Really fun place!!! Amazing decor, good drink specials with friendly bartenders. Great dance floor for two stepping and a good karaoke space if thats your thing. The jewel of this place is the outdoor spaces, those patios are fantastic! Filled with lush plants & pretty lights, its a wonderful place to chill & chat. There was a good mix of young & old, different races, everyone was welcome. Tejano night on Friday is apparently super popular!

I worked there for 2 years and loved it. The best mix of friendly patrons you can find in Houston! Sadly, the times they are open Im working home healthcare. I hope to get there soon, miss it mucho.

Its a good place to go dancing criticizes me is that bartenders work too slowly the longest time you want to spend fun waiting for a drink of 30 to 45 minutes I would like you to check that so that the waiting time is much less and especially for the drinks

I love everything about his bar, but what I love most is how much someone loves all these plants! What a magical patio. Indulge all your senses here.

Its been many years since Ive been to the Neon Boots Dancehall & Saloon. I had a fun time there dancing and drinking.

On Fridays, it is Latin night. It sure does attract a good crowd. We had lots of fun. The music was good. The drinks were great. Everyone is friendly. There is plenty of room to park. For smokers there is a designated area conveniently outside.

Friday Latino night is awesome. Lots of good music, handsome men, and fun.Just wish they would figure out the right formula for the Saturday Country night though. The DJ is not that great. The line dancing gets annoying and it empties out pretty early because of it. Would love for it to feel like the Brazos River Bottom used to feel. The country music needs to classic or easy to dance to.

This place is a ton of fun. Everyone in there is accepting no matter what orientation you choose. My wife and I will definitely be back.

Love this place, but on 10/19 for the fantasy ball my husband and I both fell on the dance floor. I broke a bone in my foot and he sprang his wrist. We slipped on something wet on the dance floor. Should not allow drinks on the dance floor...

Fun spot! Had pool tables, could do better on their draft selection but understand that may not be a priority. The back porch area was fantastic and the highlight for me.

Its an interesting establishment that caters to all walks of life. Drinks are cheap and good times are almost free of charge. They have a separate karaoke bar inside if thats your style.

I loved this bar. I happened to stop by here on a Friday evening and the night turned out amazing. Fun ENVIRONMENT. The DJ is awesome. They play everything here and all kinds of music! Good drinks as well

One of the best spots in town... I was there with some friends unfortunately we got there closer to 1pm . Liquor stops selling at 2pm I get it but as I was standing in line behind this big group (1:45am) I was counting down the minutes for last call. The bartender/Hispanic manager was closing like 8/10 checks. I tried getting his attention to try to get my last drink but he ignored me as he was holding up credit cards and asking for names.. word of advice.. get to your customers who are actually purchasing first... you can close out tabs towards the end. Hes the only reason I didnt give a 5start. We couldve finish our last drink by 2pm.. Everything else was awesome. That guy needs to work on servuce!!

Its a great venue for almost any party you may want to have.

Tonight was my first night going there and if I’m going to be honest about it staff was great except for the manager Ms. Debbie and one of the male bartenders. The male bartender gave my card to the wrong person without double checking names in the Visa card. When I told him what happened he got upset with me and told me I was wrong. He let me look thru the cards he had on tap to double check well my card wasn’t there. I asked for the manager and when I did she told me I was wrong because the color of my card and the person they gave my card to were the same COLOR. The guy behind the counter proceeded to tell me how I was wrong! Well the person they gave my card to wasted no time pulling money out of my account. After I realized that the money was gone the bartender told me there was no possible way that could’ve happened. I explained to him that I know exactly how debit cards work and he still continues to tell me I was wrong. I wouldn’t EVER recommend this place to anyone. EVER.

