This is my absolute FAVORITE store to get supplies for our aquariums. My son & I are here almost every weekend! The employees are SO knowledgeable and go out of the way to help, offer products, and make sure any question we have is answered. We are new to the saltwater aquarium hobby, and they have put our minds at ease and make it enjoyable instead of overwhelming. Weve been to other stores in the area and they just dont compare to Nemos!

Always extremely helpful. I started my reef tank 2 years ago, and they helped me with my issues and questions. I got a nice serpent starfish and some hermit crabs to help the rest of my clean up crew. ( the kole tang I got over a year ago ) and its been a great addition.

I just wanted to say how impressed I am with Nemos. I came in today to get a few clowns to cycle my tank. I was greeted at the door and helped right away. I came in with my 3yr old and the store employee was so helpful with everything. He even walked around with us as my 3yr old daughter ran from tank to tank. I think his name was Kyle. He even fed their fish for my daughter. I cant say enough about how well we were treated. Definitely my go to Fish shop!

Came in and was immediately greeted at the door by an employee who asked how I was doing and if I needed any help. Staff was VERY helpful, knowledgeable, and attentive. Ended up getting 2 nice coral frags and a cute blenny. I would highly recommend this store for any reef essentials. Fish and livestock were healthy and prices were very fair! Will definitely be back.

The new store is lovely. All the tanks are spotless, fish fresh/salt all looked healthy and didnt see a single dead one.The coral selection was awesome and everything looks great.

I got friends who have aquarium and told me a lot about them. I was hopeful when i walked into this place to get one. Ive wanted one for awhile now. So i looked online and saw Nemo’s so i drove 50 minutes there. I walked in and started to look around. Questions started to form in my head. I really wanted to talk to someone but didn’t want to be rude so I waited on someone to approach me. After 15 minutes one of the staff asked if he could help. In the middle of our conversation he told me to hold on that he had to help someone else. Ive been there for awhile now and that started to upset me. I kept waiting but one else would approch me. 10 minutes later he came back and as we started talking again other people started to come up to us and asking questions. He would answer them and i started to get even more upset. I started to feel everyone else was more important because they where getting what they wanted and I wasn’t. I drove 50 minutes and wanted a total of 25 minutes and was to getting really impatience and frustrated. He walk off to show someone where something is and at that point I had enough and left. I was very disappointed. I will never go there again. I believe first impressions are everything. I have read the reviews and understand how other feel too with similar complaints. I will look other places but Im believing this is a precursor of whats to come. If Im having this kind of problems now what it would be like to do business with them or even to get an aquarium bc they are a lot of work and how i wouldn’t get what I wanted or would have to fight for it and I’m not interested in that. Hope this helps everyone who read these review. I would appreciate who manage the reviews to not reply saying anything like. “Im sorry you had this experience here we’ll do what we can to make it right” because it insulting to say that after the fact. Awesome fish and coral and great assortment of supplies. Chris has the experience and a gift for this hobby that is rarely if ever seen. I have four reef and one fw planted tanks that reward me with their challenges and beauty, but to see so many different coral at Nemos do so well, is staggering and mindblowing.

Love this place! The guys there are so hopeful and laid-back. As a novice, I ask a lot of questions. The past few times weve been Jay has helped us and weve always left happy and confident with our purchases.

They helped me set up my saltwater aquarium and are knowledgeable. They really care about the fish and wont recommend you just anything to make a dollar, they want you to have a successful tank. I highly recommend anyone to them... my take is beautiful.

The staff at Nemos Reef are knowledgeable and attentive.The fish are healthy and happy.I have been a customer since they were in the Monroe Road location many years ago and have followed them each time they expanded their store. This is the best fish store in Charlotte. You may even meet Nemo the owners dog.

A very helpful staff and great supply resource. Various and diverse fish selections which vary frequently. Pricing is a bit high but that’s part of being an aquarist I suppose. We tend to get all of our aquarium supplies and inhabitants from Nemos. :-)

Friendly customer service, lots of selection, only downside is their strict 2 day fish replacement guarantee. I was just one day over and they would not allow replacement of my dead fish.

Been going here for about 2 months and have had no issues. All livestock were feeding within hours of being introduced to my tank and so far have never had any unwanted pests. Facility is beautiful and clean.

The best fish store! Beautiful on the inside, and wonderful customer service. They helped us fix an issue with our reef tank, as we found that it was a water issue from where we were previously buying RO water from. On top of that we just bought our new bigger tank and they loaded it up in our truck with no issues.

One of my favorite local fish stores around. Highly professional. Very knowledgeable. Their new shop is absolutely incredible. They have an amazing selection of corals, all sorts of livestock (both marine and freshwater), and have enough supplies and tools for any hobbyists wildest dream. Top notch guys and gals. Way to go!

