Great place to have your wedding! Pat is great to work with and the venue is wonderful. He is very flexible and willing to work with you to ensure your wedding is a wonderful experience. I was married here in 2017 and still have excellent memories from the day! I highly suggest getting married here as this place is wonderful! I know other people that had their wedding their and very much enjoyed it! Parking was not a problem and the space was very clean! Thanks again Pat for a wonderful wedding!

We do not recommend 2016 Main. I’m not one to write reviews, but feel compelled to share with other couples so they do not have an experience like we did. Due to Covid, we had to postpone our wedding. At the time, we were under a city ordnance that mandated no large gatherings allowed. 2016 Main at first acted as if they would be flexible given this. Then, as the situation in KC grew worse, we were then told we could only move our wedding to the available date we wanted if we paid an additional 1,000 dollars. We understand that this is a hard time for all and that businesses are struggling during this time, but we didn’t appreciate the bait and switch, especially as we heard from other venues that they were not charging to change dates due to the pandemic. Further, we were told by 2016 Main that all venues were upcharging their couples to move dates, which was not true. Still, we were willing to work with him if they would meet us halfway. Instead they double downed. We were given the option to do a winter wedding (we have an outdoor ceremony at another location so that wouldn’t work) or a July date which we could not do due to our friends’ wedding dates. They didn’t want us to have a June wedding because they wanted to leave it open for new weddings because it would be more profitable for them. They chose profit over helping their current customers, which was a poor move. We then began looking at other venues, more than 5 others all that told us they were allowing their couples to pick any available date to move their weddings with no upcharge. We would like 2016 Main to recognize that if they had been more understanding and compassionate from the get go, they could have kept us as customers and avoided a poor review. In the future, kindness and understanding will always win. To add to things, they also charge an extra $800 for “taxes” which is a huge extra cost and one they said all venues in the crossroads charge. We asked the other venues we later toured if the $800 tax was included because we were told all venues charged this. People at the other venues in the Crossroads looked at us like we were crazy and said this was not a thing. Just another example of how we were misled. Why? Pat, the owner, was always polite but throughout the whole process we felt he tried to guilt us for asking for our deposit back for a service he would be unable to provide- a 180 person wedding that could not occur due to the city ordinance and was unwilling to let us pick our date without charging an extra 1,000 dollars. We do not wish ill will towards businesses during this time. But we really are disappointed that this didn’t workout better, especially since the venue is beautiful and at the start the people running it seemed promising. We hope they can learn from this so other couples have a better experience. 2016 Main, put your customers first ALWAYS. A pandemic is not something you could have prepared for, but this could have gone differently. ALL our wedding vendors have been so incredibly kind and flexible given this crazy situation. We ended up getting a lawyer involved and he still refused to give us our refund back even though we were not able to have our wedding according to our guest count that was promised in the contract. In the end he offered us 500 dollars to not speak badly about him or the venue. We chose to stick to our ethics and voice our experience. On a purely economic standpoint, you can find venues that are far less expensive and just as if not more beautiful and in great locations in the crossroads and in KC. Look for a venue that allows you to bring in your own alcohol and does not charge you for not using his DJ. This will save tons! Even by not getting our 2500 deposit back, we are still saving a significant amount of money by switching venues. Good Luck! I hope you find your perfect venue for your special day!

Pat the owner is a very rude person. He will promise you anything you want to hear but when it comes time for delivery of said promises, not so much.Our daughter got married here a couple weeks ago and it was a disaster .The room was not set up on time or correctly ( he couldnt even get the head table set up for the proper amount of people)He was rude to all involved with the wedding party both during the rehearsal dinner where he promised us 2 hours but upon arrival he informed us we would need to be quicker than 2 hours because he had concert tickets and he was NOT going to be late. He was rude to us during set up (after him being 20 minutes late) He refused to give a 6 year child a drink because Drinks were not included in the contract, (she wanted a sprite from the soda gun, cost about 2 cents per ounce out of the dispenser) TRUST me this place is NOT cheap, over 5K JUST for the venue for 12 hours!Pat started cleaning up our party 1.5 hours before we were supposed to be finished, he threw away many of our desserts because he wanted to clean up early because he was leaving for Vegas the next morning.Pat made verbal threats to several people when he was confronted about starting to clean up early, he called my son a Pu$$Y no less than 5 people heard him say this. He also grabbed the arm of the mother of the bride as he was trying to talk to her.Pat went into to the bridal suite unannounced with not bother of even knocking first, there were many young ladies getting dressed in there, some were partly naked, he was asked to leave and refused, he had to be pushed out by the mother of the bride.Pat was caught several times taking food from our buffet, USING HIS FINGERS no less!! GROSSI could keep writing about all of the horrible stuff he did but that would take more time than he or this venue deserve.Advice to pat, when you are selling a service you should go above and beyond to Make it happenI would think VERY hard before I rented this venue if I were you. Pat has a very short temper and very poor customer service skills, really make s you wonder how in the hell he even got into the service industry.BEWARE, you have been warned!

