio area just outside. On top of this, it has two rooms which when combined can hold a good size gathering. It has a central bar location near what most people would use as the dance floor that kept everyone mingling and dancing all night. Hillcrest also has a lot of history which makes it a special location. The venue and catering options are very reasonably priced and have a lot of flexibility in the different options you can select. Todd worked with us throughout the process to accommodate our requests and kept in communication throughout. The day of the reception couldn’t have been better. The staff was attentive and kept our guests happy. Even though the food ended up sitting for some time as the wedding party was a bit late arriving, it still kept well and we had no complaints. Overall it was an amazing time. Many people have told us it was the best wedding reception they have ever been to.

Good littl golf course. It’s unfortunate how it get’s hit with so much rain. I would recommend this course, and really suggest not hitting driver as much. Love the elevation changes, and most of the holes are absolutely fun!

We threw my husbands surprise birthday party at Hillcrest Country Club, and boy oh boy, did we have a ball! The Manager, Marshall, was amazing! He wore many hats that day to make sure every aspect of our party went off without a hitch. We are already thinking of another reason to have a party at Hillcrest!

I had such an amazing wedding here (bride). I loved everything, the venue is so spacious and beautiful and the employees here are amazing! Todd helped us with our whole wedding, even the little things. He went above and beyond and I cant stop praising him! On the night of the wedding we had an amazing bartender, Alex and two other employees helping things go smoothly, Dylan and Ashton. All my guests loved being here since it is easy to get to. Everything went perfect and its because of the great employees here. The price is unbelievable to, for an all inclusive wedding this place cannot be beat.

The course was in great shape. We were greeted in a friendly manner. The sandwich / bar area was a little slow in helping us make the turn. However, the sandwich was great. I think course is on the right path.

Course is in serious need of water and maintenance...bunkers hard as a rock...fairways and greens getting so thin that they may lose them...add to this the fact there were fivesomes all over the course tiday, on a Saturday and things couldnt be much worse. Its such a shame as this is one of Kansas Citys older but classic courses! It may be a Great Life course, but it is certainly not being managed in a Great way!

This is a hidden little gem of a golf course. Fantastic lay out and very fun to play. Plenty challenging. Incredible and friendly staff.

As the groom, sadly, I cant recommend this place as being a great place to have a wedding or reception. I dont know who the 5 star reviews are, but they must have known the owners of the venue or something, because their reviews dont match any of mine or families experiences.The responsiveness of Todd is horrendous. He always has an excuse for not responding to voice messages or emails on time. Whether it is that he is on vacation or was out of the office, he will never make it his fault for his lack of responsiveness. At the end of our wedding the manager had him apologize to us for his lack of responsiveness and missing an appointment we set with him. To which I found out he did begrudgingly. I thought he volunteered, but sadly he was made to do it. Even in his apology to us, he made sure no real fault was ultimately on him even his missed appointment with us.Through out the whole ordeal my family and I wondered why Todd was in charge of weddings when he has a personality of a wet blanket and shows little interest in upcoming wedding.Now to the venue itself:The night before the wedding, I came over to check on things and allow some of my relatives set up decorations and such. What I found was a dirty carpet with frosting and food on walls. Decorations had to wait till the morning so that Todd could get people to clean up. This definitely shows a lack of management skills. My family actually did some cleaning because the service was so slow.Pros: When things finally got up and going, the venue looked decent. Though I had to get a few family members to align all the tables in the banquet seating area. The tables, silverware and plates, and decorations showed definite signs of rushed organizing, which also had to be adjusted by me or family.Overall experience was ok because my family filled in Todds lack and other employees were willing to help us.

The course was in very good shape, helped in no small part to a lot of rain in May. Fairways were clear, greens were in great condition. The staff was excellent; very laid back and helpful. The course was not crowded and the other players were nice. All around a great experience.

Ive played the course 3 times this year and its been different every time. I played it this past Friday and it was in really good shape compared to the previous time I played (about 2 months ago). You can tell they are putting some time and effort into making this a really nice course. Even with the drought conditions weve been experiencing, the course is still very green and was a pleasure to play.

I am in the process of planning a wedding for next year and I loved the look of the venue HOWEVER, I decided to not do business with Hillcrest due to their lack of communication and their director of events (Todd). I called for 3 days, every hour, and left messages with his office, the director of golf, and the front desk and he failed to call back. Once he did call back he was very arrogant and rude. I could not imagine planning a wedding and dealing with his attitude and terrible communication. If you are interested in having your event at Hillcrest do not trust them to make your experience memorable for any GOOD reason.

The course is always in as good or better shape as those in the same area.Of the staff I have dealt with, some of the best around and make you feel welcome each time.I dont play there often as it is quite a drive for me, but when I do I am pleasantry surprised by the conditions and the staff.

No reward for hitting a good fairway shot. Way too much dead pan off the fairways. Not a fun time for many... Facility is lovely, however, just deceiving in relation to the golf course.

Hillcrest is a hidden gem in SE Kansas City. Its hilly terrain and excellent greens make it a nice value.

I had my wedding at hillcrest this September. Absolutely beautiful landscape. Wanted a place that had lots of pretty picture opportunities. Got married on the first tee which was so gorgeous! Little muddy but it had just rained the day before. They gave us a golf cart to go around the grounds. The ballroom was pretty and already decorated. Had a huge bridal suite and the groomsmen had an awesome space too with a pool table. They even got to go golfing that morning. Only complaint I have was that I didnt realize I would have had to pay extra to have the reception last a little longer. I thought we had the place as late as we wanted. I think there was a little miscommunication. They worked it out for me though and gave us a couple extra songs before ending the night. Overall I am so happy that I picked hillcrest. Awesome space for the price! Many people told us it was the best food and prettiest wedding they have ever been to! Thank you everyone at hillcrest! Justin and I had a blast!

Not what it used to be unfortunately. Still a unique old school layout with tight, sloped fairways. There isnt a flat lie on the course.
