Although small, this museum is wonderful. It is well taken care of, the staff are very friendly, and the exhibits are well done and detailed. They even have a few historical buildings on the property. Its free admission, so give it a visit! (If you play Pokémon Go, there are two gyms and pokéstops around the historical buildings.)

We had a great visit this afternoon at the High Point Museum - lots of interesting exhibits, artifacts and information! The small, historic park adjacent to the museum has renovated or reconstructed colonial architecture filled with period pieces which “come to life” through staff interpreters on weekends. The museum itself houses amazing exhibits which showcase the history of the area as well as the community’s roots in the furniture business known in the region. Visitors with children will be amazed with the room of miniature vignette displays created by a local artisan who generously donated her work for the public to enjoy. Check it out - you’ll be glad you did!

We got a chance to stop by the museum on Saturday and we had an absolute blast! The museum is smaller, but what they do have is exceptional. We got to learn all about High Points furniture industry and its general history. The area outside is also very nice and historical. The staff is also very friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend this museum to anyone who is in the area.

I was pleasantly surprise! When one goes to a free museum its often a closet with a skull and an couple of rocks. This was really lovely! It seems to be well maintained and shares the history of the small community of High Point and the surrounding areas. One of the exhibit stops we spent a significant time in what the miniature displays. Thanks so much for keeping this wonderful museum free!

I love how the reenactors allow you to be a part of the history in such an exciting and informative manner. My family and I are so curious to learn more after meeting the ladies who spin wool into yarn and cook on cast iron over fire, and the blacksmith who can even make a delicate rose using metal, fire, and a hammer. What amazing people and interesting history!

This is a wonderful museum: nicely arranged, there are interesting inscriptions of the exhibits telling about local history. I especially like the miniatures made by Ms. Michener - absolutely fantastic display. There is a special department telling about furniture industry in the area. The place is clean and neat, and the volunteers working there are extremely friendly and helpful. The Museum souvenir store is small, but impressive. We bought there some costume jewelry made by the volunteers with a lot of taste (and also quite inexpensive). A lot of positive emotions after the visit.
