Nice fun place for kids. Cool history. Brings back so many fun memories. Great stop before the beach.
The kids had a great time and didnt want to leave
Always a kid favorite whenever we go to nantasket beach.
Been going here ever since I was a kid and now bring my children. Always a favorite and most loved place to go in the summer!
Great spot to bring your family, if your children think the carousel is too tame there is a very nice arcade right next door, not to mention plenty of places to eat and you are right on the beach. The carousel is a classic but all horses so if you remember riding lions and tigers as a kid try not to be disappointed.
This place has great food but service is really slow
Took our granddaughter. What kid doesnt like a carousel. The beach is right across the street and the play set is right there too. Have an icecream and watch the ocean waves. Before you leave hit the arcade. After a couple of hours of running around the kids slept right through the night.
This carousel is amazing. When my family comes here we before we get ice cream on the beach front at Lucky Lemons. This place has a lot of memories.
1st rode the carousel 1962...65yrs old now..& its still a treat ! Love watching the newer gen. with kids having fun...It cost only $3 to ride...Can t do the horses , but the chariot can get you on...Glad the past ,is still with us...Nice for the family...try it !!!!
Brought me back to when my children were small
Great place for adults who want to reminisce about their childhood, remember Paragon Park and have an ice cream. Park in the lot across from Jakes for easy access.
I spent a few summers here as a kid. Great memories.
My family has been enjoying Nabtasket beach and Paragon Park like forever. Paragon Carousel is all thats left of Paragon Park so we cherish every fun time we go for a ride and no matter how old we get we still love it!!
So much fun!! And very cool to see the artist working on restoring the carousel!
The ride was lovely and LONG!! Of course we were on there alone and no one was waiting so maybe she just let us go longer? Not sure. Was a delightful classic experience and well priced!
Great place to bring kids, across from beach and historic place.
Nice quick stop for the beach, brings back memories. Short cash for rides, worth stopping if in area
My daughter loved it. Some of the horses need an update, but it also gives a sense of history since the carousel is 90+ years old. Very nice experience.
Great place to go with the family, walk the beach, go for a ride, get some ice cream. Plus its only $3 a ride!
This carousel is a lot of fun and my kids totally love it...it is a little worn down, peeling paint on some horses etc but definitely worth the $3 ride...
I love this old ride. Its like playing on history. The rides are very inexpensive and the architect is beautiful. If you are down at Nantasket beach, you have to stop by the carousel. Also, the glamorous restoration of some of the horses are just incredible.
I love this. It is old school, cheap, and something everyone should do. It represents the history of the South Shore, and also brings simplicity to entertainment. Every child should ride this when the manual music machine is running. A blast from the past!
Beautiful place and tasteful ice cream...
The staff were so nice and gave my mom the royal treatment for her birthday. It’s such a beautiful carousel. The kids loved it and we all enjoyed the ride!!
My little guy and I have been here twice this summer and we LOVE IT!!!!!!
Much fun for little kids and adults alike
Beautiful carousel located accross from the beach surrounded by little shops and restaurants.
Fun place to hang out, go on rides, do book signing, eat some good food, have ice cream and go across to the beach..
Excellent. I will back here again and again. Love it!!!!
Best carosel around, horses are looking great
So nice to see this restored. Great carousel. Beautiful spot. Very inexpensive, only $3 to ride. Cute gifts to buy too.
Lots of fun after a day at the beach. The organ is a little loud on the outside if your kids are sensitive to loud music. Quieter on the inside of the building
Been coming here since I was an infant always good place to take the kids..
After a major fire at Paragon Park in Hull, a new large, elaborate carousel, PTC #85, was installed in 1928.It was the 85th out of 89 carousels created by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, renowned maker of hand-carved carousels in the Philadelphia, or realistic, style. (Toboggan meant roller coaster) PTC #85 included two rare Roman Chariots, each pulled by two horses, carved by the Dentzel Company, founder of the Philadelphia style, and purchased when the last of the Dentzels died. Its scalloped canopy was one of the most beautiful ever constructed for carousel. The fabled Paragon Park with its sweeping roller coaster is long gone, but preservation efforts are underway to restore this grand carousel with its Wurlitzer Band Organ, Bell Tower, and 66 horses.
Its all fun fun fun memories of paragon park the only historic carousel in the world
Awesome place to go
We love historical, so we took a ride. Its a beautiful carousel.
What fun to have an old carousal still running from the olden days. Then there is a face painter there that clearly loves her passion painting faces young and less younger!
Never crowded, this is a sweet and inexpensive classic attraction for a little joy next to the beach on the public end and also near the beach-side playground and the arcade. There has been an effort toward full restoration, but the condition of the carousel is still wanting. I also wish the tea cup outside the carousel -- a remaining piece from Paragon Park, I think -- actually could spin when you turn the wheel. (I know there are town politics about management of resources, but I also know there are a lot of folks who treasure the carousel and the history it represents.) The carousel ride is worth the money, but unfortunately it runs long enough that kids smiles turn to mild panic and a look of when is this gonna stop? The folks running the carousel are not particularly friendly or enthusiastic with the children, but they do seem to believe the carousels presence in town is important. Worth a stop-by for a few minutes if you have little ones and have been spending a day on the beach or have older kids playing at the arcade.
Boyfriends favorite spot to remind him of childhood. Seeing him smile brings joy to my heart. Clean, nice staff and I cant wait til l can afford to purchase on to fix up in his name!!!!!
Awesome antique carousel
Definitely remember it as a kid will always remember it felt truly awesome when I was there
Its a good place for thriller rides.. Its fun.
Like this place for family fun
Work field trips.
Loved it all original
Very nice STAFF!
Love this carousel. Only thing left from Paragon Park.
Awesome carousel at the beach!!
The Carousel is beautiful. Do not eat the food. Ordered clam chowder it was curdelled absolutely disgusting. The only good thing us that they gave me my money back.
Cheap. Great views and a nice long ride. Very impressed at how well kept the horses are.
Fun for all ages
This place is not the same from when I was growing up.
Beautiful ️
I love to come back home to visit, its my happy place
I seriously considered doing my wedding here. Great place to take family, the ice cream is great and theres a wide variety.
Im glad this is still here to check out. Its kind of creepy looking but that makes it more awesome.
Ok...ended little faster than anticipated
Pretty cute place!
Pretty cool peice of local history
My grandkids and my daughter go down there to beach then we go to the carousel
Rude woman approaches my wife and I and tells us we can take pictures on the carrousel for $100.00. We just got married 10 minutes prior to this on the beach, and this woman was looking to cash in when she seen we had a friend taking pictures for us. She went out of her way to be rude to us, saying we cant even take pictures of the grass in front of the carrousel. The weird thing was that we were just walking by and werent even planning on walking into the carrousel. I felt compelled to write this review based on the attitude the owner gave us that day. Greedy greedy.
The lady who paints faces was excellent with small children.
So much fun to bring the grandkids, good for memories too!
