The Hoboken Museum is a place that takes you back to a tangible time. The plethora of postcards adorning the walls, the Frank Sinatra shrine set up like a cozy livingroom. And speaking of cozy, the staff makes you feel right at home. Well worth the $5 admission fee. If you can, buy a book from their shop, or drop a little extra $ in their box. Its important to sustain the keepers of Hobokens history. Book your trip today and start spreading da news. ;-)

Charismatic museum with sure interesting features. I was there for a workshop, they have a nice screen and viewing set up. Postcard exhibit had crazy embedded images within images - I love that tech. They keep a bowl outside with fresh water for sure friends passing by. And theyre near Pier 13. parking is a real challenge tho.

Hoboken has so much history for such a small town, its great to have a organization that preserves it. A cool little museum with rotating exhibits on different aspects of the citys past. They also have a small gift shop to get you Hoboken related swag....

It is a tiny little place with a lot of cool old photos and postcards. The real value, however, is the free online database they maintain of cool history related to Hoboken.Hoboken has changed rapidly over the past few decades and its important that we preserve the rich history. The place offers so more than just luxury buildings, acai bowls, and pop-up parks. It was an industrial city that has been gentrified and this museum gives us a small look at Hobokens past.

Very small museum. Interesting if you want to know when the cities in New Jersey were founded and what they looked like. The main thing they show is postcards from the early 20th century. I wish there was some info on Frank Sinatra and how hes related to Hoboken. Entrys $5 (cash only), so its up to you to decide if its worth it for you. You probably will spend 10-20 min there, no more.

The terrific exhibit on Hobokens role in the first World War is ending in late December 2018. This is a great little museum: not too big, great collections and website, knowledgeable and friendly staff, wonderful lecture series, films, and childrens programming.

They set the standard for a small town museum. The downstairs space features in-depth exhibitions of local interest, such as Frank Sinatra or the centennial of World War I. Lecture series from experts accompany these exhibits. The upstairs space is a gallery, highlighting the best local artists in a variety of media. The museum also runs community and family events.

Well done! History of Hoboken is well presented and as a member of the Historical Society we have received Chapbooks which tell the story of Hoboken residents and how they came to live in the city. Very important to keep these stories alive!I have purchased two old-time photos from the museum that capture the city perfectly! Support this museum becuase it would be a shame if the stories of the city cant continue to be told!

Its a unique museum. Thats interesting because its a rotating exhibits that concentrate on the various aspects of Hoboken history form the foundation of the Hoboken Historical Museum. Also I could saw some popular displays include the citys contribution to American music, the history of the Hudson River, and art galleries for local artists.*****

My first visit to the Hoboken Historical Museum was as a photographer hired to shoot the Google Virtual Tour for their location. In the process we also had the pleasure of meeting the staff and viewing the exhibit. It is an interesting place, well laid out, and has some great items on display on each level. We recommend it highly for anyone visiting Hoboken!
