Pretty park grounds with trails suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The surrounding forests are pretty, gentle and full of diversity and many trails to explore. I saw more animals at this national park than many in Colorado. A great trip especially for a young family with short attention span. Be sure to bring an insulated bottle to fill some water from the public fountains fed by the springs! It is hot but tastes amazing. I made tea several times ;)

This one is a completely different experience from all the national parks I have been too. This park is a nice little town surrounded by a lot of greenery. The hot springs run under the town and you’ll see multiple fountains and places where the water is steaming even in cold weather. There are water filing stations too. The town offers nice food places, bathhouse experience and a laid back weekend if you want to do that or you can do long trails. A very nice and peaceful town. Will definitely visit again.

Serene and beautiful with views of the town and of the green valleys and dusted rolling hills. Interesting to learn about the capped springs in the area, how they work and were created. Great hiking and trails to scour catch native wildlife and people. Drink fresh spring water from a dispenser at the entrance to the road to the observation tower after all the walking youll need the hydration. Comfortable clothes and shoes and leave it better than you found it because its a treasure. To add there are picnic tables up the road on the hill so grab a bite in town and drive or hike for a great meal in great environment. There is a lookout point near the observation tower as well.

This was the best hiking i have done. It is not for the faint of hearts. You will climb 1000 ft of elevation. The paths were pretty clearly marked. Please be careful if you decide to run as the leaves hide some rocks and roots in your path. I recommend shoes that help protect your ankles to be on the safe side. Expect ro be out there at least 2 hours if you really want to have an amazing experience. I also recommend reservations for the thermal baths right after your hike. That was so wonderful too!!

Awesome place to have family relaxing time. There are drive through route and walking trails. We did both and both were awesome. Must recommend to visit this place. Best place for fall colors. Note : since this park situated close to the downtown, finding a parking place will be tricky. You have to roam around and u probably get one on the roadside.

Beautiful national park. Very scenic if not spectacular. Many hiking trails although most are fairly short but quite hilly. The bathhouses are fascinating. There is only one you can actually take a mineral bath in and I believe thats concession-run and costs $. Its FREE to enter the park and park your vehicle. Fill up your water jugs downtown with hot mineral water at the public fountain. The hot water comes straight from the springs! You can see/experience most of this park in a day or two, but stay longer because there are lots of other attractions to enjoy in the Hot Springs area.

One of my favorite places in the world! I just love the walk though the downtown getting some water and visiting the natural springs and hiking around. Drink the cold springs water or make tea with the hot springs water directly. It tastes great and I hate spring water from the store, so that should say something. You also have to visit the Ron Coleman mine in hot springs village to mine all day! Wow! Great destination of a road trip! Great for kids!

Not sure how this is a national park. Visited this right after big bend national park and there is literally no comparison. The visitors center is located downtown (you need to get your map from there before you enter the park). Inside the park we found the best hiking trail with 4 parking spots. The main attraction though, is the observation deck (paid entry) which gives a view of Hot springs. When we went, there was a thick fog but what we could see was a view of a decrepit city from a rusted tower. The hot springs themselves are a paid attraction downtown where they fill bathtubs and pools with the water. They have no association with the park. This should be downgraded to at least a national historic site. I understand the historical significance but other than sentimental value there is no reason for it.

Great little town. Fantastic views when you head to the top. Enjoyable trails and a cool place to walk your dog. A great place to visit. Quaint downtown scene lined with beautiful bathehouses on one side and cafes and shops on the other. Main Street is enveloped with a backdrop of a beautiful line of trees coupled with a wonderful fun mountain drive with beautiful city overlooks. West Mountain also an additional opportunity to view the city from another site. City residents are very welcoming and enjoys giving recommendations of where to find the Hot Springs water spouts where you can fill your jugs of the famous water for free! Topping off historic sites there is also Oaklawn Casino and Racetrack. Two great food places include The Purple Cow (cute burger place) and Rockys Corner Pizza! Totally a treasure to vacation to and has become one of my favorite spots.

Hot Springs is a great family place! Lots to see and do. A trip along bathhouse row downtown is a must for anyone who hasnt been there. Plenty of places to eat and shop. We eat at Rolandos speakeasy when visiting the park. Stroll down the promenade and take a look at the natural hot springs left uncapped. Bring your own jug or bottle and there is a fountain with spigots to take some home! For the kids and kids at heart theres a great magic show Maxwell Blade as good as any in Vegas. Theres also magic springs theme park with a water park as well as thrill rides. Take a duck boat tour of the lake or a haunted walking tour of downtown. Dont forget mid America museum for the little ones. You wont be disappointed!

While the tower, the baths, and the old architecture is interesting to look at, this ultimately pales in comparison to other National Parks. It’s certainly good for a state park, but I wouldn’t visit again.A word on the baths: in the age of covid, it is basically impossible to get into on a weekend. I would have been interested in trying it out, but that’s impossible for the foreseeable future. Instead, if you are visiting make sure to check out the spring on the Grand Promenade that is fed piping hot water. Dip your toe in there and you’ll basically have taken a bath in Hot Springs.

We stopped by at this national park on a long drive. It was more of a stopover and we didn’t think it was going to turn into such a great vacation weekend. The mountain was very nicely mapped out - do try the various hikes by the end of the day you feel like you really explored the mountain. The hot springs are fascinating and the temperature is pretty hot so dipping feet is out of question :)There are several sanitary taps where the town gets its drinking water! You should grab a bottle and also get some for yourself. All in all a great stay!

Hot Springs National Park is the only National Park contained within a city, and is well worth the visit! We spent some time here in the fall for Labor Day and the weather was perfect for kayaking on the Caddo River. We enjoyed our time here over a long weekend road trip, but its definitely not quite the level of most of the National Parks weve been to. Was cool to see, and in a very pretty location, but the whole place felt more like a tourist trap than a national park. Was initially surprised by this park because it wasnt what I expected being from West. It was in a city and felt more like central park than a national park. Then I went on a early morning hike and got in the hot springs and understood what the hype was all about. It gets a slight dock because you dont feel separated from the world in nature but overall would love to soak in the spring water anytime.

Beautiful national park with so many trails that interconnect so you can design the hike you want to do based on how long and challenging you want it to be. They have free parking in a parking garage downtown which is walking distance from the start of the trails. Park your car and walk to the visitor center where a park ranger is sitting outside with a large map and all the information you could possibly need to have a successful hike. Our park ranger designed her personal favorite hike for us which covered all the must see sights and we absolutely loved it! There was a strange set up to this place as part of it was downtown and another part wasnt. Since my husband and I stayed at a hotel downtown, we just walked to what was close. Those steep hills definitely had us feeling the burn and the loose gravel had my legs turning to jello from using every muscle I had to not slide down. He liked that there were spots to overlook some of the city and I liked all the trees and that we got to see deer cross the path in front of us and there were plenty of skinks running around too (not skunks).
