Door guy was rude, service was slow. Went with a group of female friends. Guy claiming to be owner wanted to buy them drinks but not me. Asked him what about me and he said buy your own. My friends got the drinks and he would not leave them alone after. He asked one of my friends for there number. She declined him, he became very upset. Just out trying to have a good time, dude is a perv. Dont go with any female friends!!!

Sooo.... went to this bar. Service was great! Our bartender devon was awesome, and super hot, lol. We asked her to make us some drinks, just whatever she had in mind. She went crazy and made some patron fruit drink that was amazing, it had cherries and an umbrella whaaaaaat, awesome. If you go ask for devon she IS americas bar forsure. And the bar was a lot bigger than i thought, we played darts and drank up. Had a great time

This site is my favorite restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. everytime I feel like having a proper supper, this restaurant comes immediately to my head. Great and all sorts of food and a large menu.great staff members, and good ambience. Not less important, the bill is decent. I recommend this spot with pleasure.

Worst experience ever, owner himself is very rude. Bad customer service. My girlfriend felt very uncomfortable after asking him to leave her alone. He didn’t like that so he decided to kick me out. Owners name is rich. Look out for him. Worst bar ever. Food tasted ok tho.

Server Jenn was awesome, attentive and knowledgeable!! Music selection was great too! Definitely will return on Thursday, Friday or Saturday when they have $10 Big ass tropical long islands. My only complaint was they did not have the spinach artichoke dip that I wanted.

First, I want to say the bouncers and guys who run the karaoke rock! They’re really cool! It’s a great upbeat venue that’s really interactive and fun. The music is good too. The only downside to this place is the drinks. If you get any well drink or shots, except them to be watered down and/or short (Specifically from the red haired dude with glasses). I couldn’t taste the whiskey in my whiskey sour at all and when I asked for it to be stronger, I got attitude for it. I paid for a whole other drink and tipped. After that, I still couldn’t even taste the whiskey. Some of the bartenders here are great, but others give attitude for a simple request. Just two things to watch for here!

Very elegant and convenient place. They offer big portions and for reasonable prices. I loved the food a lot and the waiters were very welcoming and explanatory. Highly recommended.

The owner of this place was incredibly rude and can’t even play new songs. I requested 1 song, JUST ONE and it took him 2 hours to tell me that he didn’t have the song at all. In those 2 hours, I asked him when he was going to play it and he kept saying “it’s up next.” If I could give this no stars, I would.This place is trash and that’s all I’m saying

I nice local bar with a friendly staff. The long island is huge and really strong, so be ready for it. I would have kept ordering that but it got a bit sweet for me at the end. the drink prices are pretty cheap. Trivia night on Tuesdays are pretty fun and the weekends tend to have music and a dance floor.

I used to put 5 stars.. I really enjoy coming here. The waitresses and bartenders are awesome, the food is really good, and theres lots to do. Im changing to three stars because on Thursdays, they would always sell hot dogs before close. These are the best hot dogs. Now they changed to pizza.. Such a let down. Ill change back to 5 when the hot dogs come back.

Theres a huge discrepancy between what the waitress charges for drinks than what you pay at the bar, then afterwards they try to explain why theres such a difference. For example, I paid $9.00 for a drink with the waitress at a table. Then later went to the bar to purchase the EXACT SAME drink and was charged $11.25. Wow!!! Really!! Heres the kicker!! I had my friend which is White to purchase the EXACT SAME drink and you would never guess what he paid for it?! You guessed it $9.00!! When I requested to speak with the manager, guess what? DENIED!! Again, what a surprise. Opps!! Did I fail to mention Im Afro American. Ill let you do the math!! The only reason I gave it one star is simply because I cant give it a NEGATIVE 20!! Drink up!!

It’s pretty unfortunate that I have to give this place a low rating my first time here. I came in tonight to play the slots... while I was in the middle of a bonus game, the machines had turned off 2 minutes before close. I had 10 and some change in the bank and then had already racked up 10.00 in bonus and still had 4 bonus games left. Yet I got cashed out at the 10 (and some change).

The bartender is really good. She is knowledgeable about all the drinks. Her food recommendations have been spot on. No matter if it is 9pm or 2am. You get the same service. Highly recommended..

This is the place to be on Thursday night! Everyone on the staff is very friendly. Alex at the door is always very welcoming and has such a positive attitude! The drinks are always really good and they even have good snacks as well. Will definitely be back for more fun!

I had a bad experience here but doesn’t mean that you will. My experience started out good but then being there for too long turned bad. They over served me. Stop serving drinks when people have had too much to drink.

Our first time there since moving to the area and well be returning! Its great to have a place where you can have a drink, listen to music /dance and play some games ( indoor bags, pool tables and darts ) They do serve food, but we ate before we got there and the drinks were made quickly and tasted yummy! The bar has a lot of options, the bar itself and restrooms were clean and the staff was friendly.

Just ordered a pep & sausage pizza from here and it’s the worst pizza i have ever received, the crust was very hard, had smelly aged cheese & it was awfully disturbing burnt, the worst place to buy your pizza from, save your money & go elsewhere

The bouncer was leaning, talking to some people so I didnt know he was the bouncer. as Ive been there before and sometime they card when you go through the door. the bouncer was extremely degrading and completely rude to me asking me why do you think you can just walk in here when I responded he THREATENED to not let me in the bar and was waving my ID around.. like okay it isnt even that great of a time, he made me feel like child being scolded in front of everyone because he wasnt doing his job properly in the first place. I wish I could do negative stars because he was so out of line. stay clear cause nothing about this place was a good time.

