I was in Utah for a rare vacation and found that this is a great golf club! You get a mix of a lot of different types of holes and vantage points. The staff was very friendly. Great food in the kitchen!I somehow left my state championship ring in the cart and Bob Martin was nice enough to reach out to me on Facebook to get it returned. Can’t thank these guys enough for the great work they do and the honesty of their team!Great course!!!!
Good public course and always in great shape. Would be 5 stars but there are a few quirky holes on the front 9. If you’re only playing nine holes I would definitely ask to go off the back!
The couese is an interesting xourse. It should be a fairly easy course for peiple that hit the ball straight. For those of us that are often off center it is a little more challenging. It is a long hard walk for those who want to walk. The course is getting a little dry in many places. The bunkers are almost gravel as opposed to pure sand.
One of the best courses in the valley! Steep grades with lots of ups and downs, so if you want to walk you better be ready! Otherwise the carts have ball/club washers attached and makes for a great time!
Covid friendly procedures and beautiful views. Great course to play!
It is a tough and narrow course so be prepared to lose many balls.Gorgeous setting with gorgeous views .
Worst course in the valley for value. Course is never in great condition and its always slow.
It was a beautiful evening for the back 9 holes. Greens were pretty fast and in great shape.
Fun course with lots of interesting holes. Challenging if youre not hitting the ball straight but you can score well when youre playing well. Gets a lot of play, so the greens can get a little roughed up.
Great course, great views, not easy course but not bad either.
Great course!! Some challenging holes. Awesome time.
Excellent challenge w slope on putting
There’s a reason old mill golf course is one of the busiest public courses. It’s a convenient location just off of I 215 and one of the more picturesque settings tucked up against the mountains.
The course is well maintained and looks amazing. The shop, food, and carts are all priced fairly. If you do nine holes it will take about 2.5 - 3 hours, 18 holes will double that obviously. The holes are enjoyable and you can tell some thought went into planning the most fun layout for each. My biggest gripe with this course is there are no club or ball cleaners anywhere! I was blown away that I couldnt find a single one on all 18 holes. I didnt check by the main building on my way out, so there could be one there? Ive been to some of the cheapest golf courses in Utah and they will usually have some on the course if not at every hole. Moving on.... There are bathrooms on the course, along with drinking fountains and shade. All in all I had a good time on this course and would recommend it to anyone who asks.
Novice golfer here - this course is a blast! It offers so many different holes and some incredible views. Ive bit been to every course in Utah, but this is definitely the best yet. The terrain can be quite varied, including steeper hills, so youll probably want a cart. It is a but pricier here, but worth it for the landscape.
Allways nice
One of best courses in Utah.
Always one of my favorite courses!!
Very nice and clean restrooms
Beautiful course and friendly staff make this a must golf this season.
We hosted our first annual golf event at Old Mill, and the whole staff was friendly and helpful. Brian was great to work with, and made sure our event went off without a hitch. Well definitely be hosting more events there in the future.
We do our annual Non-profit golf tournament at the Old Mill and they are the best! Brian and Jay in the clubhouse rock! Kaylyn and JP in the banquet services are the best ever...we love this team of pros and will keep coming back for years!
Great course. Greens are true and fast. Fairways are in good shape get some roll unlike wet Ohio.
Nice location but everything else is a bit below par. The driving range is mats only and only allows irons. The course is ok but not very challenging.
Great view great food! Good god!! Not your friendly weekend course. If you are off the fairway a tad you loose your ball!! Mow the freakin lawn! Made for slow play not coming back until they mow.
Great course
Fun and challenging course
Sloooooooooow play. I like the course (except the last 4 holes on the front side). The last 3 times Ive been here, the pace of play has been discouraging. We were one of the first groups off the tee at 6am, and when we got to the back, we screeched to a halt. We had any where from 6 to 8 golf carts waiting on almost every hole on the back side... Took over 3 hours to finish that side.
Great course for the price. It had a great view of the valley and tons of elevation change. The course is pretty well maintained and the greens are above average. They switched the front and back nines for some reason recently, but I prefer the old front nine abs if I am only playing nine I always ask for that part of the course.
