My daughters wedding was this passed weekend. The Gardens are absolutely magical. She held her ceremony lakeside which gave a most picturesque backdrop. Having the cocktail hour in the museum allowed guests to appreciate another view of the lake and enjoy the art. The reception under the pavilion was dazzling. And Amanda, the best! Professional, helpful and super friendly! Five star for sure!

Very beautiful property! Tons of photo opportunities. Everybody we ran into was very friendly and singing. The plants and trees were all very unique and pretty. I really enjoyed seeing the Veterans memorials! The property is well taken care of. Beautiful wedding opportunities! Overall, the entire property was beautiful and well taken care of.

Beautiful place to go and walk or to just sit and find peace and quiet. Minus one star because it’s not really a traditional botanical garden. There are some flowers but not really a whole lot, and only one bathroom towards the main entrance. They do have some cool sculptures though, and considering it’s free a person really can’t complain.Side note: They do not spray for bugs. You will be eaten alive so bring bug spray.

Being a native of Bluff Park Hoover, it is no suprise how Awesome this sanctuary of a woodland retreat is! Aldridge Gardens has the best of all this portion of Alabama has to offer...woodland gardens with awesome walking trails nestled within a lake setting. Not to mention an incredible display of the snowflake hydrangea found and patented by the Aldridge family. It is one of those places you tend to say...I cant believe all this is here!

Beautiful, peaceful, area. Its a nice stroll or a great spot to have a picnic thanks to the many benches. The first time I went, they had 5 weddings and a reception going on at once. It was all so organized and spaced out that no one was in others way and everyone got to have their amazing day.

Beautiful place, super well kept up, and the caretakers are super kind. Went into the gift shop and picked up fish food and had a ridiculous amount of fun feeding the fish and turtles. As a note, NEVER FEED FISH OR BIRDS BREAD. It is so bad for them, and I saw several people doing just that. For 25¢ a bag, you can get the bags of food and feed them in a way thats healthy for them, and helps the gardens. Excellent place to enjoy a picnic and birdwatch. Saw a beautiful woodpecker!

We spent about 1 1/2 hours there this morning and its a lovely & tranquil place. The land (30 acres) and a (small) house were donated by Mr. & Mrs. Aldridge and its now a non-profit. Theres a dedicated group of volunteers, including those who staff the gift shop. We had a very pleasant conversation with the couple who worked in the shop today (although the shop is tiny and we didnt see anything of interest). There were several women (singly) walking around the grounds who probably go walking there regularly - all of whom greeted us as they passed us - and later we saw a large group of adorable kindergartners who were very excited to be there.

We visited Aldridge Gardens this past week. It is Spring so the flowers and trees were showing off. As you enter the gardens you are filled with a sense of peace and tranquility. There is a nice lake with a covered area where you can sit and enjoy the view or feed the large fish and turtles.Various trails wander through the gardens. There is a bridge leading to a Veteran’s memorial.Throughout the garden are whimsical statues and seating areas created by a local artist. They have a gift shop on the property. My grandkids love coming here and we have had some lovely family pictures made at the gardens. It is a real treat right in Birmingham.

Absolutely gorgeous place to go, plus its free! Paths are wide and easy to navigate, and the statues scattered around are interesting. The plant variety means theres something to see every season, so go often. Also a great place to have an event like a wedding or big party.

This is a beautiful place, it has lots of stillness and there is beauty everywhere you look. It’s peaceful and quiet and there is an art gallery showing the work of a different artist each month. I love feeding the geese and the ducks, also the turtles and the fish. They sell food to feed the animals for 25 cents and I also like to give them organic oatmeal. It’s free to get in, of course they accept donations and I have taken very good photos in there. There is a little trail to walk around the lake and a few sculptures. Definitely a place to bring your family to and remember to bring some food for yourself because they don’t sell food or snacks in there.

Very Nice Garden! The gardens were great and on some levels better than the other garden in Birmingham. We enjoyed the geese, the ducks, turtles and fish. It was quiet and peaceful and we would love to come back and visit again. The only negative was the Event Staff member that stopped me at the gate on my way out. He told me I was not allowed to take pictures unless I paid $30. I explained that I was only taking candid landscapes and was not planning on doing anything with them - he stressed again that I needed to pay and wanted me to go with him to the gate and get the forms. On the way there we met two others entering the gardens with cameras and he told them the same thing - they left. When we reached the gate there was a sign that said it was free to take pics. The only reference was to a fee for formal settings.Other than that it was a great place and I would highly recommend to anyone

This place is such a beautiful and amazing place to experience. It’s always enjoyable every time you visit BUT.... if you are trying to have your wedding there beware! Amanda is good when she wants to be. She lacks a key part to having a wedding and making sure everything is planned properly which is communication. She only answers the phone or emails whenever she feels like. Once you do get a hold of her, she seems to act like you are a burden. I would definitely be mindful of this when planning your wedding.

I appreciate the city of Hoover allowing us to enjoy this almost heavenly place.Unbelievably on Saturday I saw a group of Hispanic women and children writing or carving into the trunks of trees! I throughly enjoyed my visit here, but I think charging $50 a year for “privilege” of bringing a dog for 12 hours a week (even fewer hours allowed in the winter!) is ridiculous. Restricting people from bringing their dogs to a park that has a great deal of woodsy paths is unnecessary.
