Brings about a form of nostalgia from skating decades ago. Staff are super hospitable and nice - even teenaged staff! Theyre amazing - checking diligently on kids who fell! I will be back. Thanks B&D for the great time and exercise!

I have went to B&D for over 30 years!! I would highly recommend going here. The floor can feel a bit small if you really open up your speed, but its a family place not a race track!

This cute little skating rink is a hole-in-the-wall hidden gem. Family wholesome fun at a fair cost. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. When a kid or adult drops a staff member will rush to check on them and help them back on their feet, or out of the rink if thats what they desire, or will call for help is need be. They also host fundraisers. You can rent for parties, or private practices. Roller Derby teams practice there, fun and intense to watch.

Fun place with decent pricing. Never fails to smell like weed outside for some reason. I remember coming here for my elementary school skate nights. Those were always a blast.

I grew up going to this rink but its been quite a while since Ive gone. I took my kids tonight and I was not impressed with some of the new staff. The owner and Johnny was an amazing team. Im not sure where Johnny was tonight but the man in his place was not pleasant. Totally ruined my expectations. At least the music was good.

DO NOT RECOMMEND!Terrible experience for my wife, myself and two children. If you have children, DO NOT come here.Staff was not attentive or helpful.Some skaters were rude and dangerous. Also, there were many small children skating completely unsupervised. No rink safety official skating (for most of the time.)After a few occurrences, I asked a young teen to please not skate so fast by my 2 year old who was at my side. He started arguing with me. His parents were nowhere to be found. Our family left after 15 minutes of the teen eliciting a fight, and endangering my children. My wife saw this teen cause other small children to fall by skating closely and quickly in front of them.When I sat to change into my shoes and leave the teen continued to taunt me with name calling and getting in my face.NOT a good experience!

I went skating with my family, Saturday August 1st, during the 2-4 open skate. I tried to purchase drinks but discovered multiple roaches crawling on the back counter by the nacho machine. Usually this place clean and enjoyable, but the roaches did me in. I will not be returning until the problem is taken care of.

Tuesday night was supposed to be a fun night with my kids skating but instead we left early. The bald older guy at front counter had a serious attitude then my kids were trying to skate and bigger kids were pretty much running them over and the floor guard did nothing.we lefty 40 min in.

Disappointed! Our kids went to the rink for the first time and they had a altercation with other kids. Our kids was told to leave so I went up there to find out what happened. I talked to a gentleman who said his name was Dave and he was the owner. Be knew the other kids and let them stay but our kids had to go home. Unfair treatment and all kids should have had to leave.We will not be back.

We like that this place is here. Their rink is great, their prices are good, but they need upgrades. However, I’m taking off one star for the rough condition of their tables, benches, and bathrooms and one stair for cleanliness because it REALLY NEEDS a thorough deep cleaning combined with regular upkeep.

We had a private party and I was very disappointed as the kids werent interested in the music he was playing and he was rude when they asked to request some songs. Then he stood up by our tables most the time just staring at us and it made us feel uncomfortable.

We had a party last Saturday and the skates that come with the party didnt fit. I talked to the bald man behind the counter who said thats what you ordered and walked away. I was shocked by his response but there was a guy with a walker that said he would check for a bigger size. He said he didnt have any and then showed us a magazine and let us pick what we wanted and said he would order them. This man knows about customer service, the other guy should take notes.

Unhappy. We went skating Friday Sep 4th we spent $34.00 to get in we was only there about 15 minutes our child was to scared to skate so we tried to get our money back and the guy just threw a couple of free passes down and walked away. Poor customer service!

Over all, not too bad. But the place definitely could use a good cleaning for sure as it has a weird odor. The owner seemed annoyed and the wood was not that great but ok. I had heard so much about this place so I had to check it out.

B&D is so awesome. Ive been coming here since I was a child. Honestly, I havent been in a while. Still the same Vibe good music couple skate limbo the speed skate. The lights. Its awesome wood floor. They even have rollerblades you can get. Or you can get the regular skates. Got hot dogs and nachos and they were delicious I dont remember what I paid. It didnt matter. I was having a good time. The rollerblades were $3 more than the regular skates. I do remember that.

The staff was super nice! My boyfriend fell on me and they came and checked on us and helped walk him to the edge. Had lots of fun!

B&D South is a place from my childhood!!! My kids LOVE going their!!! The employees are always nice and dont mind helping the little ones with any issue that arises!!! They have updated and remodeled a bit since my days of Wednesday night and Friday night skating!!! Their birthday packages are still AMAZING and they are very helpful when it comes to planning a party!!!!

This was my 2nd party here last weekend and once again it was a success!!.staff very nice and accommodating. Some of my guests was not aware of the location and now are planning to book GREAT JOB U GUYS!! TY SO MUCH WE HAD A BLAST!!

Skating was fun the pizza was hard the chips were stale on the nachos half of the arcade machines did not work of were not plugged in although skating was pretty fun

This Saturday we had my daughter Sweet Sixteen at the Rink. I can truly say we enjoyed our time there. My daughter had quite a few friends and family show up and they all seem to have a wonderful time. The best part was she came up with her own playlist that was played through out the party. The owner ask my husband could he kept the list because he enjoyed it so much. My daughter friends and our family said they had a great time. My daughter said this was her best birthday party ever. Thank you, B and D Skating Rink.