Well maintained golf course. A little slow at times but all around a good time
How else can I put any golf is paradise
Absolutely beautiful golf course. If you havent played here yet, you need to make it a priority.
Nice course here
Solid course, pretty fun design overall you definitely need to be accurate with whatever you choose to tee off with even on the holes with wide fairways. I was in a few bunkers on the front and a few on the back and just like the other reviewers mentioned literally full of rocks. Ive seen pebbles before, but there were rocks easily about an inch across so if you value your clubs you might wanna just incorporate a rule beforehand with your friends giving yourself a free drop. Greens were in great shape and overall shape was good, but the bunkers seriously need some attention.
Good layout. Greens were heavily used, very rough.
Course is in great condition! Had a great time.
Sand traps were terrible. No discounts for seniors. Love the course
Great course, fun elevation change from the longer tee boxes
Best golf course food in the SLC county. The course is great too. Got love The Grill At Old Mill.
Do yourself a favor and never play here. Lots of other courses, don’t wast your time/money here. Trust me on this one.
Fun golf course! Only played the front 9 and it was quite impressive. Some longer par 4s, but but most of the front 9 was down hill. It has some fairly deep bunkers as well. This courses best feature is its beautiful view of the valley. Only downside is the buzzing traffic from I-215, but I didnt notice it much. This is a great course for beginners since itis mostly downhill. If they top the ball, it will roll a long ways. Enjoy this beautiful course.
Its a nice fun course. BUT. Beware the back nine - if Augusta has Amen Corner, then 16 thru 18 here are Circus Corner with wilderness EVERYWHERE. And heres the thing, especially in a tournament: NO LATERAL HAZARDS. Lose your ball, hit again and again and again. For drop-and-go casual play, great; for tournaments, forget it (and tack on two hours for guys hunting for balls). UPDATE 1/2020: I hear they have switched the nines - Circus Corner is on the south.
A superb golf track from white, blue & black tees. Enuff challenges for most weekend golfers. The beauty of the mountains & scenic views down to the Salt Lake valley are awesome
Beautiful course and beautiful views of the valley. Pace of play was great as well. Im not a great golfer but the front 9 was great for my skill level: challenging but not too hard. I would definitely come back.
Awesome course....little wet fron the snow and rain.
Great golf course, they have three sets of 9 holes so you can get a different experience pretty much every time. I always have lots of fun every time I go here!
Great golf course!!!Jay in the pro shop was extremely friendly and knowledgeable on all if the products in the pro shop.I would highly recommend this course to anyone!!!
A fun, challenging course. The front nine is easier than the back nine. The back nine gets narrower and a lot more trees. It isnt the longest course, but it challenges you as shot selection seems to be more important than just driving it a mile. They keep the course up well. But you hit off of mats at the range.
Old Mill is probably my favorite course in the Salt Lake valley but I hardly ever play here. I usually walk when I play golf, and this course is not one I want to walk anymore, its quite a hike. A lot of fun holes on this course with many options on how to play. My favorites holes are #s 2, 9, 10,11,12, 15, 16,17, and 18. I should really make more of an effort to play here more often.
Great course. The front and back nine are completely different courses. Amazing views and interesting layout. #9 has my number everytime I play.
Fun course, quality carts, and friendly staff
I like this golf course, but a 3 hour back nine was a bummer after an enjoyable 2 hour front nine.
Fun design. Greens could have been better
Its always hit or miss, but Ive found some great golf shirts at a 1/3 of the price it would be at another retail store.
Old Mill is a beautiful well kept golf course. The staff is the friendliest I have had the pleasure to work with. I have a group that plays every Wednesday and we have all been happy with the course and staff.
This is a fun course, but its hillside location makes it difficult. If you hit the ball off the fairway you may not get it back!
Nice course with lots of hills and views. Driving range does not allow Drivers. Irons only.
Hard to beat the views on this course. Just majestic. The front 9 is easier than the back 9. Usually in great shape. The greens can be a little slow. One of the best courses along the Wasatch Front.
