They have made it super easy to social distance and if you get your tickets online super fast. Just pick them up or scan your phone when you get there. If you place your order for food or drink online they have everything ready to pick-up when you get there. So almost zero wait time. I use the app or website and no issues.

The “premiere” line is ridiculous. The majority of the people in that line are not premiere members. I waited over 20 minutes just to buy my tickets yesterday. The workers would call for “premiere” members and nobody even knew what that was. You need better signage so people actually know where to go. The AMC locations in Charlotte do not have a problem with non-premiere members cutting line in front of people standing there for over 20 minutes. You also need to alternate. Not all 3 registers need to take premiere guests. It’s not fair to others waiting their turn and we ended up missing most of the previews.

Stood in line for over 30 minutes while two people at the ticket and snack area had no pep in their step, took their time to do every little thing. Its absolutely ridiculous to have to wait this long, if they were actually trying to get people through as fast as they could that would be different but they have no interest in getting this line down fast so everyone can go to their movie. Something needs to be done. If my crew can push drive through times down to 1.5 minutes per car most days then they should be able to handle this easily.

Not a bad theater if you want to wear a winter coat while watching your movie. I dont know if they are trying to save money by not turning on the heat for earlier shows or if the heat was broken my last 2 visits. The chairs and screen are not top notch but I kinda like the 80s feel. Staff is friendly and the popcorn always seems fresh. Get that heat working AMC.

Sat through so many ads. It got late and when the movies was less than halfway over...I wanted some popcorn... they were already closed. Seriously...the movie was not even halfway and they closed. I will consider other options in the future.

We were concerned when we arrived that we wouldnt get our tickets in time to see the movie because they only sell tickets at the snack bar and the line was very long; a terrible system. We ended up just buying them online while sitting in the line inside the theatre lobby, and then bypassing the wait. Once inside the theatre itself, it was a good experience.

Love the app! I can purchase tickets ahead of time and pick my seats then skip the lines. But if you want popcorn/drinks, you have to get in line. AMC should have a separate line just for concessions if you bought your tickets on their app. The line was so long that we didnt buy any popcorn/drinks so they lost out on another $30.

This is the go to theater in my area and it’s usually kept pretty clean. The problem I consistently have here is that corporate majorly understaffs the place, and not all the employees are educated on the rewards plans and policies. The experience here would be greatly improved if time was taken to train the employees further and to have both sides of the theater open, especially during large opening nights or movie weekends.

Ive never experienced a more inefficient cue in my life, yall. Theres no outside ticket teller, as folks have come accustomed to having. My assumption is they do this so that youre forced to purchase their A stubs (or whatever its called) which has as a perk the ability to skip the line. Make sure you arrive plenty early because youre going to need it to stand in the long and inefficient cue--if theres a wait.

I agree with the other comment about the need for signage. I walked through the maze to get up to the counter to buy my ticket, though I was the only one in line at the time,, and waited at the front of the line for a few minutes, not really knowing if I was supposed to wait there or get in line behind the group at the counter. I moved up to the group ahead of me at the counter, and when they left the employee told me I had to go back and get in line, and that I had broken in line! At that point we left. The lobby was very dirty as well. From now on we will wait until what we want to see is on at the Carolina Theatre, where you are treated respectfully and even thanked for coming.

Just got out of movie- saw Captain Marvel at 7:15pm. Had to wait in line for over 20 minutes AND WE HAD ORDERED TICKETS ONLINE! Because there is ONE line for everyone - whether you have tickets already or are buying them on site. Chic at concessions was not friendly and was rather impatient. Young lady taking our tickets was nice but she was talking into a headset at the same time she was talking to us and we had no idea if she was addressing us or the person on the other end of the headset. The floor was filthy. Overall, not a great experience. So glad we didnt pay full price for tickets. And dont even get me started on having to pick your seats out when you order! If AMC is going to make me pick my seat, then have someone in the blessed theater to make sure everyone is in their correct seat and not taking mine. Specifically bought tickets so my kids could sit behind us and someone was in their seat! Another theater managed better could run this place out of business.

Nice place. good seating and overall theatre experience. theatre 10 has had a messed up projector for a long time which takes away from the movie experience, all of the other theatres to my knowledge are fine. employees for the most part are very nice and helpful, eccept for one lady who is consistently rude. could use better management.