Just was there for my nieces wedding. Easy to decorate. They helped set up and answer all our needs. Offer private off street parking, which was a plus. Over all a beautiful venue.

Everything about this place was perfect for my daughters wedding. Pat and Jodi are amazing, helpful and easy going. Nice to be able to have both the wedding and reception in the same space. The staff took care of everything effortlessly. We got so many compliments about how beautiful and elegant the place looked.On the evening of the rehearsal the rain poured but in an instant there were umbrellas and Pat was driving guests to our restaurant two blocks away. What service!!In Kansas City this is the place to book for your event. I highly recommend it.

We cannot say enough great things about 2016 Main! Pat and Jodi were so amazing and easy to work with from start to finish. They did day of coordination which was seamless. The space is beautiful and was perfect for both our ceremony and reception. On top of all that, they are both honestly just great people whose personalities made us and our families feel welcome and at ease. Choosing 2016 Main was one of the best decisions we made!

As a meeting and event planner for Hallmark, we were looking for the perfect event space to turn into a winter wonderland for a Christmas in August event that ended a week long meeting. 2016 Main Event Space & Art Gallery could not have been more perfect. Not only was the space beautiful, but the owners, Pat and Jodi were so incredibly accommodating and truly wonderful people to work with. We loved 2016 Main and cannot wait to host more events there in the future.

Every time I go here for an event I think oh yeah Ive been here before

I attended a wedding here of a very good friend of mine. While the event space was gorgeous, you could see the owner through out the being highly disrespectful to BOTH brides, but to their families as well. Eating their food, taking down decorations hours before their reserved time was up, and barging into the bridal suite while the ladies were getting ready. For the amount of money they paid for this venue, the amount of disrespect the received from the owner will forever effect the memories of their wedding day. I wouldnt suggest wasting your money to be disrespected.

I officiated my sisters wedding here in October and while the space was gorgeous there was a lot of undue stress on the special couple due to the Owners actions. Luckily the families were able to step up and with the help of a third party caterer they were able to save the night.I overheard an argument between the owner and the couple in which the owner stated he was worried about bad reviews - and it seemed that was his only worry. In a field like this and on a day as important as that, customer service should be top priority. Unfortunately in this case it wasnt.There are many other pretty places to have your wedding without all the stress of a poorly managed venue - even on Main Street.

2016 Main is an absolutely stunning venue! If I could give this venue and it’s staff 10 out of 5 stars I would. The newly renovated event space brings a sophisticated look in the downtown area. Patrick and Jodi are an AMAZING team that strive to make your event run smoothly and perfectly! They were incredibly responsive and made my wedding day PERFECT! I would highly recommend this event space for any of your event needs!

Unless you like dealing with rude and arrogant venue owners on your wedding day, I would not book this venue.Pat Galvin, the owner of the venue, was the only problem we had all night and the only reason I do not recommend 2016 Main. Though the event space is beautiful, the customer service received by him far outweighed any beauty the venue brought to the table. The amount of stress and overall bad vibes he added to our day was completely uncalled for considering the amount of money we spent for the venue. If you do choose 2016 Main for your wedding day, I highly suggest that you request Scott as your day of contact/help in the venue. Had it not been for him stepping in for Pat and saving the day, our wedding could have been a disaster.From the start of the day, Pat walked into the venue angry and spread bad vibes to everyone in his presence. The venue was not set up on the agreed start time which set decorating the venue back 20-30 mins – which is A LOT on such a stressful day. He was very disrespectful and rude to our family who was there setting up. He barged into the girls bridal suite without knocking – a place where the bridesmaids were getting dressed and ready and someone could have very easily been naked. When my Dad finally pulled him aside to confront him on the way he was acting, he was ONLY concerned that we would now be leaving bad reviews for him. Eventually my mother in law had to ask him to leave the venue because he was putting a huge damper on the entire day. This is where Scott came in and was everything we needed him to be.During the actual wedding, I was told by several guests that they saw Pat sticking his fingers into our buffet and eating food – thinking no one was looking. At the end of the night he threw away all of our desserts left on the dessert table, without asking anyone if this was okay. Considering the night was so busy, we didn’t get to actually eat any of the desserts so this was super disappointing to us. Our contract was to have the venue until 1130, yet Pat started cleaning up and taking down decorations to the venue at least an hour and a half before that while guests were still there having a good time.Overall, our wedding was amazing, but only because we had awesome family and other vendors to make up for the ball dropped from the venue. Its really unfortunate that things went down the way they did, as upon first meeting Pat and his wife Jodi, we loved them. Its unfortunate that the service and friendliness did not follow us on the most important day of them all. I hope Pat learns from his mistakes from our wedding and does not make another couple go thru the day like we did. They may have experience with hundreds of weddings, but don’t allow them to treat you like you’re just another number.There are way too many options in Kansas City to settle, so don’t.

