Foelber Pottery is truly fantastic! Before doing pottery classes here, I had very little interest in creating art... but after attending multiple classes of theirs, I can confidently say that I enjoy creating pottery way more than I every thought I could! John and Judy are the real deal- a MUST do in Houston!

Ive been a student at Foelber for the last 6+ years. This is a great place to learn pottery, with great teachers and full facilities for throwing and handbuilding, and gas reduction firing as well as Raku. The folks taking classes are a truly eclectic mix of interesting people, which keeps things interesting.This is real pottery, not paint a plate for grandma in the local strip center. Even the kids classes actually get them on the wheel. You *will* take a chunks of clay and turn them into functional vessels or pieces of art, or both, depending on your personal predilections.I think everyone needs an outlet for their creative juices, and having dabbled with cooking and gardening and carpentry, I can say that this is MUCH better.

If you an Asian, do not attend this class, he has a bad temper and will humiliated you, embarrassed you if you don’t know the right technique or don’t understand him, In my country we always learn to respect teachers or instructors even though we pay them. I’m a very shy person and usually keep quiet but my experience with this man (the owner of Foelber Pottery Gallery & Studios was awful). Last year my friend and I purchased for this class, the second lesson, I asked him for something that I don’t understand how to do it and he shouted at me and said “English is your second language? Don’t you understand? And…more awful thing he used toward me’’. My friend called him a Jerk and we had to leave early. “Doesn’t matter how great, talent you are, and you treat people like that, you’re nothing”. Sorry the truth always Hurt!
