The nicest, most respectful staff here. They were so knowledgeable and kind! I came in pretty intimidated as I would feel in any other gun shop but once you talk to an employee, you know that they are genuine and know their stuff. Theyve got a good selection too. This is the only place Ill be going for firearms and ammo. I definitely recommend this place!!

Fantastic experience here - guys on the front desk were very knowledgable, patient and relaxed with everything we did or asked. Recommended different guns to try and targets! Range itself is clean although some of the lanes don’t work for further placed targets. Popular with the locals too!

Great selection! Good people! They are very knowledgeable and honest about their opinions. Theyll give it to you straight. Bought a bunch of stuff there, especially cases of ammo. Theyre always helpful with PPT, even when theyre busy with potential customers. Theyve help me out a handful of time in the past, when Jackson arms turn me down.

Warning for those of you who come alone, their new policy is that you cannot rent a gun if you come alone or do not own a gun. I own lots of guns back in my home country and I just moved here. Looking for a place to shoot and honestly I do not have a friend in LA who would come with me. So dont come alone

Either Gave us false or confusing information during the briefing . The man told us we could sign a waiver for a minor as long as i was 21 yrs of age or older. So after waiting with my little brother on his birthday for about an hour . We get inside and they said we weren’t allowed to shoot. I tried to explain what the man outside said and the guy behind the counter said I was lying and that they never said that. Very rude and unprofessional. I am a service member and have been to many ranges . This by far is the WORST experience .

The staff was all polite, came outside to make sure we had our waivers prior to coming in. Showed me and my friend how to handle, load, and fire a 9mm and a 12 gauge. Couldnt ask for better service and we will refer them to anyone who wants to fire a gun in the city.

30 minute slots right now instead of 1 hr. 25 yard range if anyones wondering.Went here on a Thursday, about a 45 minute wait. I think thats a given right now, and the staff handled it well. Easy in and out staff were helpful. I think Ill pick up the yearly pass next time Im here and skip the line.

Incredibly fun! From Australia makes this experience even more unique.Could be a bit cheaper but the hot guy giving the turorial made the extra $$ worthwhile.If I was bolder I’d have asked for his number when getting a list of food recommendations.Albeit, the guns are well maintained, the area is clean, people are friendly and willing to ask all of the mundane questions we may have had.

Staff is professional so make sure you follow all the rules.The range is safe, theres usually some newbie shooters there so obviously its a welcoming range.If you are new to shooting make sure you go with someone who is safe or get an instructor to help you.You can rent guns here and buy ammo. I went there to accompany a friend for a 2 hour instructional class with Heather. She presented useful information and was friendly, professional, and likeable. Same goes for the other staff there. Would go back if in the area!

Great service!!! I bought an ar lower receiver here for my build and the guys at the shop were super helpful!! I was told that the background check would take a little longer than usual but to call them anyways on the 10th day and I did and they had it ready no probIm totally coming back here for my future builds and to get ammo!!

Poor customer service, one of the staff has a massive attitude problem and are not interested in teaching first timer. This one guy that works there act like he is forced to show us how to use the gun and explaining the rules.

Gun range is decent, but they rent guns to people who don’t know gun safety. Two guys brought back in a rifle with a round still in the chamber. I believe they banned them, but still unnerving.

PHILIP.... Is the rudest employee ever and EVERYTIME. He makes me feel as if its a racial Thing. If you do go there,PLEASE!! try to avoid him .Ive been shooting at LAX for years and let me tell you, I will N E V E R spend my money their if I have to encounter him again. Its sad but true. Staff were super friendly, and explained all the do’s and fonts so patiently, you can really tell that safety comes first here. Wide selection of guns, and they give you the protective gear. This is the most American thing you can do, highly recommend it, and I took home my target sheets.

On Tuesday May 26 2020, I was excited about testing my brand new out the box mossberg ,but when I arrived I was greeted with the upmost disrespectful man named Philipi beleive. I will never shoot their again.

