I ABSOLUTELY love this park. Its Prefect for family time, nature walks, and picnics. If you want to get some excerise or walk the dogs you can walk the trails, or just sit by pound and enjoy a picnic barbeque with your family or a date. Theres plenty of swing sets for the little ones to play on. I was able to get some amazing pictures because its so beautiful! This will be one of my Hickory favorites!

Great place to bring dogs! But please make sure that the dog you bring is human and dog friendly there tend to be a good amount of people and often times theres a few dogs, great place for kids too! There are a couple of playgrounds, areas to go fishing, places to feed geese and some kind of game I think is called flying golf or something? Anyway great place to go if your bored and just want to get out of the house!

Glenn Hilton is a fun little park, great for family outing on a nice day. Only negative things I would have to say is they need to update their bathrooms. And recently the ducks havent been out lately near the feeding area not sure if fisherman or hunters would be the cause of that. Also the zip line definitely needs matiance of some kind just doesnt work like it should always stops half way no matter the age, weight, or size of a person. They have plenty of hiking trails, 2 different areas where the kids can play.

Great place hidden in Hickory, nice pathways and a peaceful walking deck around and through the greenway. Fishing is also possible as long as you have a NC fishing license. So go have lunch or explore for the afternoon like my wife and I did, you wont be disappointed

We enjoy this park for all it has to offer. Playgrounds, walking trails, boardwalk, water access, green space for picnics. The boardwalk could use some improvements especially at the duck food station. The horizontal posts are not adequate for the safety of young children. Boardwalk can get very slick after rains and a lot of trash collects in the trees.

I love this park. I first went here in college, we picked up trash and planted trees. Now I take my son here. He loves nature and seeing the ducks, geese, beavers, etc. Its experienced a lot of overgrowth and damage from the storms but there is so much beauty still there. Lots of playgrounds and area to run around.

This is a wonderful place to spend time. There is a very nice disc golf course, playground, and place to walk. There are a wide variety of birds and other wildlife you can find on a typical day. Ive seen turtles running around the size of dinner plates, large frogs, and beautiful Cranes, Ducks, and Geese. There is a boardwalk that takes you on a tour through the wetlands area, and is a great place to teach your kids how to fish. The park provides food to feed the ducks and geese, so bring quarters for the kids and have fun watching all the birds flock to you. (Please dont feed them bread)The park is also great for exercise, the biggest loop around totals 1.7 Miles and includes some awesome terrain and elevation change that makes it feel like you are hiking. Youll find for much of the trail Nature swallows you and you are protected from the sun by the green canopy above. There is an area where you can access the creek and let your pup run around in the water which is a great break on the hot days. The only downsides is many people seem to smoke cigarettes that come to this park, and that can stink. People also seem to ignore the sign pointing out that there is a leash law.All in all, I would recommend this place as a great place to spend an afternoon with the family enjoying nature.

Was at the Hickory Museum of Art and came here to eat lunch. Tried to walk their Greenway, but could not find too well as my wife and I wound up in some neighborhood with very confusing Greenway signs. Recommended if you want to eat lunch in nature. Not recommended to walk without maps which we could not find.

This is a larger park than it looks. There are several great kids playgrounds, level walking trails, a raised boardwalk trail through the woods and along the creek, and what looks like a challenging free disk golf course. There are numerous covered picnic areas around the park with grills, which makes it a great place during the pandemic to take a picnic lunch or dinner and still maintain social distancing. Although some of the trails are in danger of cudzu takeover, I am greatful for such nice public areas in Hickory.

A decent place to walk, but the stream on the backend of the boardwalk is pitiful. It used to have a healthy current, providing a clean environment for all sorts of wildlife. Now the water is stagnant and filthy. No ducks or anything in sight.

Unfortunately today June 28, 2020 the playgrounds were closed due to Covid19. The boardwalk through the natural area is closed for repairs. Still a stroll though open areas taking in the fragrance of the blooming mimosas and crepe myrtles was worth the trip. A yoga class was in progress on the lawn When everything reopens again I highly recommend this park!

Went for a Sunday afternoon walk in the park. It was fairly busy for a Sunday afternoon, with people seeming to enjoying all aspects of the park. We enjoyed the paved walking path as well as the wooden walkway and bridges that went into the wooded area. I would have to say that the wooden walking area was a bit worn and weathered, and the grounds and water were littered with trash which was sad to see. We then made our way over to the childrens play area, which I would consider a hazard. Many parts of the play area had either been broken or contained areas of rusted metal. Definitely a hazard that should be addressed. Decided to finish our walk up to the parking lot and again noticed that around the frisbee golf areas people had chosen to leave trash everywhere instead of putting it into the receptacle 2 feet away. Another disappointing aspect of the park is that it is clearly labeled as a non smoking park, and we came across multiple offenders. All in all, I would say to skip this place if you arent up to date on your tetanus shot, you dont enjoying breathing in secondhand smoke, and dont want to walk through a trash heap.

Lovely, sprawling park with lots of paved trails, suitable for biking or scooting or strollers. There are 3 different playground areas--1 is tucked away past the main entrance. This gives options for different ages. There are plenty of places to fish or get in the creek as well. My only complaint is the lack of shade where the swings are, making the one area suitable for a baby completely unusable. Also, be careful with creek and have little ones wear water shoes, as I have found sharp objects (including a needle) in the creek bed. This is not a comment applicable to just this park, and would be common sense for any public creek play, I hope.

The park is in bad shape. Ive been going there many years and never seen it like this. The walkway down to the decking where ppl fish and feel the ducks is so pitiful. The had a couple major storms but the waterway is at a standstill. There is a thick oil looking film ontop the water. So sad for the wildlife there. Yesterday I saw many turtles, baby ducks, a beaver and a crane. Made me want to cry at the water they are living in and eating out of. I wish the city of Hickory could clear the waterway so it could flow and give these beautiful things a safe place to live.
