Absolutely amazing time. I have been here twice so far and the staff is very friendly and makes sure the game moved along at a good pace. The rooms are built very well with interesting themes and fun puzzles. The game managers make sure to help you along if you need it and to keep the room interesting for you. Omer the owner and the staff even helped me plan my proposal there! It was a great time and I cannot recommend this place enough.

Absolutely loved The Mystery of Room 213. Three of us went Friday evening and had a blast. Very captivating room and intricate puzzles/design. Staff was really nice. Unfortunately, we did not get the name of our gamemaster that night, but he was awesome as well! This has to be by far one of the best escape rooms in all of NOVA. We cant wait to go back.

My family and I had an incredible experience solving the Mystery of Room 213! Staff is super friendly and accommodating. I definitely recommend this place / activity for family, friends, or date nights!

My 3 kids (ages 14, 12, and 8) love escape rooms, and its been one of the few covid activities we feel comfortable doing. We have done about 20 now, and Escape Room Herndon is by FAR our favorite. We drive an hour to their location and its 100% worth it. The staff is super fun, and clearly love their jobs. The rooms are so well thought out and creative.

My friend and I did room 213 which was a spooky mystery. We had a great laugh and the staff was super nice. They explained everything very well and the room had a great concept.

Escape room herndon is BY FAR the best escape room in the area. Weve played over 250 games and the 8 bit room is in our top 5! If youre looking for something to do in the area its absolutely worth it!

I am not sure if it was because we came for the last booking but the person who showed us around did not seem cheery or interested, more so excited for us to leave. Not a bad room, I liked the clues as well the way it was designed, but I have been to the RVA location and it was much better. Or at least the staff was. The staff at the RVA location was very excited and gave us the feeling that we were real detectives solving the room. We went for my sisters birthday, and were not met with the expectations that I had from the start. Worth the money? Not sure about this location.

Great group here! Take time out to support them and challenge your brain! Loved the rooms and they are also great to do with kids. Each of our girls got to contribute to the solutions and asked to come back. Will certainly return in the future.

These escape rooms are awesome! The level of details are like none Ive seen before! The puzzles and riddles are very tricky - definitely a workout for your mind! The staff and owner are very friendly and do a great job facilitating the sessions. We had an office team building event here and it went just perfectly. We will for sure be back!

We did the maritime room. The room was really solid - it felt like it was built for this location and wasn’t a kit or anything. The puzzles were really clever and really required the cooperation of the whole group. This room contained some of the most clever puzzles I’ve seen in an escape room. I thought the bonus boxes were a great idea - if you manage to escape with enough time left over you get to solve the bonus boxes. Made it feel like good value for the money even if you escape early.

Escape Room Herndon is AMAZING! The staff is wonderful, so helpful, fun and flexible. They are also very community oriented and have partnered with local non profits! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a great time and want to support a business that cares about their community!

Ive done a decent number of escape rooms at this point, and my favorite escape room Ive done so far has been Room 213 at Escape Room Herndon. It was immersive, the puzzles were fun, and the theme was executed beautifully. I also did their Magicians Workshop room and had a lot of fun with that. I will say that between the two rooms, I enjoyed Room 213 more. Both are worth doing, though. I highly recommend this place to escape room newbies and seasoned enthusiasts alike.

My team of two played and beat 8-Bit Escape. I will refrain from any spoilers about the puzzles in the room.The biggest feeling we had while we were in the room and for a while after we left the room in victory was pure joy. This room provided us with good puzzles, some surprise interactions, and an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. I heartily endorse this game and look forward to stopping back at this location to try their other rooms.

My friend and I decided to come give 8 bit Escape a try, as we were looking for a room that challenged us both and I loved the idea of the room. Came in and we were both blown away by the room design, which had us completely immersed the second the door was locked behind us. The puzzles were very well thought out and felt simultaneously rewarding for players who know their 80s pop culture references, but also completely solvable for players who are being introduced to these references for the first time. Beatrice was a great host, who knew when to step in and give help and when to also interact with us to make the game more fun. Overall, one of the best escape experiences I have ever had, and one I will be recommending to as many people as possible.

Fun time for all! Did the Last Hope room and it was amazing in its design and immersion factor. The puzzles were more find and enter the code rather than unique puzzles but they were well thought out. Very professional looking decor throughout the space...even the bathroom carried theming! Lots of props to make the group photo fun! Definitely going back!

$28 during open hour or you can book group rates around $40 per person for private events. First time doing an escape room and really enjoyed it. If you get stuck you can get hints to move it along. Staff was friendly and fun, would go back. They also have a lounge area to wait with water, soda, and snacks.