I just went for my first time shooting a gun/my gun and it was awesome, even tho it was a long wait bcuz of COVID-19, it was still a pleasant and easy experience. It helped that u fill out your waivers online ahead of time. Ammo was reasonably priced and the place itself was orderly and clean. I spent about 160 bcuz i forgot my own equipmwnt and bought 250.rounds but it was worth it! Had a great time and i would recommend. Parking lot is in the back altho i recommend getting there early because i was lucky enough to get the last spot available.

There is no structure...called and asked if I needed to make an appointment and the person I talked to said I could just walk in. I waited in the line outside for over an hour with no movement and no one knew what was going on? I left and don’t think I’ll return...

This is a great local range. I have seen some changes over 30 years since my first visit. The place is great. The staff is great. The only issue is some customers really should learn some common sense safety protocols before showing up. This is not Chuckee Cheese. Bring your smart hat when arriving and everyone will have a safe, good time.

This is from 1995, Place was great. I have not been back in at least 20 years so will try and see if the staff, rules, price are still as good as then. I used to bring my own ammo just because well I dont like reloads unless I do them myself or someone I know well. Will update after a long needed revisit.

Very friendly staff and professional instructor. I have taken several private training sessions at the range. Utilizing a range rental firearm: Ruger Revolver GP 100 Three inch barrel 357 Magnum. Truly an enjoyable experience with my instructor Raheem. Great place to take firearm training with a private instructor. Or just to go and target practice on your own.

Totally awesome experience. We turned up as two total beginners. Staff could not have been more helpful; really keen to help, friendly but very professional. Told us everything we needed to know. We didnt book;or need to. You pay rental for range, and one single firearm rental, then can try from a wide range - 20 + firearms. We tried 3 semi-auto 9mm,then two 45s (Magnum revolver and Desert Eagle), then Assault Rifle! Just pay extra for rounds. Total price for two for an hour + guns + over 100 rounds + 10 target sheets+ ear/eye protectors :under $100. Outstanding, thanks LAX

Yesterday I took a two hour beginning firearms training lesson with Dane and it was worth every cent. In that time we looked at a selection of handguns and went over safety dos and donts, some gun history, proper firing techniques, how to operate each weapon... basically everything one would need to know to go from never having fired before to shooting with confidence. Dane was very open to my questions and wasnt afraid to go into detail on a subject if I wanted to know more. Our time on the range was spent trying that same array of handguns to see what I liked best. My experience at LAX was thoroughly satisfying and well spent. This course is perfect for someone whos never come into contact with guns and doesnt know where to start. Thanks LAX! I cant overstate how happy I am that I went.

They will try to rip you off on price. I was told it was only $7 extra for using an additional gun but total came to almost $100 and nearly double original total price. Expect to pay more than what you planned on, they are not clear on pricing.

Love this range. Wait times are not bad and I’ve been there at all different times during weekend and week.No nonsense and EASY! Markland always takes care of me and is willing to help me with any questions I have about the range or my own marksmanship.Thanks for doing a great job!

My wife and I came here today as we had a few hours to kill before our flight this evening. As its a Saturday we had to wait around an hour to get on the range. Checking in and verification checks were pretty smooth, the paperwork took under 10 minutes to complete. As Europeans, we used our passports as verification as we dont have any local identification, which wasnt an issue. We got called forward to be given a lane and was asked which weapons we would like. The staff have the weapons on show and are readily available and they offer recommendations if you are unsure which to use. You can only take one weapon at a time to the range. They have a variety of handguns, shotguns, and rifles available to use. Their range is 25m and you can only use the weapons in single shot. The staff always introduce you to the weapons and show you how to safely use them before offering the weapon to you and give you plenty of opportunities to ask questions and see how the weapons work. We had an incredible time shooting an AR15 rifle, magnum revolver and a 9mm pistol. Pricing was very respectable (We spent $120) and was on the lane for nearly two hours before we needed to leave for our flight. The staff were friendly and unless you had an issue they pretty much left you to it. The staff were accomodationg towards storing our luggage and ensured we had enough paperwork (in case we were stopped by airport security for having traces of gun powder) I would recommend this place if you havent used a firearm before (as was the case of my wife) as they ensured you were happy you could use the weapon safely. Would recommend visiting during the week unless you dont mind a 1 hour wait for a lane.