Old Mill is my favorite public course in South Salt Lake. The course is well kept and in much better condition than all the other public courses on this side of the valley with exception of South Mountain.Length is average from the tips. Not many trees and fewer ob areas that will eat your ball. Greens arent difficult but more challenging than competition with the exception of South Mtn.Green fees and cart for $40 -50. Walk on is going to be challenging unless its mid week mid day or 1 - 2, foursome isnt happening during peak hours.
Great golfing. Needs more shade but an amazing course!
My very favorite golf course.Im having A Great tuna melt right now.
Just a fun course to play. Dont play on Saturday though. Will be a long round
Great golf course and very challenging
I’ve played Old Mill at least once a year for about two decades now and I’ve had some good rounds and too many bad rounds because of poor golf course management. Anyway I decided today that I’m done. If you like having groups thrown out in front of you on the front and on the back, large stones in the bunkers, greens with more spots (dead spots) than a leopard (from ball marks either portly repaired or not repaired at all) and a pro shop encouraged to slam the course with more groups than it can handle per side then you’ll love the place... also, 16,17&18 are clearly holes that were an after thought. It looks to me (and always has) that the developer ran out of real estate and crammed them in. In all fairness, 17 is the worst by far. Anyway, I just finished a 6+ hour 18 holes and no joke, several times today, I’d get to a tee box and wait for THREE GROUPS TO TEE OFF IN FRONT OF ME. called the pro shop on the first tee because they’d called us onto the tee and there were two groups standing and waiting to tee off when we got there.... If you ask me, the place needs more clowns and windmills to go with the circus they already have going. For reference I’m a 7 handicap and I’m not typically a complainer. This is the first review I’ve ever left for a golf course. Had to do it.
Great course. Well maintained. Bring extra balls for the back 9.
Fun course. The front nine is full of grip it and rip holes. The back nine features a couple holes where youll have to hit 3 wood or layup. The greens were terribly long, they needed a cut or rolling. Im a walking golfer. No way I could walk this course.
So look, this used to be a pretty good track but things have gone way downhill. The pro shop is scheduling way too many people for the course, we rolled down to the first tee right at our time and there were 2 groups waiting and 2 groups on the hole. We tee’d off 20 minutes past our tee time and the 18 holes took us almost 6 hours! The greens have ball marks all over the place, they were a total mess and probably the worst I’ve ever seen. The sand traps are atrocious, filled with rocks, mud and standing water in a lot of them. Holes 15, 16, 17 & 18 seems like they ran out of real estate and just slammed those holes in an area that should accommodate maybe 2 holes tops. Oh and on top of dealing with all of that they raised their prices to $50 for 18. I used to really like playing here but I’ve given them way too many chances and at this point I just can’t go back. I’m done with Old Mill.
Great course! very friendly and knowledgeable staff, has a lot of equipment and a beautiful course. It is worth every penny of the price and you wont regret it. Check this place out!
Well kept super difficult golf course. Really enjoyed playing here and will definitely be back. Views are gorgeous!
Course is in great shape and affordable
One of my favorite course to play
The greens are really nice and well keep they do a really good job of keeping it clean and the staff is really friendly and helpful
Fun with my grandson.
Well maintained public course. Nice facility.
Beautiful course ... Great views
Really fun and challenging course. Has some of the best views in Salt Lake!
Fun course they load it up sometimes so you have to play ready golf
I really like this course. It is challenging to me but a real fun course
Greens are always beat up for two main reasons... Patrons have zero clue on how to fix their divots and the fact the course was designed where so many steep approach shots are made. Back nine is poorly designed. This is one of the best courses tho in terms of the views as it overlooks the entire valley
Great golf course
I suck at golf but had a fun time there anyway
Great for an inexpensive round of golf. Otherwise it isnt a very good place to go Golfing. Its right off the freeway, so on some holes thats all you hear.
The front nine is forgiving but the back nine is equally unforgiving. Priced a little higher than competitive courses but in and setting with awesome mountain and some Skyline Valley views
Fun course. Very tough & different holes because of the mountain scape. Loved the breathtaking views too.
Beautiful course. Tremendous valley views. Back 9 is a bit more challenging than the front.
Almost 3 hours and I finally just left after 8 holes. The course itself was good. Maybe if I ever go back I will change this but for now it was a waste of time
The killer game today with my lady Lori Findeis