Been here a dozen or so times, but no more. If you want a realtime representation of why people dont go to movies anymore this is it. We stood in line for 20 minutes for tickets and drinks. They have 2 lines... One for their loyalty program and one for everyone else. If you dont pay extra for the loyalty program, plan to show up 30 minutes early. Paid $65 for two adults and one child, a small popcorn and three small sodas at a matinee. Made it to the theater after way to long and it was about 50 degrees. Wife went to check what was up and we were told that the heat was out (30-degrees in January 2020) and that the ticket/food/drink person was supposed to tell us. Everyone behind the counter acted like they didnt want to be there. Everyone on the paying side was annoyed. Bottom line, dont waste you time and money... wait for it to come out on Netflix or go elsewhere. We go to theaters all over the country, but never this one again.

I do love this place I just hate how much everything costs. Tickets, food, snacks, drinks, etc. But they are reasonable and on par with all movie theatres in terms of prices, so its not a knock to this theatre, just in general the overall price is a lot. Staff here were friendly and helpful. The theatre was clean and comfortable. What I expect from a theatre.

Not happy with the concession situation. There is very little customer service. All service is transacted from one line. I went to see a 2:35 show, came out to get a snack at 3:10 when the queue for Star Wars was being let through. Line was back to the door. Was told if I wanted a snack Id have to go to the end of the line. Had I done that I would have missed about twenty minutes of my movie. They have an identical service area on the other side of the building. When asked if they planned to open it the worker said he thought it hadnt been operated in years. Shoddy! That is not satisfactory.

The most disrespectful group of employees with whom i have ever had the displeasure of interacting!For those who are visiting this theater for the first time, signage would be a nice thing for explaining the system for buying tickets and concessions.Getting accused by the staff of breaking line in front of a long line of people was a terrible embarrassment and very disrespectful! It even incited other patrons to act the same way.Had we not already purchased our tickets online, we would have left.We will not be back and will spread the word far and wide, there are far better theaters to attend than this one.

Had some trouble with ticket purchases online. We got no confirmation for our tickets, so we had trouble when we had to change our plans. Movies have become so expensive, its kind of ridiculous honestly. But hey the theater was clean and comfortable and the movie was good (zombieland 2 double tap). The candy surprisingly didnt taste stale. Popcorn was good but quite salty.. almost used all drink by the end of the movie - for extra thirsty drinkers you may have to get a refill during the movie.

Absolutely horrible experience. We stood in line forever because they do not have enough staff so we were late getting into our movie. They made us pick assigned seating and wasn’t even able to sit with the people I went with. There was food and trash all over the already sticky floors. The locks on the bathroom stalls do not work nor did they have toilet paper in the stalls. They should be ashamed charging the prices they charge and then having the theater in the shape it is. Poor management clearly. Will not go back.

The lady that took my ticket was very rude... we had arrived a bit early and all she had to tell us was it was not ready... but instead she told us in a rude manner the theatre is NOT ready! And told us where to sit and called it “time out” I think it was extremely disrespectful, because as how nice this theatre is, you expect better manners from the workers..not only was she rude to us but to others.. this should be taken care of or more complaints will for sure come to this place.

AMC hickory has great quality screens/theaters. Its clean for the most part, and the seating is comfortable. Thats about all it has going for it. You must now have assigned seating (you choose upon purchasing tickets). The theater seems to be severely understaffed every time we visit we are greeted with long lines and not enough staff to keep up. Even on week nights. For such a busy theater that is obviously equipped to handle larger crowds. It performs poorly in the area of staffing. Its basically on par with Walmart having 20 registers but only having 3 open at a time. We only visit this AMC when we are desperate because of its convenient location. 9 times out of 10, we travel out of the way to go to the AMC classic in Lincolnton just to avoid dealing with the lines, be able to sit where we want, be welcomed by more pleasant employees, and the prices used to be a little bit cheaper, (Not sure if they still are). I never recommend this theater to anyone. I always recommend the theater in Lincolnton.

Went to the theater to pick up a 2020 bucket of popcorn and got in line, was probably 10 people in front of me. After waiting for at least 25 minutes with about at least 10p people in line before the line even moved. There was 4 workers but they kept taking the line of about 5 people constant called the Premiere Line. You would think they would at least alternate lines calling people but as soon as a person was called from the Premiere line another would show up in that line. Piss poor management is the way I see that. I saw several people leave because even though they were in line in plenty of time to catch their movie, they were going to miss the front of the movie. RIDICULOUS!!!!

