I love this dog park! It has three sections, one huge grassy big dog park, one small grassy little dog park, and one medium all-dogs area that only has gravel. It seems like the grassy sections get closed for the winter so the gravel area is a good solution for rainy times. All of the dogs who come here are super friendly and fun too.

Definitely should be monitored and/or maintain. They need more these in the city Because theres tons of people there all the time.

Many dogs of all kinds, sizes, behaviors, and ages visit this park so it is a wonderful place to socialize your dog or have it play. There are bag stations for picking up after your dog and garbage cans. There are also water spouts and bowls available to provide water for your dog. There are a number of benches and the place is pretty and well-maintained. There are three separate areas, one for puppies or small dogs, one for all dogs, and one for training with a course.

Hit or miss here. Some people can follow simple common courtesy things like picking up after their pet, and then there are other who would rather argue whether or not the poop in question, is indeed, their precious pooches. Short of video evidence with these people, its best to just walk away.

Its a beautiful park, but a surprising lack of accountability within the community. The entire perimeter of the park is full of poop left on the ground, and the center where the majority of the action takes place has poop about every 10 feet or so. The last time I went, I saw a woman let a man know his dog had pooped (he watched his phone the entire time, then walked off when the dog was done), and instead of saying ok thanks, I missed it he called her The Investigator, and that she needed find out who all the other dogs are that pooped without being picked up. I wish I knew the rest of the conversation, but it took maybe 15 minutes of back and forth before he finally attempted to pick it up but we didnt see anything. Not even ten minutes later, a different man was telling that same woman she cant guard the bowl for her dog for any amount of time. It couldnt have been very long, I didnt even see her doing it. There was something about the guys dog being bowl aggressive, and the guy telling the woman she needed to bring her own water bowl if she didnt want dogs to work it out. I dont know if its a new thing, but I hadnt seen anyone upset over guarding a bowl for a minute, before. This did not feel like a safe environment anymore, at that point. NO ONE should be harassed for letting someone know they missed their dog pooping, and NO ONE should feel entitled to not have to pick up after their dogs simply because everyone else does it reasoning. Im also appalled at the number of people that use the, let dogs work it out method of socializing rather than training. Dogs that dont allow others to drink are dangerous to others on hot days, as well as dangerous in regard to causing fights.I know a lot of dogs and owners have fun here, just keep in mind this is not a place of minding dogs and a sense of community. If your dog is timid, they will not have fun here on most days, and be sure to wear your rubber boots.Oh, and bring your own water bowl, apparently.

Ive been taking my dogs here 3-4 times/week. This place is great. It is larger than any of the other dog parks in the area, and certainly more dogs to socialize with. They have three sections: the main area, one strictly for small dogs, and a winter area. The park is well-maintained, and the main area was just completely redone with new grass. Except for winter, they have drinking water available for all the pups. The main area has a walking path around the perimeter for those that wish to exercise. There are no play structures in the main area, which is fine given the huge amount of space for them to run around. The winter area has 3 play structures and a canopy with a few seats for people that dont want to get cold. There are roughly 15 or so parking spots, but you can also park literally on the side just past the park which always has corner spots available. My only gripe would be the ground material used on the winter side. Its small, pebbly rock and Ive found most dogs dont like running around in it, I think because the pebbles get stuck in between their toes and/or sometimes pokes them). I wish they used bark chips, but that would require replacing more often. Its a small thing, really, considering the perks of the place.Enjoy!

This is a good dog park. This park has 3 different areas for your different dog interests. My Australian Shepherds love the agility area. The main park is a little too much for my two country girls. We moved here from MT and they are not use to the quantity of dogs in the main park. Thus why my girls love the agility side of the park. Not as many dogs.

Lots of room for dogs to frolic and humans to admire their furry family members. I like the great big all-dog part with grass, park benches and an oval-ish walking track where you can keep an eye on Fido, the small-dog section and the sand part for winter (a must in the Great Northwest!). One of the better dog parks Ive been to. The winter side is open as of this writing (mid-October) and water is available via rain-collection drums near the entrance. The winter side is not grass, its small gravel, but it didnt seem to bother any of the dogs at all, and its definitely better than a mud-pits, which is what a grass pen would be after a few days of PacNW rain. :) I didnt walk it off but if I had to estimate, the winter pen is about 100 feet side by about 300 deep. Plenty of room for lots of dogs (and there were about 40 there, of all sizes, on a sunny October Saturday afternoon) to run and mingle. The winter pen is an all-in-one affair, there are no separate areas for smaller or younger dogs.

We took our two Golden Doodles here for the first time, they are 4 months old. All sizes of dogs are allowed here. Lots of space and a few obstacle courses are available. The dog park has small gravel for the dogs to run around on. We showed up after a rain shower and it looks like the paws and bellies of other dogs still get dirty even with the gravel. The park has two benches inside the fenced off area one of which is covered which could keep you dry from any rain showers passing by. We will come back as soon as are pups are a little more grown as they are not used to so many dogs all at once. Nice place.

We took our two smaller dogs for a romp during the summer and found this a welcome venue, fun to visit with the other owners and a comfortable place for our one shy, one gregarious dogs to explore and mingle. There is an area for smaller dogs and a larger one for big dogs. Later in the fall we tried again and found the place a muddy mess. The dogs still enjoyed it, but it was a lot of work for us having to bathe them both when we got home. Im not up on the exact schedule, but understand the separate areas arent maintained through the winter, but well head back again for sure next summer.

Park is great and love the area. One muddy patch thats very very appealing to the doggies. I have this 2 stars because the people are the worsttttt ... I saw 3 dog fights and one led to a hospital visit. Thank goodness it wasnt mine, but some owners just lets their aggressive dogs go. One couple said thats how he plays - Im sorry if you have to say that - they should not be on a dog park. If your child was yelling screaming and jumping on other kids who are all playing nicely, it wouldnt be okay either. Aggression is not allowed. There is an agility park next to the grass area...go there...no one is hardly ever there.

Review №67

This is the best maintained dog park Ive found in Portland, and Ive been to quite a few. It seems like it might be well maintained because its adjacent to the Hillsboro Hops Stadium (maybe they fund it?) Park is huge, with a walking loop and big hill in the middle to look out over the land far and wide, but plenty of pockets to tuck yourself away from the hustle and bustle in the middle. Theres a separate small dog area, and wintertime area. The one thing that may not make this a great park for every dog is that it can get very busy at times, and the energy of so many dogs together can at times become a bit unpredictable. This is the busiest dog park Ive ever been to, but it also depends on the time of day you go. Theres less of that feel of seeing familiar dogs you get in smaller dog parks, even with repeated visits.

I visited recently for the first time and my experience was a good one. The people there that day were nice and there was a good variety of dog breeds. I went at around 2:30pm on a Thursday and there were about 5 other dogs. By the time I left about 45 minutes later there were about 16 other dogs. Only the winter area was open which meant the off-leash play was for all sizes and ages. Also, its just a portion of the larger landscaped area (and separate play areas) available in spring and summer and has gravel on the ground instead of grass. That was fine because because of the recent rainy weather, it meant that the dogs werent playing in mud but instead a well drained play area. I came away with a happy and tired dog.

But sometimes finding parking is difficult. It can get a bit too chaotic with so many dogs in one large open place.
