Washington DC is a rich resource for galleries and museums, and the Vanadu Art House is a gem which is well worth the detour into the suburbs to explore.Clarke Bedford, the father of the exhibition, is a museum curator who found himself with time on his hands, and over time he has accumulated a collection which is unlike anything you are likely to see anywhere in the world.The curio is situated in a quiet neighborhood and you will need a car to get there. the artefacts take as much space as a small front yard so dont go there expecting a sprawling Smithsonian exhibition! It is well worth the stop.

Artist Clarke Bedford has given a second life to unexpected items to create a fantasy garden, home and vehicles. Located on a quiet suburban street, it never fails to bring a smile to my face and encourage a visit to the wild inner parts of my self. Park your car on the street and stroll over to examine an extraordinary collection of found art pieces lovingly created and placed all over the yard and house. Truly worth a visit.

I have been coming here to photograph the cars for almost a year and I will always love it. The cars each have their own personality that is shown in their assemblages, and I have come to feel a close connection to them. I first heard of them when I saw each of the station wagons once or twice at age 4 or 5, and since then I tried to figure out where they were and eventually I came over to start photographing. I am almost certain that my interest in old cars stemmed from those sightings as a child. If I could rate this place at a million stars, I would.

Amazing. I love everything about the creativity of it all. Every time someone visits me from out of town I bring them here and they love it.

This place is fantastic the owner Mr Clark is a very creative man soon as you walk down Nicholson St. Located in Hyattsville MD right of of Queens Chapel Road you cant help but bust out and laugh the first time you see his cars you will be amazed by his art work so plan a trip soon and your family and friends are going to love whats in store.

A really interesting place to see! Take your time there to really look closely, especially at the cars. The artist is friendly and doesnt mind you going through the yard and around the back.

We pass it all the time, its a delight to see! Its a house in the neighborhood with a fantasy fence you wont believe less you see, with three art cars in the drive and parked nearby. I wasnt sure, but you are welcome to walk into the front yard and walk around the art cars too.