This fire range is awesome. Its very easy to use and get a turn even without reservations. They range is narrow and designed safely, they sell some good products and personal items like glasses and self defence and safety. The targets have automated buttons to move it closer and further till the end of the range. I think its simple and practical.

I love coming here. I frequently go to the range and staff there is amazing. I love going to LAX. They are helpful and range is always clean and you have options for purchasing gun cleaning and equipment. I recomend their shooting range.

Great location. Closest one to here is the valley. Usually quite the wait time, but late night weekdays are sometimes quite. Prices can be high, but if you’re an avid shooter they offer memberships that make a lot of sense to save you some money.

If you think LA lacks firearm enthusiasts, think again. The LAX Firing Range is full of fun and second amendment protectors that will make you feel like youve left the west side. The facility is clean and there are plenty of nice handguns to rent if you dont have a firearm of your own (if its your first time, Id recommend a Sig Sauer).

Great range but horrible customer service. They know that their range is the best quality around so they treat the customers poorly. I’ve spent a lot of time/money and they still talk to me badly. The staff used to be be awesome last year but they decided to hire bad tempered individuals. They also do minimal effort when it come to helping first-time shooters so I help them so I don’t get shot.

I wanted to complete the beginners two hour course, had a look on the website which required card details without providing a booking slot or confirmation of booking, that seemed a little weird to me so I decided to call instead. I spoke to one of the staff on Sunday, asking if there were available slots on Tuesday, he took my contact number and explained that he would call me on Tuesday to confirm a slot. Given that I had a UK contact number, I decided it may be better to give them a call. On Tuesday morning a few minutes after opening time, I called and spoke to the same member of staff who instantly recognised my voice. He explained he had noted my number and name and as promised will contact me sometime during the day. That was at 11am. I waited throughout the day in anticipation of the call. It never came. It would have just been courtesy to call and inform me that there were no availability for the day rather than have me waiting around for the day.

Went to LAX for the first time today. Waited 10 min in line to rent a lane only to be told the range is down the hall, through the double doors. Some signage would have been nice so I didn’t have to waste my time. Tried to rent two lanes, but the wait was 2-1/2 hours! F that, I’m out! Not sure if the wait is always this long, but I’m not about to wait over two hours. Oh well, off to dumpy old Sharpshooter. Called ahead, no wait.

Good Range for Shooting, Not So Great for Instruction: Good clean range, fair prices, and knowledgeable staff—with one exception… When taking initial instruction, a short class to learn the basics of shooting, the instructor didnt mention eye dominance, and my need to figure out which eye was my dominant eye, before starting target practice.I closed my right eye, kept my left eye open, and couldnt hit anything—no matter how much time or money I wasted on practice. Maybe that was the point? Im not sure, but I dont think so. However, its a very important part of training that was left out, so Id train someplace else if you really want to train properly.Years later I read an article about eye dominance, in regards to something entirely different, and tried shooting again—someplace else, of course. My shooting improved 1000%!

Good spot to shoot rifles! Not sure but I think the new hours are 9am til 6 or 7pm.. I never got to try the late hours! Hopefully they keep some late hours for those who cant make it earlier. 10pm was a good time to close imo

I like going here. The staff are friendly and fun, the price is right, and there’s no BS. Fill out the waiver beforehand, it’ll save you time when you get there.It’s busy; always. Expect to wait a few minutes depending when you get there. I found the price of ammo to be fair and the range fee to be fair also. Other than that...it’s a firing range, not the Ritz.I like the vibe here. I had to wait my first time there, but it wasn’t bad. There are tables to sit at and a lot of merchandise to shop to keep you occupied until your turn comes up. Everyone I’ve encountered there has been friendly, staff and patrons alike. The only somewhat negative thing I can say is the range can get smokey at times, but it’s short lived. Now, shut up and shoot.

The staff were super friendly as they explained the California rules and how they couldnt rent to me since I didnt have a gun of my own and I was by myself. We talked laws and guns for a bit. They seemed to have a decent selection of guns for rent. Certainly not the newest facilities I have seen at a range.

