Really great hockey venue! 2 full size rinks and the puddle (small rink available to rent for private events). Frequently visit to watch the Beer League games (fan of The Ogilthorpes). This weekend we came to experience the State Championship games. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!! We also enjoyed the great food and beverage selections in the Center Ice Tavern. XI is implementing and practicing safe pandemic protocols

BE CAREFUL!! I stopped by here the other day to check this place out. They have great big open rooms where the floors are covered in ice!People were sliding around on their feet until they fell onto the ice! Not sure why people would pay money to punish themselves in this manner.

My daughter wanted to try a new place for ice skating.. so we ended up taking the 45 minute drive out to this place. Upon arrival it was already hard to find parking so I could only imagine what inside looked like. When we walked in, it was extremely busy just as I expected! On top of that it was definitely hard to find what and which line to check in at. The lines were all over the place. You had the birthday check in line, the hockey line, the main rink line which was for us as general admission($14 G.A/ rental skates per person). There are a few side benches to sit but easily to lose your spot if gone for a second or if you dont mind standing. The DJ played out the same songs more of the late 80s, 90s mix plus kid friendly songs. The bathrooms were unsanitary and no paper towels in the womens restroom. I would think they would have staff to check in/out from time to time being that this place is so busy. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and everyone had fun for hours. FYI, make sure to check online on their website for public skating dates and times

Fantastic place to skate and have a good time. I love to ice skate and this is the place to go. Good prices, big rink, concession desk. Its an awesome place.

Awesome place to skate even for figure skaters.Public is sometimes packed so if you wanna practice call before to see about birthday parties on the public. But the staff there are very welcoming and nice. I just recently moved here and had to find a new coach and rink to skate at so to come here and be welcomed was amazing.

Kids had a blast. Husband had a blast. I watched because I do not want to fall. Music was auditorilly pleasing. Gonna check out the bar next time. Oldest wants lessons, even though it was only her first time. The seal you can rent for the little ones is cool. The snow they let fall is a fun affect. We will return.

This was our first time here. We were there for free hockey day with our kids. The staff and the players were really nice. And the players encouraged the kids which helped them have even more fun. We really enjoyed ourselves and will return.

Fun 3xcept my ankle problems

My sons hockey team had a tournament here this weekend. Saturday was great! We enjoyed sitting upstairs and watching our team from above!Sunday was not as enjoyable. We expected to sit upstairs again, where it’s a bit warmer. Unfortunately you can’t sit up there unless the bar is open. Naturally the bar wasn’t up at 10:00am. That was disappointing. It would have been nice to sit up there even if the bar was closed since you’re not actually in the bar.My main complaint is the rude employee in the pro shop. I was shopping for my son while he was getting dressed. I wanted to purchase new cup shorts. I was a little unsure of the size as these were a different style than what he normally wears. The employee asked me in a condescending tone if I even know what size my son wears to which I replied a size small in his normal cup shorts. The employee then tells me well that’s not the same, you need to know his actual waist measurement. (What mom even knows that at any given moment? Not me.) I explained to the employee I didn’t know his waist measurement and his response was how about his name, do you even know your sons name? Up until that point I planned on purchasing his normal size because they looked like they’d fit. I couldn’t measure his waist as these were going to go in his Christmas stalking. Needless to say, I didn’t buy them because of this guys obnoxious attitude. Sure, it’s a small sale for such a large facility but you lost my business. In addition, other parents from our team heard this exchange which turned them away from purchasing as well. This guy is clearly miserable with his job.

Cleanest ice rink I have ever been in.

Wow, what a facility. Visited for some open skating and was surprised with how nice the venue is. Great ice - well kept. Plenty of seating and a nice bar and restaurant on the second level to pass time if your are just watching.

Love Extreme Ice Center! Its a great family environment with quality instructors for skating, hockey, figure skating, pilates and more. The staff makes you feel like family! Our sons have called this their home away from home for years now. Our youngest plays hockey out of state now, but still loves to come home and train here!

Went here while on vacation visiting family over the holiday. The session we went to (3 hours long) was not that crowded and allowed us to show my kids how to skate since this was their first time on the ice. They have walker type things to learn on and even these little seals (both plastics) that you can push smaller children around the ice on which was a lot of fun. We have a great time there and would definitely go back when we visit again (its only a few minutes from where our family lives). We were able to use a few coupons to cut the cost which only made it even better!The only thing that we did not love was when they turned the lights mostly off during skating. While this was fun it seemed dangerous with all the people on the ice plus the aforementioned plastic devices.