This theater has changed so much in the past few years. It was so trashy everywhere in the lobby, bathroom, very messy.The way management sells tickets with refreshments is not very efficient. Waited in line 20 minutes just to buy a ticket then had to choose a seat, then after paying a very high price for everything had to fix my own drink. Not enough people working there to move things along smoothly. This new theater has several refreshment areas in it but never has used them. It’s a shame it’s the only place to see a movie in Hickory except the Carolina. I will be going there from now on.

Used to come to this theatre all the time when the kids were younger with many good memories of seeing series of movies such as Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter. I now have access to a marvelous theatre the Marquee 7 in Morganton. I recently went back to the AMC Hickory 15 to see a movie that had left my usual theatre, what a shock in the changes. Long single line, only one side open, I have to pick my seats? Forget getting a refill on popcorn as have to go through same long line again. I will have to think long and hard before I ever consider coming back.

I have been to this AMC a lot and the whole system is broken to the point of no return . If you come you need to be here one hour before the movie starts or you not get a set or will miss the first part of the movie .I work out of town and when I am in town I like to have time with the family. But it not fun getting there standing in line for 45 mins getting to the counter and finding out that the movie only has a couple of seats let or sold out all this could be bypassed with some help when you have a large AMC it seems that they can get more help or open a closed side bad manager and not run for the movie goer I just wish you luck on this place and bewareIf I could have givena lower star I would have

This was the second time I had a demeaning experience at this location. On both occasions the older woman who takes the tickets had an attitude of wanting to humiliate the guests in her own special way. Last time it was preventing everyone from going back to the theater section so that a long line formed in the front and people were getting tired and upset from standing there for no reason. I finally spoke to someone in the concessions and a manager came out and told her to let people through. On this second visit to watch Downton Abbey, the same person just had to make a condescending wisecrack when she took our tickets that we were going to girls movie. I happen to be a dude and under no circumstances is it appropriate for this character to offer her views on visitors movie choices. We humans encounter bullies in many aspects of life but Im wondering if the persistence of this unfriendly behavior here reflects a general attitude of contempt for patrons on the part of the Hickory AMC management. It seemed like the crew behind the counter this time not only went out of their way to serve the members but also to inconvenience non members by having more open lanes for members even though the non member line was much longer. The movie business has been shrinking for years and cinemas cant afford to allienate that dwindling portion of the public who are still willing to pay to see a movie on the big screen. This time business was slow for a Saturday and much slower than the previous Saturday when I visited over year ago. I personally doubt I will return to this unit in the future.

Its really gotten dirty lately. Usually popcorn on the floors in the hallways. Lines get backed up and the only way to get tickets is to go online and pay extra for convenience. People were speaking in our auditorium and the associates came to check on it but they didnt do anything to the 4 kids talking. My wife couldnt hear or pay attention to the movie. Also, fix that pothole out front; its the size of lake norman at this point. It is difficult to see, especially in the twin andnit about wrecked my car. Ive seen it there for months now.

Fire everyone and just start over. They have the rudest female with a nose piercing working the concession. Gave me attitude the whole time and all I had was a simple question. Then old lady taking tickets tells me they don’t have heat in the theater AFTER I already paid for my tickets and that I better have a blanket because they don’t offer refunds? The line usually moves pretty good. Popcorn is always hot and food tastes good. I think they should be a little more organized when it comes to people who have the stubs premiere membership. Since it’s a paid membership, I feel like it’s overlooked there. Otherwise it’s mostly clean and staff is friendly. It’s a good theater.

I used to like this theater but it had been a while since Id been here. I went to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I paid $10 for one adult to be put in a musty old theater in the furthest corner. The seats smelled and sank down from being warn out. As a matter of fact the entire theater had a damp musty smell. But my first impression was how small the screen is. I know its not IMAX but this screen is still much smaller than a normal screen. I paid a premium price for a very sub-par experience. Its a shame considering this is an AMC theater. I wont bother returning here. There are other theaters that are more reasonably priced with much better facilities.