This is my second and last time. Just go to downtown, arm selection its very limited and attitude is very poor, staff main focus its just to help hot woman instead of providing the friendly and professional service a real range has to offer. Im taking my hard earned money downtown LA range instead, they have superb service and honestly a better gun selection tenfold.

They do the bare minimum for a gun range. The guy serving us couldn’t be less interested and clearly has a massive attitude problem, and there is no safety supervision so anything could go unchecked.I’ve never seen such negligence on a firing range

I dislike Public* Shooting Ranges but I LOVE THIS PLACE.Its a Range with a lot of space, smart rules, well informed & relaxed staff without the Rambo attitudes, great management, well maintained & diverse armaments, plenty of retail stuff, discounted ammo & their bulk ammo store is 100 feet away.*in public ranges, people that are dangerous with a hot cup of coffee in thier hands are lethal when its a weapon

I highly recommend this shooting range. The prices are much better than Las Vegas. You can rent a large variety of handguns and they also rent shotguns and ARs.Prices were : range fee= 16 $ per hour per person; firearm rental fee= 15$ (and you can change several guns in this same price); 75cents for a paper target; bag of 100 9mm rounds around 50$.They also have a large parking area behind their ammo store.

Two friends, my girlfriend and I visited here on a weekday to experience shooting some handguns and semi-auto centrefire rifles as this is banned in the U.K. :(The staff at the range were incredibly helpful, set us up with what we wanted and following a quick briefing for us out on the lanes.We had such a great time we will be looking to fit in another trip before flying home if possible!Thanks LAX firing range!!

I had read up on all the shooting ranges near me so I knew what to expect. Good selection on weapons, but I always roll with my glock. I had fun, the place is what you would hope for in a indoor shooting range. Only thing is, its small compared to others...only reason why they didnt get five stars. Still, I say you check it out.

Great range and a no-nonsense staff. Fill inn the online range waiver before you get there and you will be shooting within 5 minutes of arrival. They have a good selection of handguns to try and they gave us some good advice on which to try. A great experience!

This is an updated review from 9/14/16. The first couple times that I came here, it was a bad experience. It was unorganized and the employees were rude. Last time I went, we were able to get a lane quickly and were greeted by helpful employees who were happy to answer our questions.I will increase my review to five stars once I consistently have good experiences here at LAX Firing Range.

This place is horrible, mainly because the employees are terrible at their job and the website does not explain their rules. I went in to try a gun that I am thinking of buying. I called them in advance. Inquired as to whether they had the gun. Was told that the gun was available for testing. I know California firearm laws and I had checked out their website, so I thought I was good to go. Instead I got there 20 minutes after I called them. I stated which gun I wanted to try out, and he asked if I was firing alone. Which I was because I went there for the purpose of trying out this one gun. He refused to allow me entry unless 1) I had someone with me, or 2) brought my own gun. Note, I am over the age of 18, I have owned and bought guns for most of my life, and have never been convicted of a crime. So, needless to say I was a little surprised by this rule.Here are my thoughts:First of all, if this is a rule put it on the website. This is not a state law. This is not a federal law. So let people know without wasting their time. Second, if I was inquiring when I called, they should have told me on the phone. Again, dont waste someones time.I noticed that one of the reviewers raved at how they follow the rules. And I agree that when it comes to firearms, you dont want people screwing around. But if there is a requirement like this, put it on the website.

My experience with Mark and Tomas were awesome. Their customer service was excellent and Im African American and dont agree with the notion that they dont like African American people. LAX Firing Range is one of the premier indoor shooting ranges in Los Angeles. The staff is friendly and pricing on reloaded ammunition is good.If you plan on frequenting the range, its highly recommended to get a membership. Range time is free with a membership and your friends get a discount on range fees as well.Because LAX Firing Range is so popular, you will get a lot of tourists and first-time shooters who arent the most knowledgeable in gun safety and range etiquette. Dont be afraid to say something to employees if someone is being unsafe.

Got my Glock 30 and 27 cleaned. They did a GREAT job. Sure, you can do it yourself, but I go there, and learn something new each time. Go early, because that place is REALLY busy.
