My wife and I really enjoyed this beach. Its clean and wide open. When we were there, it wasnt overly crowded by any means. Its also nice that you can drive your motorized vehicles or ride your horse on the beach. State Park police patrol the beach keeping the area safer for every one. I reccomend this beach to everyone wanting to enjoy a great time at the ocean.

Drive along the shore for miles, this little place cannot get you bored. Gets very busy during any holiday season, off season visits are pretty cheap and it is easier to find camp spots or hotels then..July 4th firecrackers are lit all along the sea shore and the entire sky lights up to the crackers making an amazing viewing experience. The tide goes up and down pretty soon, so careful where you park your car.

Nice Beach very flat so easy to wade in surf but vehicle traffic on the beach made it less than optimal, especially with two small children and a small dog to keep track of. Not a lot of natural variety but if youre just looking for a place to play on the beach and in the ocean this works. Beach was quite busy during the week but not nearly as congested as the open access beach a couple miles down the road.

Beautiful State park.. 15 minute walk to the beach.. We had a 26 foot travel trailer with no hookups but they have water available in various locations. We ran a generator for power every so often and the rv dump is easily accessible. You have privacy at each campsite.. I would highly recommend this state park.

If you are looking for a small place to camp this is a good place for it. The rangers seemed really nice and the sites were good. The park itself was very small and only had one real trail on it and the trail was very short. It does have access to the beach which is pretty great though.

Very nice park and campground. The hook up sites are more private than the parking lot at Twin Harbors. The rest of the sites are also more private with plenty of underbrush and trees between you and visitors from the UN.I bit of a hike to the beach but its worth it. Its meant to be a hike after all. Amazing beach with loads of elbow room. Facilities are much better maintained than Twin Harbors with clean bathrooms all in good functioning order.Definitely worth a nice long stay. We will return.

The park is lovely. My only complaint is that the trail from the day use parking to the beach is not really handicapped accessable. I use a walker and was exhausted by the time we got to the beach. Not because of the distance but rather because the trail has deep ruts in places and soft sand in others.

It was a great camping experience and a great beach. My wife and I camp everywhere with our rooftop tent and this is one of the best state parks we have been to. We highly recommend going here if you want a nice beach to lounge around on. The only thing I would caution people on is finding a quality spot to set up on the beach. We found a good spot with plenty of room but didnt realize there was horse manure right in front of us until the wind changed directions. Then the whole rest of the day horses came trotting past us. Just keep an eye out for a good spot away from the bustle. The town is really close and a nice little place to visit.

Super friendly staff. Quick and easy check in. Our spot was clean and tidy, fully ready for us to set up camp. Super close to Ocean Shores where theres an IGA to get any supplies you need or may have forgotten. Also great access to the beautiful and expansive beach. Highly recommend buying firewood at the ranger station, its priced fairly and high quality wood!

This is probably the best place to access the beach near Ocean Shores. We found it way too crowded by the town. Theres still quite a few people here but a lot less. You must walk to the beach along a sandy trail that is about a half mile long. We never found the restroom but we didnt look really hard. It was a clean campground with ample parking. Since it is a state park you need a Discovery Pass or pay a day use fee. I cant comment on the actual campground as we didnt camp we just used this to access to beach. But it looked great driving through.

The park is located in the Forest and sand dune zone providing great camping spots and access to the pacific ocean. The beach is large and sand covered. You can beach comb and also fig razor clams at certain seasons. It is close to the town of Ocean Shores which offers dining and supplies. Horse back riding and other activities.

As always a trip to the ocean is quite the experience and can usually turn out an excellent fun day... As always kites were flown snafus happened, but all worked itself out... Had a little bit of traffic coming in, but being that the season is as it is its totally understandable why people are rushing to enjoy it while they can... So my advice is if youre near Ocean Shores, Washington take the opportunity to see it!!!

The beach is drivable and there is plenty of space for everyone. The beach access is well-maintained with gravel to prevent potholes and allow easy entrance. There is sometimes horse riding at the entrance that was $20/hr when I was there in June 2020. The waves can be muddy at certain times of the year, but they are usually swimmable. Just be very careful of the riptide and do not go out alone or past waist level for safety.

We camped here over a weekend with friends and family. Very close to the beach. Nice clean restrooms with showers. You need to buy shower tokens - each token in 50 cents for a hot water shower for 3 min. 2 tokens per head per day is more than enough. Infact one token is enough. The campsites are a bit congested with little privacy. The sites themselves have a huge sandpit (site number 25) and kids had a load of fun.The beach is a 15 min walk from loops 3/4 and maybe 5 min less from loops 1/2 however it is better to take your car and drive around to the beach.

Very nice LARGE campsites - much larger that typical in Oregon state beach parks that weve camped in. Seemed about evenly split between tents and RVs. Long walk, may be inaccessible for some disabilities, to large beach. Only negative for us was the number of cars & trucks driving on the beach, something were not used to, but the beach is so big that it wasnt hard to distance ourselves from them.