I really really really like this place. Its one of the only country dance bars you can go to that will actually play a variety of music that matches different dances (waltz, polka, two step, etc.). Also, most people know how to dance so the circle of dance is never impeded.This bar is a gay bar. That being said, I am straight and have NEVER felt out of place there. Super welcoming and friendly towards my wife and I.Be sure to check their online calendar for events. They do a lot of special events and sometimes you may show up to country dance to find out its drag show night.My favorite country dance bar in Houston.

Not a fancy place but fun. This is a gay country bar but is welcoming to everyone. Located on Hempstead Road close to the 290 610 area makes it fairly convenient. Located in what used to be the old Esquire Ballroom. In its heyday long long ago it was a live venue for many headlining country stars.

Why don’t they get more people in on Saturdays? Have drink discounts etc. Instead they charge a cover and there are only 30 people there all night. Seems like they don’t even want the business

Its a fun place to be when you are with gay friends coming from out of town. It has many decades of history behind, just looking at the photos. Neon Boots Dance Hall has country western dance lessons. I love the karaoke Friday.

I LOVE this place. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. This is known to be a gay bar but I know a lot of straight people who go there (including myself) just to take two step lessons have a good time. Fridays are latin dance and Thursdays and Saturdays are Country music and two stepping.

Arrive at 8:30 pm .. Nothing on website about a private event, wasted a cab ride out to be turned away, was told I could wait outside until 10 pmNot impressed!!!

Lots of room, decent, lots of cars no cover. Cowboy attire for sure but not needed. Definitely not country but ranchero Mexican music.

I have been going to Neon Boots since it opened its doors and I have had a wonderful time. I have recommended this club to my friends and family and I have yet to hear any negative feedback from them. The staff have always been more than great to all of us. Thanks to everyone at Neon Boots for making it a great and awesome place.

Wow! Attended an event put on by The Montrose Center. Was not expecting too much based on the exterior (which was fine, but underwhelming), but the interior space is well-utilized, well-furnished and the two bars and central dance floor make movement onto/off of the dance floor flow easily and intuitively.Terrific PA system and there was a terrific slideshow presentation that went smoothly and sparked some feels. Love this place! Cant wait till I need to come back again.

I am part of Living Mosaic Church and they have graciously hosted our Outreach Fundraiser for the last few years and we cannot think of any other place to have it held!!! The dance classes are fun that they put on before the actual place opens but Im not a big fan of country only go if my boyfriend wants me to go.

This is the one you must read. Always have reliable friends with you at this club if you have to see it! This is as low as it goes. Do not go alone if you just cant help but risk it. Underhanded sleaze from top to bottom. This is the worst of the worst. There is NO valid pride here. Do not believe the Yelp reviews, they filter out valid negative reviews. If you have LGBT pride do not patronize this club ever. I think most of the community knows the truth but this is for the ones who might be lured by the false praise. Trust me I know from experience that would disgust and blow your mind.One ex-manager reviewer said poorly run? dishonest? It goes way beyond that!!! What an understatement. He has posted positive and negative on Google and Yelp over the years, depending on the build up of negative reviews of Neon Boots. It is a serious systemic problem that cant be resolved by shuffling staff or review manipulations. Dont give them an inch. They will take long honed advantage and you will regret it. Oh yes they will pour it right down you before hand. Im a savvy man and I am not the only one who was stupid enough to go alone, have too many and gone through what I have in their set up and game.The fact that some have made it out safely is a relief to me but dont ever be fooled; much less be vulnerable without a trustworthy friend. This place and the people behind it need to go. For the naive reviewers, yes they seem nice to your face. They want to make money and they believe they can get away with what they do. Even new staff will be naive for a time. The ones that rule and the ones that have been around for years are conniving and covering nefarious cowards and unreformed criminals.* The reviewer who claimed to be an ex-manager removed his Google review. Yelp has recently reorganized what reviews are displayed. Dons have disappeared after being uninterrupted since the club opened. Many other negative reviews have been deleted. They claim its a software monitored outcome but look for the documentary coming out about Yelps practices with the reviews and businesses they list. Kudos to the attorney doing it.
