The boardwalk at this river walk is getting dangerous. They already have one section blocked off with a sign saying for repairs. Was there today with my family, my wifes foot/leg fell straight through some rotten boards while pushing my son in his stroller and had to squeeze her leg back out. Thankfully she just suffered scrapes and bruises. Most other boards are so warped you trip over them. Pretty sketchy place to walk with your family. It could be a really nice area if it was properly maintained.

This was a beautiful hidden gem in the city of Jacksonville.

This is an outstanding place excellent parking, clean restrooms and one of the best boat launch ramps in eastern North carolina.

Nice scenary of boats on the water. Plenty of sitting areas for lunch/dinner plans.

The parks are kept up beautifully. and its a great place to pokemon.

Nice park. The vets memorial done really well. Not a place to eat or anything, just come for the remembrance and respect.

We were here for my brothers wedding. It was a beautiful spot for a wedding & would be a beautiful spot for most anything! A person was sitting in a secluded spot reading & others were waiting for us to get off the pier so they could fish. It would also be a great spot for a picnic. A really nice spot!

I like this park, its right downtown, has a view of the water, and is never crowded. That being said its also very close to the road and doesnt really get the full immersion I am looking for when going to a park. There are no public restrooms at this park either, and from what Ive seen no water fountains. But they do have benches and trash cans. So at least thats available. This park is good for a quick stroll or just to sit down a few minutes and gaze at the water.

Relaxing place

Its an okay park. I liked looking at the water. My suggestion would be a good pressure wash of the decking and just some general maintenance.

Good quiet place to be by yourself. Didnt always use to be a fishing spot on the other side but oh well. Good for going on a run through the old part of town

It was a great place to sit with our son before taking him back to Camp Geiger.

Screw Pokemon Go!! This is a spot to enjoy the natural essence of the New River. Its a slow moving, glass top river that needs way more appreciation than people give it. The oldest little house in Jacksonville is right beside this area. The Court house is located right across the street, so once you realize how much your court costs are for passing a stopped school bus and how much your car insurance is going to ravage your wallet, you can go and sit by the water and weep like a child because you make horrible, immature decisions like passing a school bus.

Looked run down and some of the boards were rotted on the walk area. A few homeless on the benches in the shade. Nothing really to do and not a very long area to walk. We were at the area across from the courthouse.

Cute little spot for a nice water view, but I wouldnt consider it much of a park.

Kind of boring unless there is an event but then the parking sucks! Not enough parking fit large events.

Here for an event, there is litter everywhere. Its sad and disgusting.