The concessions area was a MESS. Straws, popcorn, spilled drink... I worked at a theater where we had $1 movie night (so you know the crowd) never the level of mess that was here. This is a big, impressive theater. Even has the special Dolby theater with a gigantic screen and comfy chairs and a unique seating arrangement where you cant see people in the rows in front or behind you. Recently changed to picking the seats you want at purchase. Im not sure I like this option better, though, because its hard to judge what the depth perception will be like. But, would be nice for buying and planning in advance online so you dont have to worry about getting lousy seats when you get there. 4 out of 5 stars because of price. Heaven forbid youd like a snack with you tickets. Youre out $50 easily for two people.

Our seats were broken (when you sat down the bottom fell out and you were sitting on metal), so we moved over as most of the theatre was empty. Unfortunately, when I got up I realized that new seat was covered in wet chewing gum which had been left behind and not cleaned, ruining the pants I was wearing. Staff were friendly and helpful, but overall cleanliness and upkeep left much to be desired.

This theatre needs to take some ques from Marcus Theatres. Get the self serve ticket kiosk fixed and add like 4 more, have one line for tickets only, and hire enough staff to keep at least the front floor area clean. Ive been to other AMCs were I think the system design is off, but not one that has felt so dirty and disgusting in the main lobby. Only saving grace is how nice the employees are at this theatre. I get the priority lanes, but even the priority people are complaining about the wait. Weve walked in and left multiple times after assessing what the wait time would be.

Lines are terrible, even in off peak times due to the broken express lane system. I stood in the regular line with only 3 customers ahead of me for just under 30 minutes. It also seems many express lane customers choose the line because they dont know there are separate lines, but they still get priority service. Sending them to the back of the line would cause conflicts, so what else can the employees do but serve them. But it leaves everyone who follows the rules waiting for ridiculous amounts of time. Should we all just accidentally get in the express lane too? Find a way to fix it or get rid of it.Also the screen in theater 12 has a large stain. And it has been there for months, since I saw Aquaman at least. When I saw the theater number today I thought about asking to change to a different showing, but I thought it must surely be fixed by now. Plus all those law abiding regular line folks behind me had been waiting FOREVER too, so we just took a chance and.....still stained. For $10.99 a ticket I expect better.I begrudgingly award you 3 stars because your employees are friendly, you always have every movie, and the Big D is awesome. But I go FAR less often than I used to and sometimes drive an extra 40 minutes to see movies in a better theater.

If I could, I would give this ZERO stars. This is the most ridiculously awful theater I’ve ever been to. The website advertises food will be delivered to your seat if you order from the app. False. The ticket line is out the door, no problem, we bought online right? Sure but if you want popcorn or any other snacks? You get to take your happy behind to the back of the ticket line! Seriously??? And if that’s not annoying enough, there’s a second ticket & refreshments together counter that is never open. And then you have mini refreshment counters past the ticket taker...but they’re all vacant too so... So thanks for ruining our theater experience. We will NOT be returning. I’m not standing in line for an hour for popcorn. And a movie isn’t a movie without popcorn. Worst movie experience ever.

This is the worst experience I have ever had at any amc location I have been to. I am a member of the a list stubs member and go to at least one if not more weekly! The staff was very unprofessional but multiple things went wrong. First I was given an expired cookie that was past the date on their best buy sticker! When we bought it up we were told this was all the cookies they had. But when I brought up the quality of my chicken tenders meal they said it is how all locations do it. I had 3 only bread tenders that were the size of chicken nuggets. All other locations I have been to have been full sized without a problem. They used my points off my card without asking. After the movie we talked to the manager who didnt seem to care to talk to us. All in all I will NOT ever be going back.

One of rudeness of people. A group of people talking and on their cell phone, at the start of the movie. I made a complaint. The staff came in and looked around. I guess talking doesnt mean much to certain raises.I guess Imagination needs to go to the movies. Then they wont talk as much.Just saying.

Friendly, fun, expensive. Cant get too enthusiastic and I cant get too pessimistic. Its a movie theater in the 21st century. What should one expect?

Upset, went on a Tues expecting to be a special but no it was going to cost 35.00 so we turned around drove back home which was a 30 min. drive

It is always nice there but today it was so cold in theater 6 that a lot of people were going in and out to get their jackets and complained to the manager. I noticed the temperature as soon as we walked in.