Trying to be transparent with this review. We stayed at Twin Harbors State Park the night before and fell in love with it. Going from Twin Harbors to any other park was probably going to be disappointing. But camping at Ocean City SP was not worth the price of admission. We stayed on Loop 4, which had 2 very specific areas. The first was an RV parking lot with about 20 RV spots literally stacked on top of each other. Luckily we were not there. Our site, #157, was extremely private. Surrounded by trees and swampland, it was quiet. It was also mosquito heaven. Whos idea was it to put a campground in the middle of a bog? The other good thing about our site: it was probably as close to the beach as you could get. BUT, dont be fooled, it was still a 15 minute walk from our site to the beach, down an overgrown beach access trail, through the mosquito invested bog. Lesson learned; we will never go back there!

This a large state park nestled in trees and vegetation walking distance to the beach. The campground is reasonably clean. The facilities are showing their age and should be updated soon. The bathrooms are average clean, the campsites are also average kept, my fire ring was really past it. The campsites here are pretty compact too but offer a lot of privacy. Also note that a lot of the spots are in a marsh so there are a lot of Mosquitos. I don’t think they fog the area for insects like they do in other parks. In terms of the area, a nice feature is to be able to drive on the beach and make a fire. The town is quaint and if you like to gamble there is a casino next door. It’s going to be 10 degrees cooler here than inland, the Ocean is cold and there is usually a steady wind on the beach. Bring your food with you, there is an IGA in town. Firewood you can get here, just be sure it’s dry. There is a good place in Ocean City itself that sells wood, a few miles north of the campground.

Amazing!!! But do not recommend camping in loop 4, most of the sites are so muddy and 162 was next to a swamp so the mosquitoes and biting flys were horrible. Many of the other campsites were awesome though, and luckily we were able to move sites. The beach is perfect and there were tons of horses. My little gals were in heaven the whole trip. Bathrooms and showers are well maintained (showers get cold during busy times). Completely recommend coming here if you love camping and the beach you will be in your element. We will be back.

This park is easy to find off Hwy 115. The full-service RV sites have level pads, properly angled for easy back in, nice grass but no privacy. The tent/no service sites offer better privacy and nice shade. It is a long walk to the beach on an easy but narrow trail. Once at the beach it is a long way to the surf. Really big beach. We did not see any trail markers to help you find your way back from the beach. Driving is allowed on this beach, so you must watch out for vehicles. Tokens needed for showers. Bathrooms clean and some recent new paint. Well maintained and clean park.

Feels like you roll through a time warp when you drive into town, the signs that greet you, as you turn into town. It is suddenly 1990 again, and this is a new and hoppin town. And then it isnt. It appears that muted floral pastels, glass tables and cheap brass furniture never went out of style here. Which is cool, because the 90s were awesome. This era is permanent here, and that seems to be a theme in several little towns in WA. I have visited here several times as my work takes me all over western Washington, and this beach is massive. Expansive and desolate, bear in mind it is February. I go for walks on the fine gray sandy beaches and love to feel a d listen to the roar of the ocean waves. The Pacific is far more fierce than the Atlantic. It is always raging here with huge waves as far as you can see. Not much for beachcombers. Clams, plastic and broken sand dollars is the majority of what you see washed up on shore. LOVELY. It is a beautiful, tranquil and serene place. Im excited to see it in the summer.

Pros about these campgrounds: nicely spaced-out sites that are good for visual privacy, theyre a nice, short walk to the beautiful, sandy beach, and there were decent showers on the loop 1 campground.Cons: The weapons-grade, gigantic mosquitoes! Even with deep-woods DEET sprayed on us and our clothing in layers and citronella torches around us, our entire party was covered in bites by day 2. I had to give up and pack us up early as they liked to eat me most - after 3 nights I left with 47 bites. On the 3rd night we encountered about 40 mice jumping through the bushes and swarming our site while we were sitting by the fire. (Nature is well fed at these campgrounds, it seems!)The water stations also lacked working drains, so everyones grey water just made pools all day.Bring your own TP as they often run out in the morning. The staff were nice, but theyre really understaffed in this COVID era.

For about $30/night with a no utilities spot, it wasnt the best deal in camping out there...but its worth the money. Id highly recommend spot number 110, which is where I camped. Its nearest to the beach trail and has great shade and a fairly private feel. I only gave this place a 4 star review because of the somewhat unclean bathroom, and the fact that the welcome center where you check in wasnt open once while I drove by in the 3 days I was there. They do open each day....just for VERY limited hours.

We were in a double site. Kind of a small site for a double but we made it work with one trailer and an RV. We were there for the second time maybe in 4-5 years. Same circumstances for our visit in that it was an extended family gathering. We had some problems on our first visit from the rangers complaining that we are being too loud. On this second visit we had a visit from a ranger two nights in a row. On the second night when he decided to pay us a visit I happened to be standing at the end of our campsite not actually in it but in the driveway. He came up and spoke to myself and three others and told us to tell everybody else to be quiet we were too loud. A few minutes later my 14 year old daughter and a couple of her cousins and their aunt were walking back to our campsite in the dark. They were walking by a dumpster thats a directly across from our campsite only to have the ranger step out of the dark and say hello. He was standing across from our site listening to us. What a creep!! Scared them to death. He then walked back down into our campsite and told us we had a final warning to be quiet. I can safely say that we will not be back to this park and I will spread the word about the rangers. Theyre jerks. I realize they have a job to do but really we werent that loud. Yes, we had some voices that were loud when they speak, yes we laughed. No music or whooping it up just trying to have a nice time with a large group of people we havent seen in a while. We werent any louder than others around the camp area.
