Haunted tours were phenomenal!

Just finished up my Holiday shopping here! So much fun, nice gift shop! Nice people!

This is a must stop if you are visiting Hingham. The building itself, the renovated Derby Academy, is both beautiful and full of history. The Heritage Museum housed there has an extensive current exhibit on Hingham as Bucket Town as well as a gallery filled with curated items from the societys vintage furniture and other artifacts. The third floor has the archives (by appointment) and the first floor has an outstanding gift shop with Hingham items, including a treasure corner of fabulous donated items for sale. Check the website for current hours, currently Wed-Sat from 11 to 3.

Warmly welcomed by deeply knowledgeable and excellent storytelling docents. Magnificent pieces on display tell amazing history of transitional town through centuries as fishing, manufacturing, sea venturing all playing roles in development to todays strong community. Extensive gift shop at entrance accessible prior to admission. Definite go-to!