This place is so great. It is very clean and spacious, and is has a restaurant bar where you can drink and eat while the kids are practicing. The food and drinks are also great and the prices are low (similar or lower than an average sports bar out there)

Food is surprisingly good for this type of establishment. Tried the buffalo chicken dip and would totally get again. Great service.

The dj was straight in awful. Not one song was played through. The ice was well kept. Lots of kids but it was still ok to skate.Wish they had a kids rink tho.

Highly upset with this place and will never visit again! We had a Birthday Party planned here today with a large group of people so I even called 2 weeks in advance to be certain that all would go well. So, instead, at 30 minutes prior to our arrival time, one of the moms sends me a screenshot of the schedule which says that a Hockey game is scheduled for today and asked is this the correct place?. She was pulling it up online to get directions and find out more information about what to expect since they have never been, LUCKILY for me, because all of our children would have only gotten to skate for 20 minutes! I had to scramble to find something else that we could go do and quickly notify everyone of the change in plans!!!! A Birthday was ruined because I was given misinformation, or not given the correct information that was needed to successfully plan ahead. Had I I been told that you would be closing General Skating early today, we could have selected another day or time. This is VERY unacceptable customer service in my honest opinion!When I called I spoke with the young man who answered and explained everything; how many people we were bringing, how many hours we wanted to skate, and the day and exact time we were coming.NEVER once were we informed that they would be closing within 20 minutes of us arriving!Had my girlfriend not looked online and found this information, everyone would have been put out with the unneccessary drive and I would have looked like a total idiot! I guess its my fault for not confirming with a manager and trusting this guy/ taking him at his word.... especially when I know employees arent at all knowledgeable nor do they care about anything these days, unless it is video games or Facebook! SMH < Rolling my eyes! >You need to hire more competent staff and TRAIN your employees better! The communication was extremely lacking here and lots of folks, who had planned to have a fun-filled day, went home ANGRY since the replacement place we found closed within 30 minutes of our arrival : ( NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!Every single other option was completely booked.

The prices are very reasonable and I had a blast skating. I didnt sample the food but they do have a tavern and some food there if you get hungry. Good place for kids to learn to skate too with a smaller rink for kids. Not too crowded either when we went so there was less of a chance of crashing into someone else.

Good place to have a childs birthday party. The party area is not private but with easy access to the rink it makes play time a breeze. The layout allows for attentive hosts to keep an eye out and allow parents to drop off their kids. The pizza is not stellar but it is good and they also have hot cocoa in a jug for the table. You can also purchase a ride on the Zamboni for the birthday kid. The best part is the pricing, such a great value.

Great place to go ice skating. The rink has a cool flags in it. I would suggest you bring food with you unless you plan on eating the food they have their. Other than that the location is not to far from anywhere in Charlotte and the rink is a good size to get races in and go have a little fun. Whether you know how to skate or are just learning the experience overall here should leave you saying I want to go back.I always prefer being my own ice skates but they do offer rentals. They have both ice hockey and figure skates to get.They have three rinks and the smallest one is pretty much used for hockey

We came here on New Years Day and had a ball. Of course the kids could go forever, so it was nice to head upstairs to the restaurant/lounge and sit on the balcony where I could still watch the kids out on the ice. We swapped out ice skates a couple of times to zero-in on the best size. The staff gave us no problems and were very friendly!

The staff is great, ice is frozen, and beer is cold. It is a great place for child skating development.

A nicely decorated and appointed rink. It feels like a ski lodge. The food was good at the restaurant/bar upstairs. The pro shop is buzzing and has an assortment of equipment. Unfortunately not much for goalies. All in all a good rink.

Very nice facility very clean and not crowded... However it was middle of the week in the afternoon.

Don’t go here place is awful lady at the front told me I need full gear for stick and puck which is unheard of I’ve always only needed stick, pucks, and helmet. Then she told me for $75 I can rent the puddle for an hour to shoot around. Way too expensive for an hour. I wouldn’t recommend this rink to anyone.