2016 Main is amazing! We had our reception here this past weekend and couldn’t be happier with things. Jodi and Pat were awesome to work with from day one. They are responsive, honest, professional and genuinely kind. You can tell they truly care. I wish we could do it all over again! You will be SO happy you picked 2016 Main!

I went here for a wedding and the venue was beautiful. If I lived in the area, this would have been a top choice for mine.The only complaint I have, and Im not entirely sure if its the venues fault, is that the bar was missing tequila and other standard mixers you see at other bars.Since Im not sure if the venue provides that service, I give them five stars.

Amazingly beautiful venue!! Too bad I cant give the same review towards the sub par professionalism and business with the owner Pat. I was a coordinator for a wedding at this location. His entire disposition was smug and unprofessional from the very second we stepped into the venue on the wedding day. He kept having verbal run ins with the parents. I tried to intervene asking Pat to please communicate through me to avoid perpetuating current issues. I relayed to him his aura and energy was off and causing riffs with the family. He went on to talk about a scenario that occured with the father of the bride that morning calling his wife Jodi to say all tables were not ready and available like it was agreed upon. He said the conversation upset her and she called him crying. Which led him to show up to the venue with bad energy. He said with everything going on all he could see was a poor review coming. Myself as well as the father of the bride said please dont treat us as such. Treat us like the paying customers we are. I stated that things happen and with him being a business owner he should know to conduct himself in a more professional manner.Dad of the bride tried to smooth things over with a hand shake- Pat half way shook his hand back while making underhanded comments under his breath. I told him its that energy right there which is whats causing the family to respond to him the way they are. The bride got wind of what was happening and got upset to the point of tears then asked if Pat could please leave. After he left it got better! His set up guy Scott was amazing! So accomodating. He was super friendly with good vibes. It wasnt until after the ceremony we encountered Pat again who I saw walking around the reception clearing off tables cleaning up peoples plates-Which wasnt asked of him nor was it his job to do. During the reception I saw him throwing peoples drinks away while they were on the dance floor. I know for a fact, because every time I came back to my table my drink was gone and he was the only one walking around cleaning. Mind you, the venue was reserved until 1130- midnight and he was witnessed removing decorations and cleaning 2-3 hrs before the scheduled time to be out of the venue. Eventually, we saw him blowing candles out on tables etc. Something was said to him by one of the moms about this which spiraled into another verbal altercation that came very close to a physical altercation as he called the brides brother out of his name. At this point guest are mostly gone the reception is shutting down and we are starting to clean up. There were real live flowers in his faux grass wall that a florist decorated. Pat removed the flowers and threw them on the floor as trash. He Didnt bother to perserve them for the couple nor ask what exactly they wanted done with them. There was an elaborate dessert table at the wedding. We housed extra desserts in Pats kitchen. While cleaning we noticed several of those paid food items thrown in the trash by him. All of this is unacceptable! Its also all so very unfortunate becquse this space is beautiful. When we reflected on the day, we all were in agreement it went off without a hitch EXPECT for the stresses from Pat. If you consider this venue please read all reviews and be prepared for whatevers to come because one minute hes hot next hes cold. Thats too much money at stake to play russian roulette with your wedding day.

I cannot stress how EASY Pat and Jodi were to work with for our wedding reception! The entire process with 2016 Main was seamless and stress free! They answered all of my questions promptly and gave the best suggestions! The 2016 Main Venue is great for hosting a wedding - we had roughly 170 guests but could have fit more easily - all the guests could see and hear without feeling like anyone was pushed to the sides. One of my favorite perks is that the sound system can be zoned in different areas of the venue meaning my great aunts/uncles stayed the entire time because they could talk in the back and still see the dance floor - they LOVED that! I can tell you that Pat and Jodi honestly care about each and every couple they work with - we loved how much time they put into our wedding and we will be visiting them on First Fridays!

The owners are so friendly and generous. We had our wedding reception here. Such a great night. Recently they have expanded the place. Overall, this is a great venue for a wedding. However, it is also a blast to go on first Fridays and check out the art, and get some drinks.

When we hosted our daughters wedding and reception at 2016 there were so many times Pat and Jodi were ahead of us knowing what was needed to make the perfect day. It doesnt get any better in the Crossroads District.

Amazing venue!!!!! I had to deliver a wedding cake on one of the hottest days of the summer to this venue. The owners were so helpful and attentive. The air conditioning was rocking when I got there. I was just SO appreciative of their help!!!!! Your in good hand here!!!!!

Owner Pat was very hostile and made everyone uncomfortable. Started arguments with guests throughout the night. Made the bride cry several times. Dont do it.