The place has a real nice skating floor. The rest of the place has a stinky smell about it. I think it could use a good cleaning.

This is in response to your reply. I did change from a 1 to 3 because the experience was average but not terrible. We dont skate often and had a party at a local competitor last year and we were much more impressed with that one. I hope you all improve because skating places are fun for kids.Things that would improve the experience:1) Both skates we were given had knots and they both had no tongue. Its frustrating trying to tie skates without tongues. Please replace shoe laces as need be.2) The teenager working was on his phone the entire time. We felt like we bothered him when we asked for our skates. Customer service is important.3) Charing $2 for a walker is your choice but other rinks dont. If you are charging and there are that many kids, it might be a good idea to get more walkers. I saw many little ones disappointed because all the walkers were taken.4) Allowing someone to pay for the non birthday kid when the party is for 60 people feels a little wrong but I did offer to pay because I didnt want to hurt the birthday parties numbers.

Decent size skating rink and they play good music

Love this place Everytime I come its all amazing time. My daughter has had her birthday there for the last couple years. Everytime a great time and phone the staff. Duffy is awesome!!

The skate rink is a fun to take children. The building and interior could use a little updating, but nothing big. It was just like the skating rinks when I was younger. You are welcome to bring your own skates, too. You can rent rollerblades, if you want. Nice bit of nostalgia.

My kids had a really good time

Had my first graders party here. Not enough skates for the smaller children. Not enough walkers for the party. Ended up leaving before party was over since not all kids could participate. Would not recommend this place. They should have been prepared for us or told me they couldnt accommodate ahead of time.

Good I just dont like the wood floors

Nice skate rink. The only complaint I have is the lack of hours they are open. Since they are only open a few hours everybody comes and it is too crowded. Not much room to skate.

Duffy has been there since I was a little girl. I remember him as scary but really he’s a gentleman ( he did have to watch over all us kids/teenagers) then when I had children. I took them. I went with them but I always knew we would be safe with Duffy around. He’s like a dad. Now I’m 42 years old and try to go on Sundays when I’m free. Where can you go have fun and exercise for two hours for .50 if you own your own skates. Plus they got a new floor. Blessed

I used to go here every Tuesday and I love it so much! The only reason I stopped going is because I got busy but I still go when I can. The staff is friendly and its a great place to learn how to skate. They have coupons and schedules on their website.

My granddaughters 8th birthday party took place here. I have to admit if I was the type to judge a book by its cover I would have left. Surprise, the staff and management truly embodied customer service. We were attended to immediately and with kindness. The concession prices were great. The rink was child friendly. They even carried devices that enabled small, inexperienced skaters to enjoy their visit. The music was diverse and so was the clientele.I admit the amenities could benefit from a moderate calibration but it would certainly cause an increase in prices!

It was awesome. I feel down a few times and the workers are supposed to check on you when they see you but they would look over laugh and not check on me. Otherwise it is really fun and a great place to meet up with friends.

Great place for parents and adults very cheap on Tuesday and sundays I go all the time I know all the refs owners are very chill somtimes slow but they cool snack bar very fun for kids to lose off some energy

Kids had a great time but the people that run it needs to be a little more nicer and patient. The owners just seemed a little rude and like you was just a bother.

This place had a good skating floor but the skates were falling apart the men’s bathroom smelt like bad odor me and my friends felt threatened because we are Hispanic and the gave us a weird stare when we came by a referee followed us I didn’t feel comfortable they played the same song 3 times in a row I do not recommend this place to anyone

We had a last minute party of 19 and Dave was extremely helpful and friendly. Everything was great. We will definitely be going back alot!!!

Same as it ever was. You might bring your own personal fan if you got it. The atmosphere gets a little humid considering theres over a hundred people all skating at once.

Had my sons birthday party here this year, wasnt too crazy. He and his friends had a great time. The price wasnt too bad, they just need to be a little more organized, oh, and also, not book ad many parties at the same time. Made it a little crowded.

Roller hockey here is pretty great. Fun group of guys of varying skill levels who all just want to play. Win or lose nobody cares. They hardly keep track. Cant beat the $6 price for two hours of hockey. And the skating floor is fantastic.

I like it its cool

The staff isnt horrible but also not friendly, the place smells and is dirty. You pay 8.00 for inline skates on a Saturday, you pay 6.00 for normal skates on Saturday. On Friday the prices are higher. I know there are better places to go. Also the inline skate give you horrible blisters and hurt for 3 or 4 days.

Kids really like it here, Im not much of a skater but the atmosphere and music really give you the confidence. They have tools for younger children to use when skating as well my 5 year old loves it.

Wife and kids love it. Been there forever and the most part always a good time. Think staff could be more mature at times since they are dealing pre teen issues but kids act different out in public than at home.

I was born in Independence in the 70s, Ive attended many school functions at this wonderful place, both in my own life, and in my childrens lives. Now Im looking forward to taking my grand-kids as they get a little older. So glad to see the renovations after the storm damage. Im sure, that like me, there are many others with such fond memories, looking forward to sharing them with their next generation.

After their most recent remodel they are a great place to go for Birthdays and are really friendly. Although the Game machines are a little out of date but that is not what you go for. It is a Clean and Warm place and would definitely recommend others go to.
