This is a great park to visit. We went to check out the splash pad and it is beautiful. Ample shade for the gown ups and a huge water environment for the kids to explore. The splash area is not big on action (no slides, no big features), but it is big and lots to interact with. I thought the water was a bit warm, but it was like 102 most of the day, so what are you going to do, and the kid thought it was perfect. The adjacent playground seemed very new and it is quite nice. Has its own shade structures which is a big plus for usability. There is a nice selection of percussion instruments installed for making some noise. The 8 note steel drum is pretty sweet. Theres also a lawn checkerboard under a shade sail, so gather up 32 kids and have a match. The other amenities looked amazing from a distance, like the pavilion and the Red Barn and the paved trails. We did not explore them, so theyll just get a mention here. The non lawn landscaping seemed to be largely native plants and designed to prevent runoff from the parking lot and other solid surfaces. A great mix of flowers and shrubs.A beautiful park that looks very new and fresh and is a lovely place to while away an afternoon.

Love Love this park! Lots to explore! Grills and picnic areas are so clean and so nice! The pond is beautiful, crossing the long lit bridge over the lake from the south is beautiful! The playgrounds, restrooms and splash area are super clean and well maintained. The plants and grassy areas are so nice! Plenty of room to social distance. Great atmosphere!

Great park, very well maintained. They have soccer fields, baseball, and an aquatic center. As well as a track for walks and runs. Best part that makes this place really stand out is the open library where people can borrow books to read on amazing days.

This place would be 5 stars. Why give it 4 you ask? It has plastic grass, which has its benefits (hypoallergenic, less/no mud, etc) but it gets so hot that your feet BURN. And this is Texas. Everything burns. So be prepared to bring shoes that can get wet so youre not burning your feet. Be prepared to have fun with your kiddos, have a picnic under one of the many shaded areas or play at the mostly shaded playground. This splash park is worth the visit for sure!!

Had a good bike ride around the loop here. Large, pretty park with a pond and a bridge out over the lake. I think they have a splash pad for kids in the summer. Saw some people fishing. Might be better if they had paddle boats. Too much open grass area, too much mowing in my opinion. One spot had wildflowers. Squeaky clean.

This place is so cool. The artificial turf is really nice. There are some shady spots but not many. The splash zones are suitable for all ages. Even my 11 month old was having fun. This was his second time going. Last year he was 3 months and he had fun. I would recommend having the little ones wear water shoes or non slip sandals. This really helped my 2 year old not fall down as much. There is a long bike path and very very nice pavilions to have a picnic or a BBQ. They even have grills. Bring your fishing poles and walk over to the lake. Huge grassy area for having fun. The restroom is very clean.

Love this place! It’s free to get in and the kids have so much fun. Even when there are a ton of children, the place never seems “full.” Love the umbrellas they have added for shade. Also it’s fake grass so no mud grass stains! Only complaint would be that we wish they opened at 9am instead of 10am with this crazy Texas heat!

My family and I visited Doubletree Ranch Park to listen to a summer concert by Infinite Journey, a cover band for Journey. This was our first visit to this park and we were impressed with the size, quality, and cleanliness of the entire park. The splash pad was filled (but not crowded) with happy, laughing children and the open grass fields were speckled with people of all ages playing tag, volleyball, soccer, and laying on the lawn. What a great place to be!

I absolutely adore be whole park. It has something for everyone of all ages. A beautiful view of a fountain in a surrounded partially shaded very long trail. With a beautiful bridge that overlooks the pond. As well as shaded picnic benches, barbecue grills, and the biggest draw the splash pad. Which is all free. They did a wonderful job on the restrooms and the huge, covered, with fans out door auditorium. It is very beautiful and my family and I will spend many hours enjoying this beautiful park.

We have come here from the first day and always thought it was a true gem. The 2019 summer started dissapointing at RR.... the whole area was dirty, fans were off, cafe closed and somehow they are doing construction( why would they do that during the few weeks the pad is open!?)

Took my granddaughter who is 2.5 to the splash park, the only thing that would have made it better is if the would create some shade...I took her the next day to the Flower mound Heritage splash park and it was smaller but very nice and they had great chairs bolted all around the edge of the park, big Green shades/tarps tastefully done that shaded almost the whole park. Highland Village should go by and check it out and do something similar at our splash park, I know the parents and grandparent would appreciate being able to get out of the sun. Even if the whole splash park is not covered, around the edges and part of it would be nice.

This is the greatest thing HV has put out there for its resident children and parents! My son loves this place and I feel very safe taking him there. Safety was clearly a primary concern in design. BUT it is also so well payed out. You can bring a towel and just lounge around under the shaded faux grass areas with great visibility of your kiddos.
