What a beautiful place for a family outing. The day we were there the fall foliage was beautiful. And of course the animals were out...horses...pigs...cows... donkeys. Children love to see the workings of a real farm. You can also pack a picnic and eat by the lake across the street from the farm.

Awesome stop while in the Dayton area. They have an old farm there that they are maintaining. Neat to see the buildings. Saw 5 beautiful white horses on the farm. Also have a pretty nice size lake. Seen several people fishing it. Unfortunately the visitors center wasnt open. Also, several people there taking pictures.

This is a fairly large park with many things to do. I like the visitors center for understanding the history of the farm and area. The little store inside is nice and the kids really like the candy selection. The old farm house and barn are fun to visit. The animals really add to the experience. Sometimes the blacksmith shop is open and operating. Special events are always good as costumed volunteers tell about the farm. The Cedar Lake area is always popular for fishing. It has a lot of wildlife.

Carriage Hill is a great place to explore, especially in the time of Covid. It is an 1880s farm with animals you can pet, streams to travel, and trails to hike. It is so nice to go somewhere and not have to wear a mask since you are outside and there is so much space between groups.

This is a nice farm to go to. Lots of horses and some farm animals along with nice trails and a small country store here. They offer horse rides for $30 a person. Last time I was here I was about 5 or 6 years old. Its been many years since I was here. Some things has changed but still a nice experience going here. I will be visiting a bit more now that the weather is very nice.

We went fishing and disappointed that most of the main Lake has algae and green moss near most of shoreline. Cant cast and not reel in without having to clean your lure each time. Would be nice if some of the trash trees and growth on some some banks could be cleared and make more fishing options available. I realize it goes against the fabric of the Park but more user friendly. We found trying to fish the North Pond near impossible again due to the trees and green funk.

I love Carriage Hill. I’ve come here since I was a little, and nothing has changed (which I find so unique). It’s amazing to be able to walk through a place that’s frozen in history. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and there’s a variety of animals that you can get up close to and pet. There’s even an old fashioned penny candy store, which is the perfect treat to round out the trip. There’s a fun play area for kids set up as an old school house as well as a tiny kitchen to play in. Definitely spent hours of my life playing there! We even saw a baby bird in it’s nest in one of the outdoor house porches. Unique experiences to be had here!

Great place to take the kids to learn how people lived in the USA years ago... see work horses, pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens, also take in the black smith shop, wood shop, and farm house... which includes the spring house and pie oven for outside summer baking... along with sewing demonstrations and canned foods... its a great look at the way things used to be... go across the street and take in the hiking trails along with the ponds one in front and one off the trails in the back acreage... bring your fishing pole also if you into that kind of thing...

There are a bunch of buildings showing farm life back in yesteryear. The donkey, sheep, pigs, and horses were also fun to see. Its great because its free and not overly huge so you can go for an hour and feel like youve stepped back in time. There are hiking and horse paths all around but we didnt go over those today. Be aware the general store is only open Saturdays and Sundays.

This morning, The Clark Family went to hike Carriage Hill MetroPark in Huber Heights... It was the perfect day to do it too!️This is officially the 12th Park / Reserve that #TeamClark has hiked in the last 13 weeks! There were a ton of people fishing the big pond they have at the park... Unfortunately, we were a little too early to take advantage of the candy shop they have at the visitors center... ️The Clark Family Goal is to hike a different reserve or park in OHIO every weekend until winter!!#FamilyFirst #DaytonStrong #CarriageHillMetroPark #TeamClark

I cannot say enough good things about this working 1800’s farm!! My grandma and my aunt used to take my sister and I, plus all of our cousins to carriage hill at least once a week when it was weather permitting. They have since added new and improved buildings to the farm, but the old town charm/feel is still there and pleasant as ever. The penny candy store is the only one I know of around here, and if you go on the weekends all of the animals will be out. Along with a working blacksmith, woodworker, farm house, a couple barns, and horse/hayrides. They also have events from time to time throughout the year. Usually with the switching of seasons, and holidays. I’ve been being my boys here since they were born, so that would be 17 years. Soon we’ll have a new addition to the family, and I plan to carry on this little tradition for as long as I can. Hoping one day my boys will be bringing their children to the farm.

If i could give this place 0 stars i would. I Went to carriage hill today to see some animals and was horrified when i got there at the conditions the animals were in ! First thing i see when i was in is sheep and a donkey COVERED in flies and mud looked like they havent been groomed or been taken care of in years. I look closer to see a sheep with a severe open wound on its side looked like it got cut when they where trying to shave it. It was horrible i felt so bad for that sheep the gash was over half a foot long and looked infected. The other animals there werent in good shape either they all looked diseased, were extremely dirty , walking in mud and poop , just awful. I was really upset about the whole experience and felt bad for the animals i will be contacting someone about it.

I could walk around the park all day! they have some many trails and hidden features all around the park. I used to fish here quite a bit and it is a wonderful spot for kids to get into fishing! plenty of bluegills and bass loaded up inside the first big pond but there is also one a bit further back if you want to adventure a bit!

You guys clearly dont know how to take care of the animals. You got a pig out there with multiple cuts on the ears!!! And was in serious distress! It was not acting normal at ALL. I mean there were flies in the cuts. It will soon have an infection if you dont take care of it right away. Im so ashamed. Will be calling someone about this situation. Learn how to take care of the animals. Someone should be out there to check on them and stuff. If you are going to have these animals fenced in, then you seriously gotta take care of them!

Even though we went on a weekday we still got to walk around see the pony ride area I had no idea you could ride horses, see farm animals, big pond that you do not need lisence to fish and old store has bait and anything else you may need while at carriage hill. Very helpful and friendly lady at the Old country store that has also trinkets and toys, jams, jewelry ect made all by local craftsman (which I love) and cant wait to go on a weekend trip to see the big farmhouse and tons outbuildings come to life showing what living in 19th century was all about