This was a first-time for my wife and I in trying an escape room. We have talked about it for ages and gave it a try for our valentines weekend. Holy moly was it a blast as I had no idea what the concept behind the rooms was all about. I am glad that we paired up with a couple that had experience with the process as it was like being dropped on an island and you had to figure out what to do. Within seconds of observing the other couple looking for clues, we set out to do the same. There were all kinds of puzzles to figure out and it really was good for the mind to throw creativity and imagination into overdrive. If you have not been to an Escape Room, do it ASAP as it is a totally fun experience and tests the limits of your thinking. It was also fun to meet other people and see how they work through things. All four of us made a great team as it was all about the mission of escaping, which we did.

Very challenging and exciting rooms! Staff is wonderful and friendly. We wanted to try a new place so we chose Herndon. Our first room was today (Room 213–Which is AMAZING btw), and we’re headed back tomorrow for another room! Highly recommend them!!! We love how there were so many different pieces to solve. ERH is definitely a great venue to go to!

Really good fun. We did Room 213 with a 9 and 12 year old - some parts were borderline too scary for the young one but we all had a great time. Really well done and friendly staff.

Best escape room around. They typically have 3-4 different rooms that you may choose from, each with a different recommended group size and difficulty. You still have one hour per-room, so start with an easy to medium difficulty and then work your way up. They have a one-key-one-lock policy, so theres no need to reuse all the clues and keys; Ive been to escape rooms where there was one key used something like 4 times and it got dumb. Try Maritime Mutiny or 8-Bit Escape if you have the chance!

This is easily one of the best escape rooms I have ever done! We did the Room 213 room and it was fantastic. The room had twists and turns that we couldnt have expected. We were successful in unlocking the mystery and had a blast. I would absolutely recommend this Escape Room venue for anyone who loves puzzles and surprises. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

I planned a trip for my wifes birthday. It was our first time, but we brought along other couples who have done multiple escape rooms before. We had a great time, and our friends indicated that this was the best one they had done. Would definitely recommend!

Ive been twice with my Meetup group and the events are always a hit. We will surely be back again! My friends who have done other escape rooms say the ones here are much better and more fun. We love that the puzzles are challenging, but dont try to confuse you with a bunch of red herrings and useless clues. Everything has a purpose and everyone gets their chance at an aha! moment. I highly recommend Room 213 if you like a creepy vibe.The staff is great too. One of our group, who was planning to join us but hadnt paid yet, arrived quite late, and they let her into the room with us without charging her. They could have made her pay the $28 for just 20 minutes of play, but they didnt and we really appreciated that. It shows that they are more interested in making sure you have a good time than squeezing money out of you. They also had some funny things to say to us over the TV screen in the room.Thank you Escape Room Herndon and keep up the good work!

My absolute favorite venue (tied with Cyber Racoons, except here has multiple rooms) in the entire Virginia/DC area. Ive played the 8 bit room which is a cute room fun for both adults and kids of all experience levels. I also played the Pirate themed room which is just AMAZING. I rate it was my #2 favorite room out of the 130ish rooms Ive done. Looking forward to visiting VA again to play the other 2 rooms. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Great place that tolerants of spastic kids. ;) We had a fun time in the pirate room onve the kids got organized and will try the other rooms soon! There was plenty of parking and the place was decorated nicely, with puzzles all around to enjoy while you waited.

Weve been to a dozen or more escape rooms and Escape Room Herndon is by far the BEST. From the moment your walk into the room you are transported into that historical time period and scenario. They really pay attention to detail and make it all seem so real. Their puzzles are awesome and often surprising...trap doors, moving walls...so many cool features. We plan to go back over and over to do every room they offer.

Escape Room Herndon is fantastic! My coworkers and I are avid escape roomers and have tried various escape rooms across Northern Virginia. We can say with certainly that Escape Room Herndon is the real deal! Not a single detail was left out when planning the escape rooms. The puzzles were challenging but very fun, the decor was on point for the theme of the room, and even the audio/visuals were excellent! The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. 5-stars all around!

Easily the best escape rooms around. Hands down. We sent some escape room loving adventurers to the 8-bit room here and they agreed that it is incredibly cool. If you havent done it you are missing out. Also, Omer and the team went above and beyond to make sure our adventurers had the very best experience.

Ive done 15+ escape rooms, and 8-Bit is by far one of the best. Every experience Ive had with Ravenchase Adventures, both in Richmond and Arlington, has been so amazing that we decided to travel to try out this location, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. I would recommend 8-Bit Escape to everyone, and I will definitely be back to try out their other rooms.

I have been to several rooms here. This time we did the 8 Bit room. Our group managed to beat the clock, because my kids are Gamers. It is always fun to do a room here and work together to beat the clock. This room was not as hard as some- but still entertaining. I do love the way that they make the rooms so true to the time period they are portraying. Check it out!

