A wonderful place for the family! Great customer service and great prices! Not to mention, just the historic architectural design of the building itself is jaw-dropping. Id highly recommend going at least once just for the experience

Excellent value. Main theater has Dolby 7.1 sound. Ticket prices only adult $7 opening night. With wife for Infinity Wars less than $25 for Saturday Night 9pm show WITH popcorn & soda. Clean. Comfortable. Great art decor design.Nice job City of Ionia.

The Ionia Theatre is the show piece of this small towns Main Street. The marquee is fantastically eye catching and historic. All of the concessions and ticket takers are volunteers who are happy to serve the community and help keep this historic (1931) theatre alive with affordable prices and first run movies.

Love the Ionia Theatre. Small home town, the original theatre is still mostly original. And beautiful. And a smaller newer one is comfortable too! The only complaint I have is the prices for the movie tickets for Adults are $6.50 and the Popcorn and drinks have gone up. So for 2 adult tickets, 2 med soft drinks and 2 med Popcorn it cost $27. To me thats not the small town prices we used to have!

Saw my grandsons last Christmas program here. It is such a wonderful old theater that adds to the experience. They also have up to date movies to go see!

OK, this review is totally unfair as my only trip the theater was to see Billy String and his dad which was epic. The Ionia theater is very nice and comfortable.

Best theater. Watched a community musical there. We had a great time. The ceiling is the coolest. My nieces had never been there before and they were very impressed.

Loved loved loved this theatre. Been in this area for about a year and completely underrated this place. We first went to this place during the harvest festival (which was super fun by the way) and went to the theater to buy popcorn because it smelled so good. We bought some popcorn and found out that we could buy the movie advertisements (posters) for $1.00!!! How cool is that!!! Because of that we decided to see a movie there.We went to see the Grinch and the theatre room was huge and so cool we just loved it. For 2 adults 2 kids medium popcorn large pop and 2 kids combos we only paid $30 which for us is a super steal!Although they only show two movies at a time the theatre is definently worth going to. We will definitely be back to this place.

This is one of the old theaters that originally was built for Vaudeville shows. They have kept it pretty much original inside and out. A neat old building it takes you back in time. I would give them 5 stars except for the fact that they dont have all the services of the newer theaters, such as butter for the popcorn, newer seating, Etc. They had one person behind the counter, Teresa , selling tickets and serving up Confections. She did a great job and kept her smile going all the while. All in all its a pretty good experience to go there in the movie was pretty good too.

The smaller theater has comfy seats but the big one doesnt. Auction off those unbearably uncomfortable seats for something more ergonomic and comfortable...

A Absolute Great Local Theater!

Movies dont work half the time and they are so un organized. But the people are friendly and care about the community. The performances they put are excellent.

Had a good time at the theater

I literally just went to the worst movie theatre in the world. There was green lines all over the screen and when multiple people complained they did nothing about it. In order to fix the problem, half way through the movie they turned off the whole movie to try and fix it. After like 20 minutes they finally turned the movie back on but they completely restarted it adds and all The movie that was supposed to start at 7:00 didn’t start until 7:45. Maybe this “coincidence” had something to do with the fact that this building was built in the 1800s. Just saying. Not to happy with Ionia Theatre right now.

This is a beautiful nostalgic theater. Its how movies are supposed to be watched. Velvet seats. Sloping floor. Brings back great memories from a kid and those theaters. Go see a movie how Hollywood meant you to. State of the art digital projectors. No wait staff bringing dinner to other movie goers. Lol.

Staff is super friendly and the theater is very comfortable. Its kept very clean. Two theater screens and the prices are low here but still there is great screen and sound quality.

Our favorite theatre to go to when we are at our summer place! Way cheaper than the theatres in the Detroit area and everybody is super nice. Dont expect to show up too early to the first showing though as there wont always be someone there yet to open up. We made a special trip last holiday season to see Star Wars and plan to repeat that trip in the next couple weeks.
