I got there early morning, the GPS took me to a gate that was not the right one. ...a poster hanging on the gate, put me on the road again for 1/4 more mile, straight to the parking lot at Crew Cypress Dome Trailhead.... Trails are designed by colors, ... Yellow, Green, White and red, all connected continued. Many blue sign in between (shortcut) in case you change mind and want to go back... Wild flowers all kinds along the trail, birds and deer... I was interested in the Caracara Prairie Preserve ( Red Trail) but I missed this time. I made the mistake to walk yellow, green first, was tired when got the red one. Didnt finished watching the prairie... I will be back to start for the red trailAll trails comfortable to all ages, shaded mostly, wide and visibility through the bushes , many people in the trail, sound good to me

First time going. I was hoping to see sandhill cranes, but had to settle for kids, hawks, and cows. Not complaining! It is a bit of a hike to get to this place. You have to park at CREW Cypress Dome trailhead and start the green loop. It eventually connects with the entrance of the Preserve. There are cow pastures, so make sure you watch your step! Most trails were surprisingly shady, which was very nice. Some were more open, but that allowed for better view of flying kites. There are benches throughout for breaks, but no bathrooms. No issues with mosquitoes during a cool February morning, but might be different at other times. The trail was dry, but there were muddy portions that likely become flooded during rainy season.

Probably one of the best inland trails in Southwest Florida. Lots to see and fairly scenic. There’s a lot of random paths just off the trails that you could potentially explore - I’m sure there are some hidden gems to find.Expect to see a lot of cows up close. You may very well come within feet of resting and grazing cows. They’re everywhere back here, including in the woods. There are a fair amount of birds as well and they often accompany the cows. The western part of the loop is largely shaded. The eastern part is mostly sunny. Bring sun protection or go later in the day when the sun is less intense and the trees will offer some shade from the setting sun. Or consider doing the western part twice.During dry season the trails are definitely dry. I could see select areas becoming moist after heavy, repeated rainfall. But I think you could find a way around without having to deal with excessive mud.

Really cool trails that whind through prairies and pine flatlands. These are good trails for bird watching. Theres lots of open lands to venture off the beaten path and explore and its easy to get back to the trails as red markers line the perimeter of the trail making it easy to stay on course or get back on.

A great place for hiking and geocaching (finding hidden containers with the aid of a GPS) as there are dozens in the area among the trees here. Even with the wet weather here lately the trails were easily passable and the cows were fun to see almost everywhere.