They are very well designed and thoughtful, and have excellent themes woven throughout each room. You even get a special pin for each room you win and a bonus pin if you complete all the rooms. Our reservations always started on time and the staff was friendly. We even had one room (the 8-Bit) we completed with 15 min to spare so they gave us a bonus box to complete and we got a special prize to keep. Our favorite rooms were the 8-Bit Escape and Mystery of Room 213. Great place!P.s. make sure to play room 213 before they close it for the next room!

We wanted to do a team building night for our office and this was the perfect thing! The whole team was incredibly accommodating and made sure we had all the information we needed. The rooms were AWESOME. Some of us had done escape rooms before and these ones blew them away! Highly recommend and cant wait to go back.

Great personality, good sense of humor while giving clues -- you can tell that theyre having fun with it too.Well definitely be going again to try one of the other rooms. So much fun!

Awesome! We did this for my sons 15th birthday. He invited a small group of friends, all of whom had done escape rooms before, and they all agreed this is one of the best. Our host Philip was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. He let the boys work out the clues on their own and only offered hints when they really needed them. The facility was clean and comfortable - I waited in the lobby area while the guys did the room - and well decorated. I highly recommend Escape Room Herndon!

Loved the 8 bit room! Wanted to spend another hour just geeking out on the nostalgic items but was challenging enough to have to focus...very cool and I wish I could do it again!

First escape room experience and I am pretty sure this set the bar beyond high! The experience was excellent. The room was so well decorated and well done. It was really challenging for a 7/10 in comparison to another experience at a different brand. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I intend to go back today, which is less than 48 hours after we went for the first time. We did the 8-bit room the first time and had an absolute blast!

Did the last hope with the family. Only two people had ever done escape room and it was very fun for us- all ages. We solved some of the puzzles but never escaped. Definitely want to go back again. The place is very clean with a nice lounge area and the people working there are super nice and everything was on schedule. Perfect experience! Thx

We’re fans of RVA rooms and decided to do 8-bit while passing through DC on a road trip. Many thanks to the staff for accommodating us early and helping us get back on the road!The room itself was great and lived up to RVA’s high standards for quality, theming, and most of all fun. I wish more companies could produce rooms like RVA.

This place is incredible! Went on a double date with 2 friends and decided to do an Escape Room for the first time. Escape Room Herndon was amazing! We did Room 213 and finished with a minute to go. Our game manage was awesome really helped get us into the experience. He also gave us the perfect amount of help on clues. The room was AMAZING. It felt very realistic and the clues were a great mix of different types of puzzles. We will definitely be coming back and have already recommended it to all of our friends. This was a really great experience! I came here with my husband, sister and future brother-in-law. We almost made it out! We were on the last clue. Gavin was a great host, he showed us the final clue to escape. We were a group of 4 and I think thats the perfect size. We did the 214 escape room I think it was called. Really makes you think outside the box. We asked for help right at the end with 5mins on the clock. So close! Will definitely be back next time were in town!

We did the pirate room and it was brilliant. The details were awesome and the puzzles had mechanical solutions as well as brain twisters. Some escape rooms are just a series of opening padlocks and that isnt very fun for me. I like having physical problems to solve too. The bonus puzzle was a lot of fun as well. We didnt manage to solve all of it but it was still interesting!

We have done three of the rooms here and they were all amazing. The ambiance is fantastic, and the attention to detail really sells the whole experience. The current creepy room is 213 - highly recommended for adults who dont mind being afraid of the dark later that evening. My favorite so far from a puzzle-solving perspective is the villains room, and for just general coolness the 8 bit room is unbeatable.The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are clean and well-executed. Most of the rooms are kid friendly and the puzzles are tricky enough to keep the adrenaline high for all ages.

Perfect all around. As a big Star Wars fan, I had high hopes for the Last Hope room. It did not disappoint. Lots of clever references sprinkled throughout, and just the right balance of play being challenging without getting frustrating.

80s escape! Awesome. Great service and well thought out -- this room is actually worth the entry fee. Recommend this room to families with young minded children and anyone wanting to relive their youth. Bravo.

We did the 8 bit escape for my sons 15th birthday party. The 80s nostalgia was super fun for the adults (who lived it) and for the kids (fans of Stranger Things). The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a fun experience overall.

Our first escape room experience and we chose the creepy room (Room 213), so I was nervous. My 10yr old son and I joined another party of 6 and it was great fun, my concerns turned out to be baseless. We didnt find it that creepy, the puzzles were high quality, the staff very supportive and helpful. One concern was that we would actually be locked in the room, it turns out they do not LOCK the entry door, so thats great. You are able to exit to use the restroom if needed. The room was far more complex than I had imagined, the story line left a little to be desired, but the props were top quality. Our group finished the room with over 12 minutes to spare, my son had a fantastic time. I would definitely recommend this activity for a group or family and I look forward to taking part in more escape rooms!
