My son has been playing with the Hoover Soccer Club since 2012 when he was just 4 years old. He started with recreational league and moved to competitive in 2016. We have always had a positive experience with the club and strongly believe you get out what you put in.There have been several changes internally over the past few years that resulted in poor communication at times and I can understand some parents frustration. However, I have seen many positive changes over the last 12 months and have confidence in this Board of Directors and this coaching staff. Were happy to be a part of the Hoover Soccer Club and look forward to helping it grow.

I had to give this one star because a negative option was not available. This is the most poorly run sports organization of all time. If you are on the fence about sending your kid here, RUN, dont walk to another academy. HSC is managed by the biggest soccer clowns on the planet who have zero respect for parents and sadly the education of the kids they are pretending to teach. With the exception of a few good coaches (they all leave) this organization is a complete waste of money and time.

HSC is on the rise. Paul the HSC rec director is working hard to organize and streamline the rec program. My son has played for the past two seasons and I will sign my second son up in the fall (and then sign up the youngest when she is old enough). Ignore the negative reviews from last year, since Paul has taken over the program, it has improved significantly.

What a great soccer club! Ive been involved with HSC as a parent and occasional volunteer for 8 years. All three of my kids have played from U4 up to U12 - recreational and competitive. The professional coaches (competitive) are excellent and the volunteers are easy to work with and also deliver great coaching. They have proven to be open minded to suggestions from participants and continue to develop the program. I have never, not once, felt unwelcome or unheard. The children (my children) have certainly gained new friends, sportsmanship, and soccer skills over the years. Hoover is a big town and HSC continues to experience growth; the club is handling the growth well and adjusting to changes nicely. thanks HSC!!

This has consistently been a disappointment. I had high hopes since they had changes to the staff recently that it would improve, but it really is only worse. I registered my son for the U7 recreational league for the third time primarily because his friend was playing for the first time and wanted him on his team. To start, they were not placed together even though this was requested (they include an option for such requests when you register). They also offer options for practice days, but we were given the one day I listed as not able to have practices. I was not given any information about team or practice times until the team coach finally sent information directly to us. Mind you I called the office at least 5 times trying to get information. One of the times the lady who answers the phone finally forwarded my call to Tomas who picked up and said that there was a meeting that night and the time then hung up the phone. They claimed that they didnt have my email information, but we have played with them before and there was no reason why they should be able to charge my bank account but not be able to contact me.Our team was set-us as co-ed incorrectly, so we lost some players which meant that we didnt have as many players as we needed. The game schedule was never sent out to everyone and some teams had more games than others. Some teams played each other twice while others never played each other. As the other reviewed mentioned, there were no trophies or anything given at the end, only a diploma. Literally it said diploma on it. A joke. I understand not giving awards for participation, but this is a participation league! We dont keep score, the teams are all mixed up with no regard to skill levels and each child is allowed the same amount of play time. The coaches are all volunteer. How are you going to say at the beginning that its just for fun and to learn skills, but also you dont get any significant recognition. The Club put it on the coaches to purchase the awards for the kids, shameful.I understand if you are trying to get things together and staff changes, but maybe you should look at decreasing your enrollment/ registration until you get it all worked out or at least some of it worked out. Seems all you care about is your wallet, not these kids.

This was our first time with Hoover Soccer Club. It wasnt the best experience weve had with sports.First, lets talk price. We spent over $200 for our 2 children, ages 4 and 5, to play recreationally. Not only did we pay that, but we also had to buy uniforms and shoes. That was an additional $150.The lack of communication was ridiculous. We didnt find out whos team we were on and when we were supposed to have practice until 2 hours before the first practice. My 5 year olds coach never showed up and the director didnt know about it until I emailed him three practices and a game into the season. I should have reached out sooner, but I thought they would know these types of things. The fields were nice even though there were a ton of gnats and mosquitoes. If you ever go out there be sure to bring bug spray. They also had no seating which is understandable since they devide the fields up into smaller ones. Its now the end of the season (last game this Saturday) and we got an email on Tuesday stating that the kids will not be receiving medals this year simply because you dont give medals to kids who didnt win anything. All players will get a diploma and a goodie bag with candy. I could understand that if we didnt go into this knowing it was recreational. The kids are 4 and 5. My 4 year olds coach even emailed us saying that he disagreed and had been trying to contact Thomas Fox for over two weeks to see about pictures and medals with no response. Their coach purchased metals and I bought some for my 5 year olds team. And speaking of pictures, in the same email they stated that they were not having professional pictures done because parents had already taken pictures of the team with their personal cameras and phones. We payed a lot for the boys to play and I cant imagine what some of the other parents had to pay. The coaches for rec soccer are volunteer and we didnt see any money put to use for our kids. Pictures and a metal would have gone a long way.The only good things that came out of this were that my boys had fun, learned a few things, and Thomas was usually at the field walking around. This was their first year with a new staff. I understand the struggles of learned how to manage, but as a parent paying them I just want to say get your crap together.Pros: nice people, kids have fun, fields (bring bug spray)Cons: price, communication, no medals or pictures, inexperienced staffIve been thinking hard about giving this club a second chance in the fall and I still havent made up my mind.