All of your ice recreation needs are found here. Figure skating, hockey, public skating, skating classes, camps, etc. Exercise caution after they clean the ice because its super slick (which is a good thing). Its a really big rink for those of you who dont watch hockey.

I had a lot of fun , but my friend got a small break in her ankle Though they gave ice and took her to a back room they didnt pay for any fees and tried to play it off like it was just sprained. The staff was pretty nice though

These guys are great they really are it is truly a family oriented place. They care and go out of their way to ensure you have the best experience. They have great hockey and figure skating coaches who are wonderful and work with the kids great. Of you are going and wish for lessons as for tappy, by far the best.

Always a great time for kids and adults. Huge indoor skate rink, staff friendly. 2 hrs of free skate for 14 bucks is well worth it.

Love the staff and facilities! An excellent option for a family outing, getting some exercise, and learning to skate. The tavern upstairs is greatly limited with vegetarian or healthy options, but offers a variety of drink/craft beer options and comfortable seating to watch either rink.

Watch out for Public skating.They Always put the hockey games first above Public Skating.You may show up to skate and wait an hour for them to stop playing.Awful to the Public.

Wonderful place to have a great time! The prices are reasonable, and the service is great. I went skating with my friends last Sunday and I ended up falling - a second later a skate guard, Nate, came over and checked to see if I was alright. I love how they really care and make sure youre okay if you fall! Will recommend this ice rink to others.

Great place. Played pick up hockey and ice was fantastic.

Freindly staff. Other customers are even helpful here too. Can go as just a group of friends or on a nice date. Offers walkers for kids or even seals for parents to push their child on.

I love extreme ice! This is a great place to come and skate, work out or watch a hockey game or practice. Though the skates are starting to get really old and probably need to be replaced soon, everything else is fine. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly for the most part. Thank you extreme ice!

They offer training classes and open skating during certain times. I enrolled my four and seven year old in ice skating classes. Highly recommend if you love ice skating or want to learn.

I purchased skates on a credit card and paid cash for a $100 gift card years ago with no expiration. Went with my family of 8 a little over a week ago and their systems changed so they wouldn’t honor the card. The manager wasn’t in so I called but got no response back this far. Rental skate tore the kids feet up so badly and bruised my ankle. We also rented a dolphin glider and other for a young toddler but wasn’t necessary as their was an abundance at the rink and available. All said and done cost us over $150 with rentals and food plus the $100 I paid for the gift card. Extremely disappointed in what I though was going to be a great experience.

Not the best service, very rude general managers, most of the employees there dont seem to care about much of anything. The rinks are pretty nice and well kept. Usually the place is kept rather clean too. Worst part about this rink is probably the figure skating community, the coaches are fine, its the rude and uppity figure skating clientele that suck.

The upstairs where the gym and restaurant are located is not handicap accessible. I would think that since the US Men’s Paralympic Sled Hockey team likes to come there that this might be changed in the future. Overall, this is the best ice rink facility that I have been to in the Southeast. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Very Nice Place, very well kept. Ive always found the staff to be very willing to help. Ive always been treated well and most importantly my children have always been treated well. We were very happy with the Learn to Skate program and I also played some adult hockey. My only wish is that there was a rink just like this one in the Lake Norman area!All the Best!

Much fun for kids and grown up kids. Two large skating rinks. Friendly service at the service counters. 1 star removed for the much improvement needed in the concession area. Concession area is dirty and food options were very very pricey and lacking in nutritional food value. If you come to eat, bring lots of money. If you come to skate, you will have lots of fun. Enjoy

Love that they have 2 large rinks and a small one. Friendly staff. Fun bar upstairs. Wish curling was still there, but happy curling built their own place. Prices are reasonable.

Love the setup you dont have been in the rink area. Ther are benches in front of windows to the main rink.

The ice is always in great shape and their hockey programs are well organized and well run. The staff is always friendly and courteous as well. They have a nice bar and concession stand as well. The pro shop is well stocked but the one blemish is the skate sharpening. I have never had a good result with my skates and others on my team have had similar experiences. They come out pretty dull every time . Besides the skate sharpening I highly recommend this rink to anyone interested in playing or just going out for a skate.

Awesome! Great programs for the kids and adults. They also have the best Tavern Around! They have a great Banquet room to host any event and the birthday parties are always a blast. Great staff & management. Check out the coolest place in town!