Usually awesome. Id avoid going on Thursday night. Apparently they have a dress code despite it being a luau theme this particular night? Denied entrance immediately to my friend based on having athletic shorts? Naturally the whole group of us decided to go to neighborhood inn. Anyhow not likely to go back. Bouncers were unnecessarily rude, this is a bar in a strip mall... not an upscale one in the city.

If youre younger than 35 or looking for singles, busy bar, or really a good time, dont bother coming here on any other day than Thursday. This place probably survives off its Thursdays alone.Even holidays the bar is super empty. Im sure the owner doesnt read his reviews, but one of the biggest issues I had with the place is the music. It was St.Patricks day and the DJ is playing the Macarena 3 times alternatively?! Not to mention the electric slide multiple times. Im sorry... did I time travel back to a middle school dance?! Not even a high school dance, a middle school one... I mean the whole playlist was maybe circa 2011. It was utterly sad. If I had another drink I honestly wanted to tell the DJ he sucked. The other half of my group in fact stopped by, then left immediately to go somewhere else. My friends are majority single 25-29 yr old women who were looking for a good time after a full work week. Like what a bust. Sad thing is Im not even exaggerating.... they played Gangnam Style... I felt bad for the waitress, she kept wanting to get us drinks but none of us were in the mood, and we usually spend big. We even tipped extra just to make her feel better since it was St.Pattys and she worked at an empty bar.The only reason this place even got two stars is because if youre looking for a bar where it is quiet enough you can talk to your friends and have an easy night, this is the place. I could see this as a nice after work, only have one or two drinks before heading home kind of spot. You know, for those really bad office days. They have pool tables, bags, a nice stage that could see more use if the place wasnt such a flop. Honestly good luck to the owner as your oldie generation continues to get older and lose interest in the casual bar life.Tip for customers: Go to Durty Nellies and Lamplighters in Palatine. They are an icon in the community for a reason and not much farther from this place. Karaoke is Wednesay no cover (unlike americas) Plus the bartenders are nice. If youre a repeat customer theyll even top you off with a bit extra.

The place is a joke! The place has more pics of the owner with celebs then American memorabilia. Can we say ego???? I can pay money to get backstage too. Get over yourself.This is not Americas bar. The real Americas bar was in Chicago and owned by Walter Payton.Karaoke sucks!! I was there on Halloween and heard people sing and it sounded like nails on a chalk board. If you want some place to go, pick some place else.

They have surprisingly good food. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable. The only thing Id change is Id put more clothing on the servers.

They suck. Charged me for two of my friends transactions when we all had our own tab open and used our own credit card. That night I got my own bill and the next morning I see Im missing $70 and two other transactions were made by them which I dont understand could happen if we all used our own cards and separate tabs. Called them to explain the situation and Sylvia answered was rude and said they have it taken care of didnt even apologize...well see how long this takes.

Went for trivia trainee, one time we had a great waited, the second time it took 45 min for apb&j and fries. That was it, my friends and I planned to split it as a snack. The waiter was also the bartender that day, and maybe she was overwhelmed but service was terrible. Will only return to as a trivia venue, food was only meh.

I paid $53 dollars for 6 shots of patron, which wouldnt have been a big deal if it was a full shot. It was most 1/2 that. I did not make a big deal about it, but asked the server how many ounces their shots were. (Keep in mind Ive been bartending for 9 years.) Her response was Yeah they short people all the time on Thursday nights.

I was just in Italy about a month ago and the food we had here was just as good if not better than some of our best dishes in Italy. It has a very cozy vibe and the service is phenomenal.

Where on earth is the negative rating systems for places that want to rip you off like this flee ridden hole in the wall. Come in wanting to spend money amd my wife asks for grey goose vodka in her drink but when you try it, tastes like that bottle that you break your back bending over to get off the shelf near the floor when you are on a budget eating ramen noodles 7 days a week. We take it back the the bartender and tells us he cant poor it out and mix a new one because its too expensive and wants to charge for a new one. Great way to Chase out customers that want to spend money.

Americas often gets rowdy and at times can be a bit sketchy. Its usually a decent time though and always pulls a big crowd due to it being one of the later bars in the area. They have two stages, often live music, karaoke, darts and billiards.

The tacos are surprisingly good, despite how small they are. Also, bonus, Garibaldis pizza while you catch the game, whatever your game is. Im watching the Cubs and Blackhawks as I type this. Go Cubs, Hawks too!

GREAT food, especially the sandwiches! Seating was good, and the decor was spot on. Service was amazing as well, with nice, friendly staff. Trivia night is hosted occasionally, and that makes going here all the more special.

Affordable, local bar with a night club vibe on Thursdays. If youre from Elgin or the sorrounding suburbs, expect to see high school classmates each visit. Food is good, lots of women, chill atmosphere. However, if you plan a b-day party here, you are basic. This is the club you go to when you dont wanna spend a lot of money on food, liqour and gas.
