The Hilo bay front is stunning, from the Japanese Gardens on Coconut island, to the huge beach front parks that line the Hilo bayfront. A must see is the monument in honor of King Kamehameha and the beautiful bridge near the monument that goes over part of the Wailuku river that runs through the park. Truly a great place to visit!

Nice place for a picnic, fishing and canoeing. The shore makes for a nice viewing spot, especially on sunset. It is a black sand beach and the color adds a lot of interest.

Beautiful yet it can be even more beautiful if we all pick up what ever trash we can find on the beach and anywhere along the road that can make its way into the ocean. Aloha Aina

Nice place to walk. The sand on the beach is dark due to its volcanic origin.

Canoe and sailboat races, fishing, no swimming. The water is often polluted with sewage. It can be amazingly pretty on a sunny day.
