This man-made lake and state park have always been a local favorite. It costs $15 to get in unless you have a season pass. There are 2 boating docks and restrooms and they maintain the facility quite well. Many camp/RV sites but almost always full. You can park on the highway above and walk down to several nice beaches as well, maybe about 2/3 block walk. Its a beautiful place!

Nice camping spot by the water. Swimming is allowed, but not by the boat launch area. Clean bathrooms with flush toilets. Outside pay shower available. There are also rentals for kayaks and jet skis but didnt check that out. Some nice trails close by for hiking or riding.

Quail lake is a very calm chill lake as its small and most speed boats stay away. If you like to kayak or paddleboard its definitely nice as its pretty much wake less in a lot of areas. You must get here early to find parking or park along the road and take a rocky way down if you plan on bringing stuff down.

This is one of the Best parks ive been to, an oasis is the only word to describe it, beautiful panorama with sandy beach area to soak in the water which by the way had the perfect temperature for the summer heat, fishing, kayaking, boating and swiming. BBQ on your own propane grill. No open fires or charcoal use during the time we were there as the Fire Danger was Very High. Camping area and RV is available but plan ahead because this place packs up on weekends and holidays. Watercraft rentals are also available and the bathrooms were clean with flush toilets, so no ditch pot and smelling others peoples happy.I highly recommend it here for camping and day use its worth it.

7/2020: We are from a CA beach city, but love going to lakes. We found this lake to be awesome for our young kids. Make sure to bring an umbrella, chairs, ice chest, sand toys, rafts. There is ample shore space and the water is warm, but not hot. Motorboats are allowed, but you see tons of paddle boards & kayaks. Super fun day!

Cool little camp site. Its small and only allow a certain amount of people in, so its perfect. The lake is so close to all the sites so you can walk there. The only cover there is a bench with a cover but other than that better take a ez-up

Favorite little hidden gem in St George. Very small and can get crowded with just a few boats but you can’t beat the views or the scenery. Always love boating here when we make a quick trip to southern Utah. If you are looking for a place to have fun and make some great memories look no further!

Great State Park just a few minutes from the 15. We stayed here just for the night while on our road trip as the campgrounds were cheap, maybe $20 and the lock the entrance gate at night and its nice and secure. I recommend booking in advance (we had arranged reservations) as it stated campground full as we pulled in. Its right off a beautiful lake and had a boat launch for watercraft. Beautiful views all around and so glad we had discovered this place. Dry camping only, but water is available at various locations.Looks like most of the sites are pull through sites (or at least ours was) and each spot had these cool shaded picnic tables.

On the weekends its popping with a lot of awesome people!

Well kept campground fairly close to us Las Vegas residents. This trip the water level was low, but still a good time. No showers, but clean flush toilets. Also no open fires statewide, but seriously I cant imagine a major fire starting from this desert campground. Its ok we brought a propane campfire and it replicated a normal fire pretty well. It was a good 2 night trip.*****beware of the ground squirrels, they will eat any food left unattended, keep food locked up!*****

We loved camping here. Our campsite (#8) had a small tent pad, but that was ok because we had a small tent. It would have been an issue with a larger one, so make sure you get a bigger site if needed. The fishing was fun and with a bit of walking we were able to find some shoreline that we had to ourselves. The water was clear and good for swimming too. The restrooms were great (no showers) and the staff was very nice.

Smaller lake for leisure activities. Beaches are more rocky than sandy, and if there are more than 5 boats on the water it easily gets to choppy to ski. There are also RV camp sites, as well as paddle board and kayak rentals.

I havent had this much fun in such a long time! I could go on and on and on about why you should come here. The price is amazing!!! I feel like I was able to get a quality paddleboard for a quality price. Rented a random for 4 hours and it was only 60! So great! And the staff was AMAZING! seriously I dont go many places where the staff goes out of their way to be that kind. Every one of those employees had the biggest smiles, the happiest laughs and demeanor, and the best service. I was quickly helped, explained things multiple times in the ki dest way. And really felt like they interacted with me like they were my friend. I didnt expect that. I thought I would get my paddleboard and go like every other lake, but this was different. Theyre doing something special here. Between the service and the price, Ill be back time and time again. The lake was also the perfect size! Good for boating and wave runners, but also there was enough little cove areas for paddleboarding. The beaches were really nice and they have built in cornhole and horse shoes game areas. Sandy and nice! The water is a good mix of cool and warm, so its a delight to be in, especially in the heat of southern utah. Id recommend this for old and young, a solo trip, friend trip, family outing, everything! Ill be going back so many times. Also the beaches are clean. and the water is clear. I had trouble finding trash cans so when you come bring bags to put your trash in, but other than that it is wonderful!

