Small but packed of stuff in the museum. It was just us during my visit . Must be because of covid19 . My two year old daughter loved looking around . Dont miss the drawers .
Very interesting more of a cultural center rather than art museum!
Small.. Cheap.. Lots of information. Older lady at desk was very helpful and knew quiet a bit about the culture and history. It has local art from modern age people within the last few years and also stuff from tribes many years ago.. The back has animal info and a bird watching camera feed from bird island. Its worth going to once u hit homer to better appreciate ur surroundings
Truly interesting place to visit. Particularly, enjoyed the historic pioneer home. It was once owned by a women whose hospitality was quite generous to newcomers to Homer. We enjoyed this museum and the neighborhood surrounding it.
A gem in downtown Homer. Though somewhat small, it is crammed with exhibits that provide an insight into the people who came to Alaska for a fresh start. Lots of interact areas with audio about the settlers, plan to spend a lot of time if you get hooked on one of the stories. We also enjoyed the videos in the basement area with the wildlife displays. A plus for my wife who is a quilter were a number of quilts around the building including one that was being raffled off.Outside is a example of a settler cabin including the out-building.A very nice option on any day but especially if you need to find an inside activity on inclement weather.
Great spot for everyone in the family.
We really enjoyed this museum. We learned about the Kilcher family who appear on Alaska the Last Frontier. We also learned about animals as well as Alaskan natives way of life. So many things from floor to ceiling to look at :).
The displays tell so much about the history of the area....easy to read....beautiful displays. I appreciated the art show they had on display. I could spend days there.
Really great museum. Spend 3 hours reading content and watching films. Reveals a lot of facts about Homer itself, Exxon oil pollution, locals, animals and history of the place. I’d highly recommend to visit Pratt museum.
Kids enjoyed this place
Just enough to explain the area and the bay but not too much stuff to overwhelm you.
Amazing place to bring your children
Good mixture of modern art and historical artifacts.
A very nice building and amazingly friendly and knowledgeable staff. A popular spot for tourists in the Homer area. Some of everything in there. A Great historic wood cabin that is furnished with past relics.
Short but the people are really nice and the displays very interesting.
Beautiful gardens, amazing local artists work displayed. A very good collection to represent the immediate area and life.
I visit the museum often with my grandchildren. Staff is always very welcoming. The kids love feeding the fish, they learn alot about sea lifr. We also love the trails that surround the museum. Always a pleasant experience. Good place to walk dogs too.
Beutiful little museum that features Homers rich history
Very nice woman that greeted us. Hands on displays, very interesting. Happy to answer any and all questions.
Really neat place and very interesting
I took my wife and my three year old to this museum on a trip to Homer. There was something for all of us to enjoy. Everything from animal skeletons to art by local artists and it was all well done.
Nice visit to an interesting place.
We had a buy one get one for this from an Entertainment book. I would not recommend going here unless you are trying to kill time like we were.
This little building has been an educational and amazing learning tool for the children and entire community for years. So much to see!!!!
Exceedingly friendly staff. There is much to learn with many different types of displays. Definitely worth a visit.
Lovely small town museum with a wide variety of engaging and educational exhibits. This museum has a bit of everything, ranging from art to science.
A must see when you visit Homer. It gives wonderful historical insight into how the town endured and uses its resources.
Really cool museumm there was a lot more than I expected. Cool wildlife and Alaska history facts.
Full of really great and interesting historical items. There are 3 floors. We were not able to see everything before having to get back on the road.
Great
Very well done information on Alaska culture, history and nature. Enjoyed visit thoroughly. They even have a video about the Kilcher family
Great outdoor artifacts from the past!
Very beautiful, eye catching art and sea creatures. Sea creatures look well taken care of, and a huge selection of primitive Native American art, sea life bone structures, ect. Very nice staff, great for school field trips.
Exhibits were very uninspired. The $10 entrance fee goes toward ???? The garden out front is poorly labeled and the pocket guides provided do not reflect most of the plants you see. The guides show plants that are not even planted.
Good place for people of all ages to have a fun learning experience.
Wonderful displays and great volunteers who are very knowledgeable. We loved the Alaskan womens display
Neat little museum to visit while you are visiting.
Homers hidden gem very informative, worth going
Lots of history displayed, great place to take the family
Great museum for science and local history. Our favorite was the octopus tank
Informative, interactive. Enjoyed our visit.