I dont think Ive ever been to a store where Ive constantly gotten great service, advice and always informative. This is definitely the first place. And they saved me money recently because Ive had a red hair algae problem and sites only say upgrade lighting, use this and that chemical and so forth but guy in store ask how long I keep lights on and I said its automatic and timer is about 12 to 14 hours and he said cut it to 8 to 10 hours and 2 days later there is no sign that red hair algae was even in the tank. And believe me 80% of sand bed and about 40% of rock was covered in it. Sometimes I dont even need anything but come there to support them even if its buying a couple a snails. They also support the military which should be a Six Star.

Great Prices for healthy fish. I purchased a FoxFace Rabbit Fish a couple of weeks ago and she is beautiful !! the vibrant yellow and the meaty size you can tell she was very taken care of in the store. I’ve hadn’t had this kind of luck with any other saltwater fish stores in Charlotte, so I will definitely and only return to Nemo’s Reef from now on.

If your looking for freshwater fish/shrimp or freshwater plants, look elsewhere. Prices are above the roughly 20% higher here than anywhere else in Charlotte for certain freshwater things. Freshwater plants are starved of something because they look terrible and their selection is 90% swords/crypts. Dead fish in aquariums, terrible customer service and overpriced fish. There are better fish stores in Charlotte.

This place does not know what customer service mean. I was there for 20 minutes and nobody even had the audacity to say “how can I help you?” I literally just left his place and I will never go back. They missed out, because I just bought a saltwater fish tank and they would’ve done a lot of business with me.

IF you want them to come clean your aquarium they will do a good job IF AND WHEN THEY DECIDE AT THEIR CONVENIENCE TO SHOW UP ON THEIR SCHEDULE NOT YOURS. They let our fish DIE and DIDNT CAREWatch out for the mess they leave around the rest of your house aquarium area is spotless.One of the guys left puddles of water downstairs on our hardwood floors one week. Same guy then the next service left wet spots (left side one step right side next step) on every step going to the second floor using 5 gallons buckets to carry water to my wifes aquarium.Great store and service WHILE YOUR IN THE STORE. Kevins son is GREAT, knowledgeable, respectful, courteous and a real people person.Prices are very reasonable and plenty of fish and aquarium products.We like shopping IN THE STORE.

I really enjoyed my visit earlier this week. The store is well arranged and the staff members are very helpful. If you are in the area do yourself a favor and stop by. The store is over an hour from my home. However I don’t mind traveling the distance to the store.

Not only is the staff very helpful and friendly, it is the cleanest saltwater store in the Charlotte area. There is always a nice selection of saltwater and freshwater creatures at this store.

Best LFS in the area! They do a great job of keeping salinity low which keeps parasites at a minimum.

I began my salt water reef tank experience in July and have enjoyed learning from this experienced staff at Nemos Reef. They have been there to offer their knowledge at every turn from recommendations on which fish to begin with and when to add, to the proper corals to water treatment and necessary accessories. Thanks to all of the staff who have had a part in my experience.

This place is amazing. The variety of Corals they have is great and they have many price ranges from very affordable to the exclusives. I come here often sometimes just to browse they have taught me alot and I will be starting my own aquarium soon. And this will be where I get my start and this is where I plan on staying. they also have many varieties of fish, shrimp, salt water, tanks, lights and everything else you may need.

Went to Nemos today to pick up some fish for my first salt water tank. We went in 20 minutes before closing so we didnt expect the employees to love us, but much to my surprise they were AMAZING! I had absolutely no idea what I was looking for or needed but the associate that helped me (I wish I remembered his name) was beyond helpful and pleasant to work with. He got us in an out in 10 minutes, but never made us feel rushed. He listened to me ramble on about my dad and his tanks, and showed just as much interest as me. The selection of fish was great, looked healthy, and the store was very clean and well kept. I spent $30 and got 2 fish, 2 super cool snails, and some live rock so Id say the prices are great. They invited us back for our next visit and Im excited for it! This will forever be my go to store.

Nemos Reef is definitely the best fish store in the area! I now live 3+ hours away, but it is still my favorite store to go to for all of my salt water aquarium needs. I have been getting my stuff from them for years, and I cant imagine going anywhere else. All of their employees are extremely knowledgeable and more than willing to help and answer questions. Not to mention, everything they sell is great quality at a fair price.

Thank you for being patient and listening to customers and helping them out. I would highly recommend for anyone. The team there only advises on what you need rather than trying to sell stuff, has happened to me a couple of times where they advised me that I dont require few things for my setup.

Nemo’s is a great place to buy corals, fish, inverts, fish food, and pretty much anything a true reefer could want in this hobby! And if they don’t have chances are they can get it! Everybody in the store are always friendly and willing to give advice or answer any questions! My favorite thing is how clean and well taking care of all the tanks in the store are!