I want to tell everyone to come to this park if you want a quiet calm and spacious spot. We drove to this one first thought it was a bit small so we drove over to the other bigger one down the road and drove right back! It’s beach area maybe a bit more limited but it was a beautiful and quite setting. Totally recommend! The entrance gate let us drive around and pick from the available spots. It’s so nice to be able to pick instead of assigned. I really appreciate that!

The rentals hut needs to be a little more clear about what’s going on. At shift change everything gets really disorganized. My experience was really negative. We rented a balance board and one paddle for all day use. They were really quick to charge and we gave an ID to them to hold. We were not at that time explained any further procedure besides at the end of your day return the items and get your ID back. So when it came that time to get the ID back no one at the beach helped for a while we finally tracked someone down with a radio walkie-talkie to help us. She took our board and didn’t say anything else. So my spouse went to the hut and get her ID. Well she wasn’t doing her job and no one mentioned we needed to get our ticket back as well. So when my spouse tried to they took the paddle and turned her away.Confused she came back to me and we both went up to try again. There the lady working told us what needed to happen but none of the other employees had said anything remotely close to what she was telling us. Well after what feels like a battle we got her ID back. All I’m saying is train all your people to speck up and if you have A certain procedure that needs to be followed make sure it gets followed by everyone working. I as a customer did not neglect to bend the rules or make up my own. I was simply not explained things the way they should’ve been. So then to keep saying we neglected to do so is not cool. I don’t work there I just wanted my wife’s ID back so please don’t make it seem like I’m stupid and don’t know what’s going on. Other people if this has happened to you as well don’t stay quiet. This is why we leave reviews positive when good and negative when bad.

Not crowded at all! Beautiful and relaxing. Got there on a Saturday morning at about 8:30am and there was plenty of space to set up and relax for the day. Went back the following day (Sunday) at 9am and had the same results. If you get there after 10:30am you may not get into the park due to capacity so just keep that in mind when you head out there. Oh and take water shoes, those rocks hurt lol Unless you have tough feet

I grew up going to Quail because of the scenery and peace and quiet compare to the other lakes in the St. George area. The lake is fed by a small stream on the north end of the lake that offers a tree-covered cove perfect for swimming and not worrying about boats or jet skis driving near you or little ones. They also have camping for tents, rvs, etc, and paddle board/kayaking rentals.

The creek was very beautiful and peaceful you can enjoy your day there fishing or do a picnic. There is some shade and the weather is beautiful during this time of year. The creek is also very fresh and clean. The reason why I chose 3 stars was due to the service we got the person attending the both was a bit rude. The guy didnt want to give us the senior discount even though they had the discount on display. The same guy gave us number to rent a boat or kayaks but the number didnt work and said it was the only one. So we went to explore and saw a little business later on that was also renting kayaks so I dont know if he wasnt knowledgeable about other business or was just trying to promote one certain business. But regardless of all that its a good place to visit but you should look into businesses where you can rent boats, kayaks, jetskis or paddle boards before you go to this place that way u can enjoy it better and also there is an entrance fee which is about $15-20 depending if your out of state or not.

Such a great place to go boating and swimming. I love Quail and its my favorite lake around these parts. It has shade trees and is often not too crowded. The water is normally at a good temp. The beaches are a little rocky but not too bad and the good thing is there are a lot of crawdads under the rocks right near the shore. If you are in the mood to go fishing use worms and fish off the bottom. You should have some luck especially if you have a boat. Highly Recommend this lake, its wonderful to be out anytime of the year.

The staff at the front gate were very accommodating giving me one of the last remaining spots. The campground is clean and well taken care of however the closeness of the spots and lack of showers knock it down at least a star. Great place to take the family out and play in the water on those hot summer days. The sunsets are beautiful and this lake tends to be less busy than Sand Hollow. But if you have a couple boats going and some kayakers, it can get crowded quick. The easy access beaches are limited and the best beaches can be reached by boat or kayak on the east side of the lake. If you can catch the lake early and with very little people, its like a slice of heaven!
